These however were outdate. from a very controlled an disciplined environment into a tuition driven school. our child was exposed to vaping, edibles, small kids selling alcohol and bullying. First she was bullie, then trying to fit in, she went alon with the 'cool' crown who did all the above stuff and they are in grade 8. we have raised the issue to the school but nothing. Hence our child got pulled in even further in only 1 year. We even coma to the school that she was not place in the right academic level but nothing. The headmaster did not even repl. the teachers might have stupid the subject but seem not to be qualified to teach. I would not recommend sending your child to this school!

They have sneaky fees that when asked where it is stated on their webpage, they avoid the answer. You also have to send your email multiple times because they typically answer half of the questions. Also they allow the instructors to select the books and the books are terrible. Like if you try to work outside of the class lessons, you are lost. The structure of the class was suuuuper slow. I got to where I brought other work to do at the same time because it was at such a snails pace. I have taken other language courses where there was MUCH more interaction among students, even online. When I asked about a refund, they made it clear that you have to request in the first week of the course. I found that a bit tough because I think most people are hopeful it will get better. Soooo it feels like they tell you it's money back guaranteed but create a system where it's difficult for the consumer to comply. Furthermore, they provide you "options" so that "you are satisfied" but the option to transfer to another course isn't realistic because every instructor uses a different book. Or they offer to let you join a different class in the following month but you have to pay a fee to do that. I didn't want to chance paying more money to have a repeat experience. Furthermore, the month offered isn't compatible with other life stuff, but I was not offered to select a month that is more suitable, hence providing options that aren't doable to say that you provided options of "good will" (they bolded "good will" multiple times in their email). So I guess it depends on what you want, something cheap and you may learn something, or higher quality, probably more expensive but will most likely learn more than a few things.

I signed my 17 year old daughter up for two weeks of beginning German at City College. On the…read morefirst day, after having completed the language test, she was put in a German class that far exceeded her abilities. That was frustrating but a small inconvenience. However, she did tell the staff she was feeling ill and felt she had a fever. They were dismissive of her(didn't even have a thermometer to check) and essentially brushed her off. Day 2 she came up positive with Covid. Thank god I was still in town. The woman in charge of student health was much more interested in defending her position(why she didn't help my sick child) than having any concern for her well being. This staff person should not be anywhere near education or young people. What a horrible person. My daughter has attended numerous summer camps and is very independent, this was not "In her head". As an educator I also know a well run program when I see one. Parents, you have been warned.
