The restaurant is spacious with colorful and expressive art all over the walls. You're hearing Latin music in the background there's a large bar in the left corner. The menu is big, there's so much that you would want to try so go with the big party. Your offered three different styles of plant proteins when you order your traditional dish. We had the Pasteles, Mofongo, ALcapurria and Sorullitos. Everything came out hot and fresh. The Mofongo was out of this world. And I make Mofongo. The Alcapurria was delicious of Smith's first time having it. The portions are large enough to share. Or have leftovers. You are so lucky to meet the owner. The super friendly gentleman he gave us the backstory of why he started this restaurant. Changing his diet helped him recover from cancer. And it was about the way he ate. So he wanted to share this opportunity with meat eaters. So the whole goal of his restaurant is vegan food for meat eater so they can see that they are not missing anything. The owner also is a famous DJ. He has a talk show radio. And he's been doing it since the 70s. It was a lovely experience my Bestie found this restaurant for me. Because I'm a vegan/sometimes pescatarian. I don't get to try all the foods. It was such a lovely experience.

They have everything from breakfast to lunch to dinner, wine, bakery, deli items and more. Its located right by the highway so it's busy and good. My dad has taken me here in the past. Okay so not super expensive but definitely on par with tourist pricing due to location but I can't knock the hustle

Pulled up to Vistamar Bakery and immediately got that feeling--this isn't a tourist spot, this is a real neighborhood panadería. You can tell right away it's been part of the community for a long time (they've been serving people for decades), and that energy shows in everything AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking moreover Seating: Casual, no-frills seating. This is more of a grab food, sit, eat, and go kind of place. Room for maybe about 20 people. Vibes: Welcome to Carolina! Not the most flashliest place to be in Puerto Rico but still a nice steady gem (apparently Carolina is the birthplace of Reggaeton. The spot itself is a pretty simple - an old-school Cuban/Puerto Rican bakery vibes where there's photos of food here and there and your sweet smells of coffee and baked goods. You got regulars coming in, quick orders being called out coffee flowing nonstop. Not aesthetic, not curated--just real, everyday life of Puerto Rico FOOD / DRINKS Café con Leche (Recommend) Simple and comforting. Warm, slightly sweet, and exactly what you want from a local bakery coffee--nothing fancy, just done right. There's sugar on the side for you to make the necessary adjustments. Savory Pastry (Recommend) Grabbed a pastry with some beef in it (think along the lines of a ham-and-cheese or meat-filled pastry), and it hit. Flaky on the outside, warm and savory inside--perfect quick bite that pairs well with the coffee. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Straightforward and efficient. Feels like a place where: They know their regulars. I had a bit of a language barrier but they were patient with me. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good selections, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. A true local spot. Not flashy, not trendy--but that's exactly why it works. If you want to experience real everyday Puerto Rican bakery culture, this is it. TIPS * Great place to grab breakfast before heading out

Her baking skill are incredible and we had the pleasure of eating the following amazing treats (tres leche cake with pistachios, guava cookies, coffee and tiramisu) each treat was to kill for and baked to perfection. We fell in love with the owners mother as she made us feel like we were part of the family it hard to find a place that offer great customer service but this family sure makes you feel welcomed. Before we left we bought a chocolate cake with a lemon icing, guava cookies, coconut macaroons and a small tart for our family in NY. All I can say is that when we returned to NY every treat was go in 60 seconds. Talk about diabetic coma! But we can't wait to go back in January to get some more sweets.

The whole space just feels like someone is trying to create a nice Latin bakery coffee vibe, but it falls short because the staff is miserable and bothered by the customers. As part of our order we asked for 3 cafe con leches - none of them had sugar (no problem), we asked for some sugar, the woman behind the counter replied "what kind", I reply "what kind do you have?" - she lets out a huge sigh rolls her eyes and says "regular and diet" - I say regular. She slings like 7 packets on the counter and walks away. My mother in-law who was traveling with us mentions that her cafe con leche was too dark (it was too dark it was more like a cortadito than a cafe con leche - but I like that so it was all good for me). My mother-in-law approached the counter and was ignored for some time until the cashier gestured to the same sugar packet lady - she promptly asked what she wanted, when she explained her request for a little extra milk she snapped back with "you should have asked earlier". These are just a couple examples of our experience there. Again, as a Miami native, and Latina I'm very familiar with the Latin bakery concept. Our experience was unfortunate. I hope the owners read this review and are able to make adjustments.
