My husband booked my son into Sussex Lodge for 4 nights…read more Upon arrival my son found that his room had dirty carpets, stained bedlinen and windows with gaps round the frame, making the room draughty and filled with continuous street noise. The en suite did not appear to have been cleaned for some time, with filthy limescale-encrusted shower and toilet and the previous occupant's used toiletries still in the room. He was also informed that breakfast was to be charged at £5 per day even though it clearly states on the home page of the website that this is included in the price. When he queried this the owner claimed that it was an old website" and no longer in use, even though the booking had been made and payment taken via that very site. All in all my son found Sussex Lodge to be sadly lacking in even basic cleanliness and care and consideration towards guests and would not recommend a stay there to anyone.

Breakfast is as healthy as you want it to be with lots of choice for those on diets such as vegan or gluten-free. Of course we have super fast Broadband, but there are fridges (with free drinks and snacks) and Nespresso machines in every room. We can produce tailor-made tours of the area or recommendations for hundreds of country & riverside walks or cycle routes nearby, including many in the Royal Parks. Expect to be well looked after.

The manager told me he had no reservation in my name, even though I had my reservation confirmation with me. He still stated that there was no reservation for me, but he could give me a room for 55 pounds-ten more than my orginal price, which I had already paid. I ended up spending the night at the airport.

Windsor is such a great alternative to London and so close to Heathrow. Bob kindly shuttled us in to town so we could tour Windsor Castle . Doreen recommended The Green Oak, a gem of a restaurant a short walk from the B&B. We arrived very early and they were busy with breakfast but they accommodated us by refreshing our rooms first so on our return from Windsor we could collapse briefly before dinner.
