The painters did little to no prep work (scraping, covering, pressure washing, etc.) prior to painting. They painted the ground, the rocks, our flower beds, hose bibs, etc.. midway through the project they randomly told us they were no longer going to paint our back deck. When we asked them to be more conscientious and considerate of our property, we got a bunch of attitude and aggression from both the painters and their manager Dave. When we brought up our issues to the owner, Matthew, we got the same angry/aggressive response as if we were in the wrong for speaking up. I don't know too many companies that stay in business by bullying and gaslighting their customers, but these guys are certainly trying!

I recently had my roof replaced…read moreby R&M Roofing & Construction, and let me just say, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. I'm talking HGTV dream episode meets spa day for your house level good. Nick was a total pro: honest, efficient, detail-oriented, and somehow faster than I thought physics would allow. I blinked and half the roof was already stripped. Blinked again, and there was a brand new roof staring back at me like, "You're welcome." The work was thorough, like, surgical precision but make it roof tiles kind of thorough. I watched as old, worn-out tiles gave way to clean underlayment, like a snake shedding its skin to become a much better-insulated, leak-proof version of itself. They navigated tricky valleys, ventilation pipes, and multiple pitches with a kind of grace I didn't think was possible for construction. They cover Cottonwood, Sedona, the Verde Valley, even all the way up to Flagstaff and Prescott. So wherever you are in Northern Arizona, Nick's your guy. Honestly, I wish I had more homes so I could hire them again and again. Nick, if you're reading this, I'd like to nominate you as the Patron Saint of Roofs. If you're on the fence about getting your roof redone, climb down, call R&M, and let them work their magic. Your house, and your future self during the next rainstorm, will thank you.

They're on a fixed income, so I was nervous about cost--Nick didn't waste time. He showed up himself, patched the leak, and tarped the area to keep things dry until we could get new skylights. Ordering the custom Velux units ended up taking longer than anyone anticipated--a manufacturer delay, not Nick's fault--but he kept me updated every step of the way. Once the skylights arrived, he scheduled the install quickly, measured each opening to the millimeter, and flashed and sealed them so tight there's no chance of a drip. He hauled away all the old materials, swept the yard, and left no mess behind. Nick was upfront about pricing from the start, answered every question (even late at night), and never slipped in surprise charges. If you need roof repairs or skylight work done honestly and right the first time, call Nick at R&M Roofing. You'll be glad you did.
