They play some good music which is calming. There is a separate area where they apply color and perms, which is nice because, as is often the case, while you wait to have your hair process, you don't have to move around. They have a lot of interesting and great smelling candles and products they sell, but there is not a huge push for those, they're there if you want to buy them. Rylie cuts and colors my hair, I've wanted to get bright colors for years and am very happy with the work she does with the color. I think they charge a reasonable amount for their services. They do offer you a beverage, which is a nice perk. And it seems like all the woman who work there are very nice and friendly. I'm so happy I found this salon!

I was signed in and told there was a 40 minute wait; no problem as there is a BIG shopping area to explore. Came back in 35 minutes and was assigned to Kathi. Kathi had a beautiful hair cut so I felt at ease. Kathi was friendly and very organized (OCD?). She discussed my color with me. Did a great job on the color. The cut however went on and on....for just s trim. Then the styling started. It was awful. She got a very small round brush and dried my hair around it, like a curler. Burned me twice. It looked like a brown bowl on my head. So awful i teared up. Luckily the manager was paying attention and offered to re-style my hair. All in all i got a great color job, a decent hair cut (although much shorter than we discussed) and eventually i was able to leave the salon without a bag over my head. But, i won't go back.

I waited out front for 5 minutes until finally the first girl walked to the back to say, "there is a woman waiting out front." I was greeted by a stylist, Monika, who took my information - I wanted a shampoo and haircut. After entering my info into the computer, she walked me back to her station. I had to say, "could I get my hair shampooed please?" She walked me back and only put a small towel under my neck. When I sat up from the chair, my hair was wrapped in a small towel and was dripping down the back of my shirt because she did not put a cape on me. When I walked back to her station, it was very dirty and had cut hair from a previous client all over the seat, foot rest, and floor. She didn't even offer to wipe off the seat. I wiped it off myself before I sat down, to which she said, "oh, sorry about that," but didn't really seem that sorry. I sit down and the entire haircut takes about 5 minutes TOTAL. She asked if I wanted my hair blow-dried, and I said yes. Half-way through, she stops to ask if I wanted it completely dry, or just not dripping - I said completely dry. She stopped again a couple minutes later to ask again if it was "dry enough" - still damp. I gave up and said it was fine because she obviously wasn't interested in taking the time to dry it completely. At the end, she didn't even offer a mirror to check everything out. When I came home, I asked to have a picture taken to see what it looked like - and it is terrible. Very chunky and not even. I am going to have to get another haircut to fix this one. Very, very disappointed.

Everything from "you have a tough beard" to "sorry my razor is dull " Then I got a haircut there weeks later. Her clippers chirped my neck LIKE CRAZY. she was nice but her clippers sucked and I went to work with red bumps and cuts on my neck (front and back) I have since found a new barber and I'm done with this place. Hairs the thing is where i go now and it's great. Kate is awesome. She used to work at barbarella but started her own place. Anyhow I'm don't mean with this place (hair mechanx)
