I'm writing this a 4 in the morning cause I've been up for several hours due to loud music, yelling, honking etc in a residential area. Ive put the complaints in online, they are ignored or as I've been told they have to bring out a machine in order to ticket these people which won't happen. The reason why people keep dying and acting a fool is because they know they can. The police won't do anything and don't want to do anything. I would move but I've put so much money into making this my home and I was surprised with my daughter or I'd just handle it myself. But the moment one of us gets hurt I'm suing yall. This all could have been prevented if you had done as promise and surveillance the area. Laws don't matter on this street in the summertime, shot? Don't call the police they won't come anyways. I get that noise complaints aren't shit but I've tried getting them out here when people are yelling "I'm going to shoot your ass" or beating the crap out of each other when they don't even LIVE on this street.

NCPD has had too many incidents where a minor is treated as an adult and in most cases it's a BLACK CHILD! NCPD has shown that black people (or POC) especially children are not treated or protected the same and this leaves fear and pain in my heart. if we can't trust the people paid to protect and fight FOR us then why are they here at all?

We were having serious problems with a violent, unhinged next door neighbor. It was like something…read moreyou'd see on television and we were afraid and angry. We are a quiet couple whose kids are out of the house and we didn't know what to do. We had just moved in so it was going to be awhile before we could move out--which we eventually did, but in the meantime we needed help. Unbelievably, this was happening in a nice quiet neighborhood with mostly families and older couples. So we called Mount Pleasant PD and they took our call seriously. Officer Beebo was very helpful and offered a solution that worked. We no longer felt afraid and terrorized in our own home. And we were able to relax a little until we moved! Thank you so much!

In my case there were 8 different officers involved in the month long neighbor dispute. Body cam footage shows the officer arrive at the neighbors home and twice telling the couple he was new to the case and had not had time to read prior reports - there were a significant number of reports. He took this couples' narrative as truth which cost me not only legal repercussions but financial suffering as well. A year later I am still dealing with their intentional and malicious harassment and false reporting. What needed to be done prior to this officer reporting to his supervisor that "this lady is insane" - me. Not only that, there was a minor child involved in this dispute. Heinous, false allegations by this neighbor claimed there was physical abuse, specifically that I "sat on top of their child and attempted to suffocate her". Absolute defamation that caused extreme, intentional infliction of emotional distress. Not one member of the Mount Pleasant Police Department investigated ALL evidence related to multiple false allegations made. Not one government official returned phone calls/messages or emails sent by me. Not one of SEVERAL attorneys in the Charleston area wanted to take a case involving "neighbor disputes" which left me defenseless. It's a shame!

This is my strong opinion and I'm very sure that others human beings feel the same about this corporation. This department is a bully and lacks crime victim sympathy. They have not once reached out to me on their own accord to see how I was holding up in regards to the murder 5 year daughter since 2020. I just found out the case went cold. Absolutely NO INITIAL CONTACT. This department needs a full house clean out. I watched an officer who was a detective rise quickly to 2nd in command in a 5 year span. He was my point of contact for my daughter's murder. Now that contact seems untouchable since he has risen to 2nd in command. There were two shooters in my Daughter's death, one suspect was outside between a fence line and an apartment across street from the targeted home and the other shooter was inside of the home where my daughter resides. I been voiced and asserted audibly that this Department is not organized. This Department was disorganized during my daughter's murder investigation. Officers of this department were informed there were multiple red flags with this investigation. SPD admitted that the investigation was sloppy as critical evidence was missed (but how much evidence was missed and what was missed? I dont know). They allege they have a suspect. The same person who discharged a firearm from outside of my daughter's home. Was accused of murdering someone else is same street neighborhood few years prior. The detective for that case is was also a detective in my daughter's case. And he has climbed the corporate latter of law enforcement. I speak only truth of my interactions of what I personally witnessed and or interacted with. I dont believe in being courteous when being lied to by this department. And yes they in fact do lie. I put this on the news as they quick tried to cut the tape but too late it was live. They almost didnt want me to speak. Too bad, I am a father who lost his beautiful and lively daughter who had a soul everyone could wish for in a child.

My older granddaughter (her sister) had flown in from RI to be with the family. We were leaving the house in Folly to take the older one to the airport and then go to the hospital for neurological testing and brain mapping in preparation for surgery. I was stopped by officer John Rawls for speeding. No one in the car was sure why we were being pulled over. We wondered if we had a tail light out. We were traveling behind a car going the same speed and the GPS map said that we were under the speed limit. I have a clean driving record and was driving with the traffic flow (no faster, no slower). I have a picture on my maps stating we were in a 55 mph zone. The officer was rude and unprofessional and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. He said several times that I should have left sooner, and was more concerned about "joggers" and "families crossing the road" at 6:55 am (on a four lane road- perhaps these imaginary walkers should be taught to use cross walks) than my granddaughter sitting in the passenger seat obviously not well. He showed absolutely NO COMPASSION and treated me like I was a criminal. Even though the necessity of a ticket is unsure, at this point, I would gladly accept a ticket and be on my way to make a flight and hospital appointment. I asked, with tears in my eyes, if he could possibly hurry. This was not said in anger or to be rude. I was simply, asking because time was critical and we were losing crucial time. His response was "why would I hurry?" Everyone in the car was upset by our treatment. If nothing else, this officer needs to attend a sensitivity class. I have never in my entire life of almost 70 years been treated as poorly by any police officer as I was that morning. I couldn't decide if my tears were from sadness or madness. He deserves a reprimand for this deplorable treatment in an already stressful situation. My complaint is so that others don't experience this same treatment in the future. And even though this experience has given me a bad taste in my mouth for Folly Beach, I will be in court on 2/10. I may still be in Charleston anyway as my granddaughter may still be in the hospital. "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Writing tickets and slowing speeders is a fact of life. But you truly never know what a person is going through.
