Dr. Morris was my cardiologist for about six years (following a stent procedure) until I moved from San Francisco. He was always professional, courteous and thorough in his treatment of my heart condition. Unbelievably rude doctor. He charges $7,000 for a "membership" fee. Out of pocket. No insurance. I had to reschedule my first appointment due to a work conflict. He wasn't available for weeks and weeks. When I showed up for the re-scheduled appointment, I was 5 minutes late. He rudely told me to leave because I was late and that he would not treat me. Now I've wasted weeks waiting for this appointment to have chronic issues treated have start all over with a new doctor. Avoid!! read more

One of the worst Doctor's I have ever had. Confused, unresponsive and screwed up my post surgery medication more times than I could count. After a year of being his patient, he was unaware I was having a second surgery despite being notified by the surgeon. He failed to call back with INR results three times resulting in a spike in my levels. Each time I called he redirected me to the surgeon who had nothing to do with monitoring my INR. He is arrogant, his staff is confused an inept and they refused to see me for an appointment as soon as I refused to pay Dr. Morris thousands of dollars to become a 'private patient' with unlimited access to him. Basically he is double dipping. He charges you for care if you are dumb enough to pay him outside the system for it, and then the insurance company again. I'm reporting him to the appropriate authorites. This is bad medicine at its best and represents everything that is wrong in our health care system today. read more

I went with a client to see Dr. Morris. There was a LONG wait to get in to see him, so we got on the wait list and - Voila! - we got in earlier than expected. Maureen was diligent and delightful. Dr. Morris came EXTREMELY highly recommended by several physicians. When asked about a cardiologist, his was the name we were given and we were told that he is worth the wait. It's TRUE. He spent time with us. My client's case is extremely complicated. At no point did we feel rushed. We left feeling hopeful that we are on the right track and with significantly more info than when we arrived. Not all the news was good, but even the negative news was delivered in a way that we could understand and cope with. Up until today, my client's heart medications had been managed by her primary care physician. Dr. Morris is putting her on a much more fine-tuned program that considers her whole body health. Every person we came in contact with in Dr. Morris' office was caring and professional. The office itself was well designed so we did not feel crammed in a teeny room with one chair. read more

The two stars are for his staff. Marlene P. is either being paid to make stuff up or is a phantom patient. Sorry. What- ever happended to bedside manners? We know you're busy, but you cannot be abrupt to your patients, especially cardiac patients. This is a serious issue. I mean if you're not a people person, maybe the morgue would be a better fit. At least if you offend or hurt (emotionally) those patients they won't complain. And you don't have to interact with them either. If you schedule their appoints back-to-back with other patients the morgue patients aren't affected. But sometimes we live ones need and deserve a little more time. Another thing, if you're going to have your office bill your patients for tests which you supposedly "reviewed" it might help to have the current test results in the patient's folder. read more

After weeks of waiting for an appointment with Dr. Morris, he refused to treat me because I inquired about his mandatory arbitration agreement. NOT because I refused to sign, mind you. Simply for ASKING whether it was necessary. As an attorney, I try not to waive my right to a jury trial. I feel particularly strongly about the right to a jury trial where medical malpractice is concerned. So I called the front desk and asked whether Dr. Morris insisted on such a waiver before treating me, or whether I could decline to sign it. The assistant told me signing was essential. I told her I would consider my options. After an hour or so, I called back and said that I would reluctantly sign, for fear of waiting many more weeks to see a new cardiologist. I biked up to 2100 Webster Street. As I parked my bike, Dr. Morris's office called my cell phone. The assistant told me Dr. Morris would not treat me. Again: not for refusing to sign a draconian arbitration agreement. Just for ASKING about the agreement, and then agreeing to sign. That is heartless and cruel. I deserved better. If you're looking for a cardiologist, so do you. read more

What an unbelievable doctor (with an unbelievable staff!). The staff is lovely. Maureen at the front desk is so friendly and kind. Really great person to be greeted by and taken through the process (and super efficient). Dr. Morris is incredible. He is so knowledgable and friendly and compassionate. I am extremely pleased to have been referred to him, and had one of the best doctor experiences ever. So much information that was easily explained, there was no time pressure (They clearly schedule appointment to make sure the patients have time vs. being rushed through everything). 5 stars is not enough. I wish there was a higher rating I could give to Dr. Morris. Unlike my original cardiologist, I felt that Dr. Morris genuinely cared about me and my situation and took the time to walk me through the pros/cons for every crazy decision i had to make about my health. As some background, I was diagnosed with RF in early 2009 and was originally referred to Bruce Brent. (FYI, he sucks...don't even bother wasting the copay on that prick.) 2 months after my initial diagnosis, I was admitted to the hospital with bacterial endocarditis. Dr. Morris was the cardiologist on call that day. From the minute I met him, he was nothing but attentive, sympathetic, knowledgeable, and just an overall cool dude. Case in point, he walked into my hospital room one day just as I was gorging on an In-and-Out cheeseburger. Rather than giving me the cardiologist Schpeil, he goes, "That looks really good. Now I want one." As for the health issues, Dr. Morris explained that bacteria had grown on my valve and a piece of had broken off and given me a minor stroke. Normally, they would have gone in and removed the bacteria. However, because of the stroke, there was a risk that i could bleed out in surgery, so they were treating with IV antibiotics to either give my brain time to recover or get rid of the bacteria all together. He managed to explain the situation without being condenscending to me and my friends and family....and that takes skill!! 2 weeks later, I ended up going into congestive heart failure, and surgery became my only option. My brain had healed enough that the risk of bleeding out was greatly reduced. Dr. Morris then walked me through the pros and cons of going with a pig valve or a mechanical valve if Dr. Gaudiani (aka Dr. Gaud...awesome!!) was unable to repair the valve. Thankfully, I never had to make that decision as they were able to repaid the damage. Its been 9 months since the fiasco, and I am 100% healthy. Throughout the surgery and recovery, I felt and continue to feel that Dr. Morris cared as much about my health than myself. So kudos to him! read more

Dr. Morris has a comforting and sincere bedside manor. He conservatively and confidently pursues all options and gathers a full spectrum of information before advising us. Best of all, he is eager to educate us along the way, which increases our confidence at each step. My fiance has been to over 32 Doctors...and over 5 Heart specialist on the West Coast (b/ween LA and SF)...and We have found Dr. Morris to be TOP Quality! Thank you to Dr. Morris! I have seen Dr. Morris for 3+ years and find him to be an excellent specialist. I have been intending to write a review for some time, hoping it would help others searching for a good cardiologist on Yelp. When I saw a recent negative review, I was finally motivated to weigh in with a vote of confidence for Dr. Morris based on my personal experience. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion. In that spirit, I can, without hesitation, state that find Dr. Morris to be competent, communicative and caring. Dr. Morris projects excellent patient empathy and is totally unpretentious (sadly, an uncommon quality with many docs). His assistant, Maureen, has always been helpful, friendly and responsive. It is true that it often takes weeks to get an appointment but Maureen will work with you. (That said, it is reassuring to know that you are putting your cardiac care in the hands of a professional who is in high demand.) Finally, my internist, who I respect greatly, is a fan of Dr. Morris for the same reasons that I am, including his competence and bedside manner. Ironically, I may have to move on from Dr. Morris because it appears that he is not currently in network with my insurance provider. Dr. Morris has been my cardiologist for several years. He is very knowledgeable and has always made me feel comfortable and well-informed about my cardiac status. He is also extremely personable. I actually rather enjoy my visits to his office. It is my happy impression that Dr. Morris is on my side and that his staff will do their best to make my journey over the road to heart health a pleasant one. The cardiologist I saw before Dr. Morris was a frequent no-show for scheduled appointments. I had an average of three scheduled appointments for each actual visit. When he was a no-show, his staff would keep all his patients stacked up in the waiting room for protracted periods before at last announcing that he would be unable to see anyone and we would all be required to reschedule. I felt all of us were on a broken-down assembly line and that none of us were seen as real people. I have seen a poorly run cardiology practice, in other words, and thus can have a real appreciation for one that is done right. Dr. Morris is one of my favorite doctors. Dr Morris is human, and nobody is perfect. But he has excellent human qualities that most other doctors don't, and he is, by many accounts, a highly skilled doctor as well. And he went to Haiti to help out. That's righteous. read more

I just went to Dr. Morris for the first time today and he far exceeded my expectations. At no point during the meeting did I feel that he was in a rush or was not 120% focused on diagnosing the issue. After going through my full health history and doing a few necessary tests, he spent a good 20-25 minutes explaining every detail of the prognosis (using a drawing) and what steps we were going to take to treat the issue. I walked out of that office feeling very confident that I am in good hands and it puts me at ease knowing that Dr. Morris will be helping ensure a smooth treatment. read more

I can guarantee this Cardiologist to be one of the best. He is caring and takes time to listen to his patients. I was the nurse managing the cardiac cath lab when he was doing his fellowship in cardiology. I can guarantee that he is a genuinely wonderful physician.
