To some, it may be an odd mix of stone and grass in a growing suburbia, but it can also show the acceptance of the space. This cemetery is not large. It does not take long to explore. One can find weathered headstones from the early 1900s revealing the culture value of a woman as the "wife of" someone. One can find those who gave their lives to military service. While reading the graves or exploring history, here are some things to examine here and at other burial sites. Not every resting place has these feature. - The chronological placement of people - The use of dates (year vs exact day) - Language engraved into the stone - Broken or toppled headstones (don't vandalize) - Weathered headstones that are hard to read - Replaced headstones (stone type doesn't match lifespan) - Footstones (normally with initials) - Stone type and size - Section names - Potter's field (where nameless people are buried) - Maintenance of the grass and other plants - Presence of real or synthetic flowers - Offerings of pebbles or pennies - Trash (to please throw away)

The paperwork for the PRE-PAID funeral was signed on 7-16-2024. I signed the Interment Order and Authorization form three times now!!! Still to this day they have given me nothing but excuses as to why this has not been done! I have been told every excuses under the sun! Too much rain in KC MO to do the engagement, weather related issues, there are six other families on the list with us being on the top of the list, it normally takes 6 months, there a third party company that does the Engravement so on and so forth!! I took these pictures yesterday, no rain, ground dry and still NOT ENGRAVED!! It took 3 hours to sign to prepaid documents only after I started questioning the price I was going to have to pay. Because I was having to pay the difference they paid for something that was prepaid for!! So yeah I was beyond pissed when the fiqures were not adding up!! Would you not be if it was your Mother or Father?! I was also told sometime after my Father's service this place turned away friends, co-workers, former KC MO police officers and military personnel away, that the service was for family only, which was a complete lie!! You can't tell me that there is only one engraving company with over 510,000 people in the greater Kansas City MO metropolitan area! I call bullshit and I'm over it with all the lies and excuses! All I want is to have my mother and father's stone fixed, done and completed so I can move there stone to were we live now! My sister called this morning speaking to Andrea Olsen, only to receive the exact same lies, excuses, as to why it hasn't been done. To only have Andrea Olsen say she will call once it's completed and hung up on my sister!! I did not post my mother's passing on social media nor did I call every family member at her request for several of her reasons that are irrelevant at this point! If you unfortunately have family member pass away I would highly recommend staying clear of this company period!! I don't want another family to experience the utterly disrespectful way we've been treated and especially the disrespect to the memory of my mother and father. This is NOT HOW YOU TREAT FORMER MILITARY MEMBERS!!!

I had the honor of sitting next to Jack and talking about his work. I asked questions that I am sure were hard for him to answer with the family present, and looking back that probably wasn't the best place to talk to him about his work, but I have to say that Jack was very professional and made us all feel great with his responses to our questions. I really liked talking to him and right then I put it in the back of my mind to call his funeral home if I ever needed such services. Fast forward several years later and I was in need of a funeral home when my father (Ronald Rinkenbaugh) passed away on July 23, 2022. Being extremely upset with the loss of my father and best friend of 48 years, I was lost and the only person I could think of was Jack Klein and how amazing he was in handling my questions before. My mother and I were lost and didn't know at all how the funeral system worked or who to call first. A family friend said to call a funeral home and that they would help us. That's when I knew it was time to call Hixson Klein Funeral Homes and see if I could talk to Jack. I dialed the phone number and the most soothing and calming voice answered the phone and that was Christa Musser, who is Jack's daughter. Instantly Christa calmed us down and was just the voice and guidance we needed at that time. Christa made sure to give us quick pricing and different options over the phone so we had something to work with. Instantly my mother (who is usually slow on making decisions) said "That's who I want to handle my husband and his remains". Christa scheduled a meeting that afternoon at 1:00pm and we had an immediate sense of relief come over us. We met Christa and she sat down with us and gave us all of the options. She also looked at my fathers work history and military background and gave us options that we didn't even know were available to us. Christa knew we were struggling and she even went above and beyond to tell us that we were eligible for a FEMA grant to burry my father that would pay $9,000 of his funeral expenses. This really was where Christa and Hixson Klein Funeral Homes stood out above other funeral homes. Not only did Christa offer the advice and assistance we needed, she took the time to help fill out and fax the forms to FEMA and made sure everything was easily read and processed correctly. During the funeral Jack was very attentive to our needs and even offered water to guests and family during the visitation. Our funeral for my father was absolutely beautiful and a huge success. I don't think anyone could have done it better than Hixson Klein Funeral Homes. My aunt was so impressed with their professionalism that she has decided to have Hixson Klein Funeral Homes handle her funeral and she is currently living in Little Rock, Arkansas. If you're needing a funeral home, I would highly recommend that you put your trust in Hixson Klein Funeral Homes as I feel truly blessed that they were there for my family in our time of need.
