We highly recommend David Kent as a buyers agent. We moved 1300 miles from Omaha Nebraska to Summerville SC. I visited with David Kent several times by phone and email before we had hired him - he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, patient, caring, and fun to visit with as a person. We built a new home beginning in March 2022 thru October 2022 - David was very helpful through the entire process - we were not able to be onsite being a long distance build due to timing, and other factors. I have to agree with the other reviewer - Buyer's Agents are the ONLY way to go. We were considering moving to Charleston and were so lucky to find Chuck Stark at Real Buyer's. We were house hunting in Portland and had several bad experiences with brokers. Now we understand why - we thought they were representing us but they were really trying to represent both sides. Chuck was AMAZING! He helped us understand why his service was different and what we weren't getting from our other brokers. Chuck and I had tons of communication before our move - speaking many times over the phone and exchanging emails. He put a lot of prep work into our trip by reviewing our wish list, discussing his process with us and educating us about the Charleston market. Once we arrived in Charleston, we hit the ground running. Chuck helped us narrow down our neighborhood of choice with a tour of absolutely every nook and cranny of Mt. Pleasant. He was part agent & part tour guide. We drove by or saw every, and I mean EVERY, house that matched our criteria. We made an offer and once again, Chuck went to bat for us making sure we got the best possible deal and looking out for our interests, even when the seller wanted to take the curtain rods after we had a signed contract. His network of closing lawyers and mortgage lenders is deep - make sure you see Michelle Long at Homeowner's Mortgage - and that really is the icing on the cake. We had an absolutely outstanding experience using David Kent with The Real Buyer's Agent. We were looking to relocate to Charleston from out of state in a very difficult real estate market with properties rarely staying on the market for more than 48 hours. David did everything he possibly could to help us find our dream home. Without fail, if there was a property we were interested in, David would get us a showing same day, would go to the property and video chat to show us a house. When my wife and I decided at 11pm on a Friday that we needed to hop on a Sat 8am flight to Charleston to look at a property, David got my email and texted me at 7 am on Saturday to set up a showing. I was very pleased with my experience working with David (and Roxanna)! In fact, I sought him out after reading other Yelp reviews about local realtors - only fitting to add mine as well. As a first time home buyer, David walked me through the entire process step-by-step to where I never felt unsure of what was happening. David listened to what I was looking for, and I never felt like he was trying to sell me a home above my price range or in a development where he stood to gain financially (had this happen with another realtor in the past and ended up walking away from the process altogether at that time). David Kent helped me and my husband purchase our first house about two months ago. I couldn't have been happier with the experience and working with David made it SO much easier than we expected! David embodied two things that you absolutely must have in a relationship with a Realtor--trust and communication. I don't think I ever went more than 4 hours without getting a response to an email or phone call. David recommended other great services, including our closing attorney and home inspector who we had great experiences with as well. We were pretty "high needs" buyer who wanted to be kept in the loop constantly, so this communication helped us feel at ease. Each day that we looked at houses, she arrived fully prepared with a booklet which included very detailed information and pictures of each home that we would be looking at. We could then take these booklets home to study and review the information on the houses that we had looked at. These booklets were a great tool in helping us to decide on which home to buy. Because Vikki is not listing houses, she is able to be very honest with you about the listings that you are looking at. She will tell you if she thinks that something is not a good decison and can guide you in the right direction, ensuring that you make a wise decision.
