Thanks to Garrett's support, instead of constantly trying to put out financial fires, I'm now on…read moretrack to be debt free this year, have an emergency fund, and more consistently align my finances towards my fiancée's and my values and goals. For context, I first found Garrett while searching online for a finance coach, and I resonated with his optimism and supportive tone on his website. I proceeded to have an initial call with him, and just like the tone on his website, Garrett was warm and friendly. He was attentive, curious, and professional, and he showed up with structured programs combined with a willingness to adjust and be flexible for my specific circumstances. He clearly had the training, experience, and skills, and I got the sense he walked the talk, invested a lot in himself, and put in the work to live authentically. I was eager to work with Garrett, but I still had my hesitations. I was on track to go deeper and deeper into debt. Did it really make sense to hire a finance coach and add on another expense in my life? At the end of the day, I had to conclude that I needed additional support. I tried reading books, getting support from friends and family, and making changes on my own, and I wasn't getting the results I needed. It's as if I had tried to heal a broken bone on my own and then realized I really needed to hire a doctor. I had to admit that I couldn't do this with my current approaches, and Garrett had been able to help many others before me. After discussing with my fiancée, Jasjeet, we hired Garrett to support us as a couple. I'm so glad we made that decision. Garrett continued to show up consistently with the aforementioned qualities, and after only 7 sessions, I experienced the following results. - Alignment with Jasjeet on our priorities and financial plan which includes being debt free this year and having an emergency fund - New tools for successfully talking about and getting aligned about finances with Jasjeet - A shift towards feeling more empowered and steady in my relationship with money Of course, Jasjeet and I also needed to put in the work to show up to the sessions and do the work in-between sessions. So much credit for our success goes to my fiancée. As our coach, Garrett helped guide us with a listening ear, honest perspective, tools, and strategies. Thanks again, Garrett, and I'm looking forward to continuing our work together!

Garret took the time to understand my situation and then outlined our his services may help. At the end of the call, rather than hard selling me, he told me it might be smart to try it on my own first and then come back if I was running into the same issues. I could not recommend him enough solely based on our intro call.

For all the effort and check ins the results were less than what the bigger and established financial companies were able to do. Let's face it, all of these guys have their issues but personally I would look elsewhere. Better the devils we know really applies in the case of this start up.

Update 2/16: I want to share that the owner of Stash Wealth reached out to me and shared her…read moreappreciation for my feedback. She also addressed some key concerns I had and expressed how feedback helps them evolve and stay competitive. After this, I do feel more confident in recommending this service to friends knowing how seriously they take their feedback and I'm excited to consider revisiting this service at a later date. ------------ I purchased the individual stash plan. Here are some of my notes that may help you make a decision if Stash Wealth is right for you. Summary: I think SW could be a good starting place for some people. If you aren't sure what accounts to setup, how much you can afford a month on expenses, or how to save for retirement or a home then this could be helpful. Things I liked: -Small team / personalized experience -Professional and nice staff -They have "experts" in various areas of the financial world which is nice if you like having one place to go to for your money questions. -A fiduciary - meaning they aren't suppose to sell you investments that aren't in your best interest -They seemed happy to let me email follow up questions after I went through the stash plan process - pretty quick responses -The online experience / website / portal was great. They used Zoom for the meetings. -good to have gotten another perspective on my financial plan. I now know I was checking the right boxes. Things I didn't like: - Having a small team means time is money meaning you may not get virtual time you need to get your "financial shit together". Leaving holes in your final plan or areas you wish they had looked at. -I noticed the advisor wasn't aware of some of the features in some of the products he was recommending. Wasn't aware of new savings features, along with the Ally Investment Platform (he thought they only let you buy stocks), wasn't aware of Wealthfront's minimum balance. If you're a money nerd you should keep up with this stuff so you know the latest and greatest to help your customers. -The overall Stash Plan was pretty basic in my opinion. They basically look at your income, budget, and do a little basic math to tell you where to flow your money to reach your goals. I expected more. Give me multiple approaches to killing my financial outlook i.e. show me various conservative and aggressive options to reach my goals faster (increase your 401k matching by x percent after paying off x debt, or sell vested stock on x date to do x thing which could give you x returns by x date allowing you to retire x number of years earlier). I felt a little bit like a number to them - after they get your basic money flow they try to upsell you on ongoing money management. -They ask you to upload your bank, credit card statements, employer benefits, paystub, etc... however they never gave me any insights into my spending or to my knowledge, used my statements in my stash plan. -I only met twice with the advisor - around an hour each time and it felt a lil rushed towards the end. -After my first meeting, I sent some updated debt numbers to my advisor, but he forgot to update our plan by the 2nd meeting. This fudged my final plan. This was a little off putting. -The advisor really didn't go into strategies on how to pay off debt faster, other than consider consolidating it. For example, one of my debts is a balance transfer and has 0%$ APR for 12 months. I feel like the advisor should have offered some insights on how i should prioritize that debt above other areas. There was no mentions or discussions around this. -Personally I did not like the style of the plan. At first I liked it, but later I found it difficult to find information, interpret it, etc.. the format, the way it was written and flow of it got on my nerves later. At the end they put a cliff notes slide - however in my mind, a good plan shouldn't need cliff notes. The plan should BE the cliff notes. -I have unvested stocks at the company I work for - I expected to see more forecasting around how and when to use the unvested company stocks. -I initially didn't provided accurate budgeting numbers - (on me) I would have given them brownie points if they had allowed me to redo my plan with the correct numbers instead they just told me some things to tweak over email or if they had caught this via the monthly statements - i.e. Cam based on the statement it looks like you spent $800 on food and not $200 a month like you said in our first meeting. Overall, they just take what you give them, create a money flow plan and get you on your merry way and try to get you in their Stash mgmt service. They aren't looking at your situation comprehensively - IMO. I don't trust the numbers or the plan provided so i'm no better then I was before dishing out $1300 bucks. Ultimately, I've learned that no one is going to care as much about your money and your life as you do.

Highly annoyed and waste of time this credit union is! First off wasting 25.00 dollars is still…read moreexpensive in these hard economic times and it's non refundable! Secondly why didn't you first tell me the additional terms and than proceed to deny my application for the credit and than try and bait me into a co-signer for a loan I don't want? Honestly this credit union is good for depositing petty cash into a savings account. Anything else not so much and forget about trying to build your credit back up with their so called security credit repair cards. Again you will need a large deposit to at least have the credit card for a year to even consider getting a unsecured credit card. He rep I spoke to was even more unhelpful Jose and didn't properly explain all options till after I said this was a waste of time and money. What is the point of using a credit union when you can't utilize it unless you have at least 10,000 in your credit union's account. Be wary when dealing with this credit union they also keep sensitive documents on file for up to 2 years.

DO NOT OPEN ANY BUSINESS ACCOUNT AT THIS CREDIT UNION. Your money isn't protected! I had both my…read morepersonal and business debit cards stolen out of the mail and accessed without the secret pin envelopes that were mailed separately. The bank's security auto-fraud alerted me to a suspicious purchase after $1000s of transaction had already taken place. After filing a police report, and escalating to every department in the coop, the coop still refused to reimburse me the money stolen from my business account, and credited me only my personal debit loss, even when there was clear evidence that money from both of my debit cards was taken from the same ATM at the same time and the criminal investigation is still open. I'm exceedingly frustrated and saddened that I'm needing to write this review. I've been a coop member for over 10 years and have been helped immensely over the years but cannot accept the quality of service in response to my claim when I've received such great care in times past. My only recourse now, besides a law suit, has been to withdraw my money and write a negative review in order to warn others not to open a business account there since business accounts don't afford the same protections as individual consumers. BE WARNED! On 5/24/22 4 months after the initial theft, and escalating my dispute through every rank, Asta Cummings, Cathie Nieves, Samira Rajan, and Rebecca Pear who then finally told me that I needed to speak to Paula, on the supervisory committee. I was informed by her, that her review of the matter still did not evince that the bank was in noncompliance with both internal policies and banking regulations in handling my case and that Federal banking Regulation E protects consumers from electronic funds theft but Regulation E does not cover business accounts; therefore, the credit union is not required to provide credit for the lost funds. I have not had the time or the energy to address this kind of injustice. She literally, gave me no assurance that if my business card was stolen again or mailed and stolen again with illicit purchases, that I would have any protections! I certainly cannot be at fault for requesting bank cards to be delivered the only way I was told was available. I did not receive the cards and honestly cannot believe this is my liability. I believe the fault lies with the coop or it's 3rd party vendor that issued the card as either already active or the coop couldn't protect against someone who feigned themselves as me and/or bypassed the security measures. If someone were to come in and rob the bank would my business not be protected?  The logic of crediting my personal account for the stolen funds but not my business when both debit cards were stolen at the same time doesn't add up. I grant the consumer protection law allows my personal account to be credited but i don't believe that is the sole reason any bank would want to do so. It's because there's an ethical reason to do it not only for one account but for both.  Anything less, honestly isn't just. Every bank, police officer and person I've spoken to about this matter, have all said this shouldn't have been a difficult issue. BE WARNED
