I started going there in 2014 but haven't visited in a few years. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Offers privacy and pleasant surroundings.

They might be new to Chapel Hill but they've been around for 160+ years! I needed savings account for my son who is 10. It was going to be where he would deposit his own money. It's been a very long time since I've opened an account up but everything from start to finish was seamless and secure. Mr. Carr went to great length to introduce me to staff as we passed by them (which made me feel more comfortable) instead of just rushing me into some office to take my information. This branch really got to know me as a person and not just as account number. If you want personable and professional give this branch a chance. PARKING: there is shared parking all around the building as you pull in. Handicap accessible to the left of the building and a bike rack in the front. SEATING: I counted 3 designated areas where you can sit comfortably- coffee bar, side area, and front entrance. ATM: inside the first set of double doors to the right is an ATM. During business hours anyone can use them. But banking members can use their card after hours since its locked. HOURS: only closed on Sunday and traditional banking holidays.

Bank of America Financial Center - Single drive-thru ATM. There's also a walk-up ATM at the front of the building.

If I recall correctly, the drive-thru ATM told me to not insert more than 74 bills. I took half my stack, inserted it, and had no problems. The screen updated and told me not to insert more than 50-something bills (again, if I recall correctly). I inserted the rest of my stack, but this time, the ATM spit the stack back out. It was kind of funny. The reason it spit the stack back out is because one of the bills had a small tear in it. I removed the torn bill from the stack and reinserted the stack. The ATM accepted the rest of the money. I counted the cash by hand beforehand. The ATM's count was accurate. The ATM accepted and counted the money fast. It was very convenient. On a Sunday morning around 10am, we were the only people on-site. This Bank of America location has two ATMs: one drive-thru (the one I used) and one walk-up (outside the storefront, facing the street). Someone drove onto the property behind us, headed to the drive-thru ATM, as we were leaving. This Bank of America location is open six days a week, Monday-Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. The ATMs operate 24/7. The property was clean and felt safe. This is known as the "Woodcroft" Bank of America Financial Center & Drive-Thru ATM. However, I think it's technically not within Woodcroft neighborhood limits, it's located just west of Woodcroft. Woodcroft Shopping Center with Food Lion is two driveways up the road. I had a good experience here and would come back for my physical banking needs.

My brother does not bank at B.O.A.. As such, the bank was only willing to notarize my signature but not my brother's. It was clear that we were dealing with the loss of a family member; it was clear that we were brothers; but B.O.A. policy would not let this happen. That is what I was told by their representative at this branch. To tout so much 'customer service' as one of their strengths is not as true as they want you to believe. Being treated as nothing more than an account number isn't welcoming at all.

I want to preface this review by saying my 1 star rating is not directed at my local branch…read more Everyone there is great and they are the only reason I still bank with Wells Fargo. By now everyone knows how Wells Fargo has treated their customers until recently by opening up accounts without their clients knowledge. If you believe them they have made amends and no longer do that. I just want to alert the public of another way their clients are being screwed. I have both personal and business accounts with WF. Last week I deposited a check from a client in the amount of $17,206.50. Normally even large checks clear in a day or two. I was notified that the check was being put on hold because of insufficient funds. I called my client and told them the news and they were surprised because the check had already cleared their account days ago. I was told on the phone by a customer service rep yesterday that I had to wait 5 days from the date of deposit (today) before I could make an official request that the money be credited to my account. Today I was told by another rep that the hold would be removed tomorrow and I told them that wasn't good enough. He then told me that the hold would be removed by the end of the business day today, "or first thing tomorrow morning". Now, I do want to say that in the past I have deposited larger checks than this one and never had to wait more than two days for it to show up in my account. But I'm wondering if this is just another way that WF has devised to take advantage of the "float" before making funds available to their customers. What really irks me is that I was told that the check was being held for insufficient funds when in fact it had already cleared my client's bank! It seems that WF hasn't learned their lesson and is still up to their dirty tricks. Think about it, if they randomly do that to a million customers a day the amount of money it makes for them. This whole episode was personally embarrassing for both me and my clients. In this day and age with electronic funds transfers, I can see no reason for withholding funds availability for more than 24 hours (other than putting more profit into WF's already bloated coffers)!

They closed the commercial account of the small business I was working for without so much as a call or an email. Our team has been working as sub-contractors for the University for the past few months and when we tried to receive payment into our Wells Fargo commercial account we discovered it was closed. The staff at Wells Fargo said it was not possible to re-open the account again, we would have to open a new account. Since we are University sub-contractors, this will be a multi-month delay before we can get paid for work we did in December and January. The pandemic has already been difficult for me, my family, and my business and now Wells Fargo, through its actions, is delaying our paycheck by weeks and months. Wells Fargo in this location is only catering to the high end hedge funds and financiers in the area. If you are a small business, University sub-contractor, or just a Chapel Hill resident looking to open a personal account, you are not welcome at Wells Fargo nor at this branch. There are plenty of other banks in the area that would appreciate your business and would certainly offer you the courtesy of a phone call to resolve a problem rather than closing your company's account and screwing over all of your employees.
