Charley's tree service crew did great job cutting our big maple tree in the front yard. They came, cut it, loaded it to be haul away, ground the stump, and, left the yard in great shape. Extremely happy with Charley's. They were very responsive and came out the same day to give an estimate. We had 5 trees removed and the stumps ground and the price was very reasonable. When I called to schedule they were about 2 1/2 weeks out, but they had a cancellation and worked us in sooner. The crew was very friendly and efficient. Every single tree that was removed or trimmed - there was nothing left anywhere on the ground. All the leaves and scrap was picked up and my yard was cleaned up when they were done. Highly recommend. When a pine tree died suddenly I noticed it had holes bored into it. Left a message at Charley's Tree Service who returned my call the same day. When Charley came out he showed me how all of my pines had borers. Two of the other trees could not be saved but he gave me a recommendation on what to buy, where to buy it and how to treat the rest of my pine trees. I had calls in to other tree service companies, but Charley's bid was so reasonable I told him to go ahead and book it. Charley's crew came out the following week. They were fast and efficient. The trees were cut, stumps ground and area cleaned up in record time. They even raked all the pine needles making a nice looking bed. I don't write reviews, but I'd feel guilty if I didn't write this one. My half-acre lot is covered in huge native oaks. After a recent windstorm, I called Charley to come and remove three large limbs from my back yard and to inspect a huge oak near the front of my home. He arrived within an hour, pointed at the ground around the oak, and told me the wind had loosened the roots. He recommended removal. He gave me a very reasonable quote but apologetically told me that, due to the storm, it would be several days before he could get to me. The next morning I noticed the tree was leaning. I called Charley and he had a large crew at my home within a half-hour. They went to work and within three hours had the work done and everything cleaned up. The crew was friendly and good-spirited and worked quickly and professionally. They even volunteered to remove some branches hanging low over my driveway at no extra charge. I'd hoped to give Charley's Tree Service a higher rating based on early expectations. But reviewing all that transpired AFTER Charley's impressive initial visit and estimate, and timely appointment to do the work, I was left with a very frustrating experience. The large crew came ready to remove two trees and grind stumps per the estimate/invoice. As they began work they cut and dropped huge branches on our neighbor's driveway and hedge (bordering our lots). Why did our kind and elderly neighbor have to make them aware of the damage they were doing? After making the crew aware of his (and our) concern the crew THEN began to take care to climb, rope the branches, cut and drop more carefully. Also, an error in communication between the crew led them to begin cutting down the WRONG second tree! If my husband had not seen middle branches being cut from the wrong tree and asked about it we would have lost the bigger, healthier of two hickory trees! Of course they apologized -- major error averted! He was told that the tree "will fill in". And lastly, the cleanup of the stump grinding. What should be expected for removing sawdust? Isn't there equipment for cleaning it up? A vacuum of sorts? My husband raked and shoveled buckets of sawdust from the rocked area where tree #1 had been. It's still a mess. I have picked up chunks of landscaping fabric and sticks that were left behind. Plus, I have raked and smoothed the rock berm between yard and road, back to its original apperance after the crew dragged limb after limb across it leaving drag marks and foot prints. I wish Charley had been here to supervise. They were paid in full. Wish I'd skipped my medical appointment to be here when they "finished". read more

I had a large elm tree next to my house that died and needed to come down. My insurance agent recommended Charley's and two other companies. I got prices and Charley's was by far the cheapest. They called the day before and told me that were coming and then the next day they arrived with a big crew at 8:45 and started work. At 9:45 the tree was on the ground and they were grinding the stump. They gave me a price to cut dead limbs out of two other trees and they did that work also. At 10:30 they were finished, cleaned up and gone. I can't say enough about this company. I worked construction all my life and this crew was as efficient as I have seen. If I need another tree to come down, these are the guys that I will call. read more
