I have experienced numerous episodes of Bell's palsy and it left dramatic damage. The asymmetry alone was enough to break my heart every time I looked in the mirror. Add to that nerve damage/synkinesis, not pretty. I have researched options to lessen the disfigurement and met with MANY doctors (so many doctors). I was preparing to travel to California to meet with two doctors there. One blessed night I searched in Charlotte one more time. I found Dr. Kulbersh and Carolina Facial Plastics. The CFP team are a fantastic group of professionals. I have never experienced such amazing responsiveness from any medical professional as I have with Carolina Facial Plastics. They know their business. It is very apparent that Dr. Kulbersh invests in technology, education, equipment and, most importantly, his team to bring the best possible results to his patients. A surgeon with this tremendous level of knowledge and skill is rare. Charlotte is lucky to have someone of this caliber here. My recovery has been amazing, results outstanding!

Dr. Capizzi review I just had my surgery done by Dr. Capizzi…read moreon Tuesday, January 24th. I interviewed another top plastic surgeon in the area who didn't give me any of the innovative ideas that Dr. Capizzi recommended for the best outcome possible. These products include the Sientra / 'gummy bear' implants to replace my old silicone ones. These Sientra implants are the safest implants available on the market, and they have a 20-year and up to a lifetime guarantee. They have the least complications of any implant on the market, including for ruptures or capasculsr contraction and other complications. These Sientra implants have a more cohesive gel that does not leak like other typical implants (imagine cutting a gummy bear in half and you have two solid pieces that are still intact- this is what happens with this particular type of gel implant). Dr. Capizzi also inserted a dissolvable mesh support at the bottom of my breast to make sure that the stays in place and also to stops drooping due to gravity / aging, which hopefully, means that this will be my last surgery. I am a 54 years old and this will be my third implant revision and, hopefully, the last one! Although my breasts are still sore and tender and the scars are healing, I already feel much better at day 6 then I felt with the other two surgeries at 2 weeks! I told Dr. Capizzi that he had 'carte blanche' to do whatever was necessary on the operating table to achieve the best possible outcome, and I actually went down a size because the larger implants that were similar in size to what I had previously did not give him the desired results that he wanted- and that he knew that I wanted. I am 100 percent confident that my breasts are going to be absolutely gorgeous once the swelling goes down and the scars heal, I can already tell they're going to be beautiful, fully supported, and nice and perky. The other thing that I asked him to do when doing the implant switch out and breast lift, was I wanted my nipples to be smaller and even, which has bugged me my entire life and has also now been corrected and I am absolutely thrilled about! I wanted a more full implant at the top with a little bit better cleavage so I chose the 'Bombshell' implant, which is the latest and greatest gummy bear implant available. It's a little fuller than the other available gummy bear implants, but they still feel nice and soft. Dr. Capizzi and his team will go over all of your options with you at your initial visit, with no pressure to go one way or the other, He'll show you pictures on a large screen of different women with various different types of implants, so you'll be able to see not only his past work but make notes of which ones you like and the look that you want to achieve along with him also taking copious notes on what your personal objectives are. His entire team is truly amazing- very professional and very caring- from Amy who will help you with pricing and scheduling, to Megan, who was my nurse, Plus the wonderful young woman that did my first post operative lymphatic drainage ultrasound, which was at day three (at my first post operative appointment, where they check to make sure everything is looking good and is healing properly). At that appointment, they also take off the Steri strips and fit you with a post-surgical bra, which, I believe, was designed by Dr. Capizzi himself+ it's so much more supportive than the old, traditional white cotton bras I was sent home before. Dr. Capizzi specializes in breast surgery, even very difficult cases like mine, I have very dense, fibro cystic breasts and I have very thin skin, on top of that- but he took it all in stride and wasn't phased by any of that in the least, I am 100% positive that he was the absolute best option as compared to any other surgeon. In fact, I have three friends that are currently exploring breast surgery, and I will be definitely referring them to Dr. Capizzi! Last but not least, Dr. Capizzi was recommended to me not only by multiple friends of mine as their Doctor, but he was also recommended to him by another plastic surgeon when asking for his recommendation for the best Surgeon for breasts. This retired plastic Surgeon from Charlotte said 'if you need your breast done, you need to talk to Dr. Capizzi, he is the absolute best at what he does and if this was for my wife or daughter, that's definitely where Iwould take them'. Another note is that the other plastic surgeon that I talked to, who was also very highly venerated and with over 40 years of experience, did not offer up any of the innovative ideas or products like the gummy bear implants or the dissolvable mesh to support the implant, He also did not offer lymphatic drainage ultrasounds or any other things that Dr. Capizzi automatically includes with his surgeries to flatten out the scars and to give his patients the best results. If you are considering any procedure that can be performed by a plastic surgeon, go here first!

The plan was to remove the old implants, reduce the size significantly but place in a gummy bear implant as well as a mesh lift. Also part of the plan was to do Lipo around the bra area to reduce total circumference size for the entire breast area. I came out of surgery feeling swollen for several weeks so it wasn't until weeks in that I noticed that I still couldn't lower my arms because of what seemed to be a large lump of breast tissue under the armpit area, creating what looked like another small breast. Not only was it uncomfortable, but just truly embarrassing look and not at all what I paid for. My breast area not symmetrical in the fact that they look more like a blob that a round shaped breast. I pitched an absolute fit, cried and had decided I would get a lawyer if he didn't go back in and remove that under armpit tissue that wasn't there before the first surgery. So at that point I went back under the knife for round two and came out with scars that now go up my back and I can never wear anything strapless straight across my back due to the incision areas showing. All in all it's been well over a year later and I still cry all the time at how I look. I am one of those people that feel like you get what you pay for. But in this situation, I paid way more than any of my friends did going to other surgeons in the Lake Norman area and I ended up with the most botched job of any of them. All of my friends have had major success stories, and I am still sitting over here sick to my stomach that I spent hard earned money and I'm still so unhappy with the way I look.

I sent a note to the doctor asking what came next. I received no word from the clinic, so I called finally. I was told that they had not received the biopsy report yet. In April 2019, I had a PurseString Gluteoplasty with a Medial Thigh Lift with Full Lipo of upper legs. The surgery turned out looking gorgeous as ever and the scars are super thin and with straight lines. :) This is a such awesome improvement, since a previous doctor left me with humongous and deeply scars. :( My very 1st consultation in January 2019 with Dr. Hunstad, I knew from just talking to him in the first 10mins, that I wanted this Outstanding Doctor to do my Surgeries from here on out. He gives that kind- hearted, and very natural comfort in his voice to you and seems to understand what you are wanting to accomplish and gives you his opinion , great options and will Answer all your questions without any hesitation. So intelligent! He always takes time with you in your appointments , so you aren't left hanging or on the edge with unanswered questions. I've been following him on Social media, for a little while prior to coming to my first consultation, I had a pretty good idea of his Wonderful Surgical work, when I stumbled across him on his Surgeries on YouTube , I just knew then, he was the one to fix, everything I needed Done. (Love watching those videos, ;) very interesting and knowledgeable. What I watched wasn't just good , they were EXCELLENT!! But even better than watching is seeing the Actual results on yourself :) Highly Recommend Dr. Joeseph Hunstad!! I am ecstatic, that I did stumble across this fine doctor. He did take Excellent care of Me in the Operating Room. And I put full trust, that I'm in good hands with him for no matter what surgery I'm having done that day. Not scared at All! His Aftercare was even better . He loves to keep a good eye on you.. I think , I came for several months afterwards it seemed , but that was OK..haha... I do enjoy going to see everyone..;).. Least I got to know the girls on 1st name bases :) But really truly, as many times, as I have been to the OR , with Cosmetic Surgeries from having done by a previous Doctor , that didn't give me good results , just a bunch of problems and botched scars , which I'm embarrassed of, and they have to be redone. I'm glad to finally find a doctor like Hunstad, that is a "Perfectionist" 100% in everything they do for you! That actually wants to make you look fabulous and takes his time with you , and not rushed , so your surgery will turn out Beautiful and look awesome!! I'm looking forward to Dr. Hunstad doing my next surgery, Full Tummy Tuck on October 2019..

I was 51 when I finally had my breast reduction and lift, but I've lived with large breasts since FIFTH GRADE. This wasn't some random cosmetic procedure I decided I wanted one day. I waited most of my life to do this. I wanted ONE surgery. I wanted to do it right, follow the instructions, heal and finally be done with something I had dealt with since I was a little girl. I honestly wish now that I had never done it. I hate my result. Looking back, I don't feel like Dr. K ever took the time to really understand what I wanted. He didn't measure me. We didn't have a detailed conversation about what size I wanted to be, how much lift I wanted or what I expected my breasts to look like afterward. There was no drawing out a plan with me and making sure we were on the same page. At first I thought he was just quiet. Eventually, I felt dismissed. I didn't know what I didn't know. I'd never had this surgery before. I trusted the surgeon to be the expert and guide me through the process. The night before surgery made things worse. I was given Dr. K's phone number and spoke directly with him less than 24 hours before my procedure about a medication I take regularly. My hairdresser was sitting there and heard the conversation. While I was trying to get important instructions about medication before surgery the next morning, his attention seemed divided by an argument or situation involving his children happening around him. He told me not to take the medication. So I didn't. I arrived for surgery with severe anxiety. Then the anesthesiologist told me something completely different. My recollection is that I was told anesthesia had explained multiple times that someone who takes this medication regularly, the way I do, could take it. Then I'm already prepped and literally about to be taken back for surgery, and I can hear nurses talking about Dr. K being in a bad mood. Imagine lying there about to be put under anesthesia and hearing that about the person who is about to operate on you. The anesthesiologist was honestly the one person that day who made me feel comfortable and cared for. The whole experience felt like too many hands in the pot and not enough communication. After surgery, I followed the instructions. ALL OF THEM. I wore the bra. I have basically lived in a bra. I even followed instructions that I later learned may not have been necessary because I was determined to do everything I could to get the best possible result. And here I am. I can STILL hold a pencil underneath my breast. I paid for a breast reduction AND A LIFT. I'm 52. I wasn't expecting the breasts of a 20-year-old. I wasn't expecting perfection. But I absolutely expected better than this. I'm unhappy with the shape and the amount of lift. I have concerns about my scars and I'm unhappy with areas around my upper arms and sides as well. But what really gets me is the follow-up. Where is it? Nobody from this company has contacted me to find out how I ultimately healed or whether I'm happy with my result. Dr. K hasn't checked on me. There aren't even proper after pictures documenting my final result. I feel like I became another person in line. And then I watched a friend go through this process AFTER me. She consulted with Dr. K and told me she was quoted around $30,000. She ultimately chose another surgeon and paid around $7,000. Her result is beautiful. But the money isn't what got me. It was watching what her surgeon did BEFORE surgery. He measured her. He talked about exactly what size she wanted. He drew everything out. He explained what he was going to do. He made sure they were on the same page. I remember thinking, where the hell was any of that for me? I waited from the time I was a little fifth-grade girl until I was a 51-year-old woman to finally do this. Now I may have to go through another surgery, another anesthesia and another recovery to get the result I thought I was getting the first time. That's exactly what I spent all those years trying to avoid. I don't want a generic response underneath this review telling me to call the office. I want someone in H/K/B management who actually has the authority to address this to contact me. I want my result evaluated. I want proper postoperative pictures taken. I want someone to actually LISTEN to what I wanted in the first place. And I want another qualified surgeon to evaluate whether this can be corrected and have a real conversation with me about what H/K/B is willing to do to make this right. I prepared. I followed the instructions. I gave my body time to heal. I waited almost my entire life to do this once. I should not be sitting here at 52 wishing I had never done it and wondering who is going to fix it.
