In my experience, dealing with lawyers can feel like an expensive and drawn-out process. By the…read moretime everything is settled, it often seems like the legal fees add up quickly, and you might feel as though you've spent more than you expected. While some lawyers certainly provide valuable help, it can still feel like, at the end of the day, they get a significant portion of your money. If you're considering hiring one, I'd strongly recommend asking detailed questions about billing, fees, and expected costs upfront.

I've heard a lot of negative things about lawyers, but my experience with Steve was quite the contrary. He was patient, kind and understanding rather than take advantage of me when I was extremely vulnerable. He gave me excellent direction which in turn saved me lots of time and lots of money. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND anyone who needs a lawyer or legal advice to go with Steve, he is sincere and above all is extremely knowledgeable about the law. Definitely one of the 'best' lawyers I've come across. -Trevor E

Consumer Warning: $1,000 Charged for Zero Services; JusticeNet Rules Ignored…read more I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Caleesis Telesh. I hired her through the JusticeNet program, which is designed to help low-income individuals access legal help at capped rates. In my case (ODSP), the rate was capped at $130/hour. The Issues: Predatory Billing: Before performing any work, she required a $1,000 payment via e-transfer. She never provided a written retainer or a signed contract outlining the scope of work, which is a standard professional requirement. No Results: I was seeking help with a license reinstatement. After paying her, I received no legal documents or proof of work. In the end, I resolved the issue myself with one phone call to the insurance provider, as confirmed by an email from Allstate Insurance on Jan 9, 2026. Refusal to Refund: Despite doing zero work, she refused a refund and produced an "interim invoice" after the fact, labeling the $1,000 as a "consultation." Based on JusticeNet rates, an $885+HST consultation would require nearly 8 hours of time, which never happened. Professional Record: Prospective clients should be aware that this lawyer has a public record with the Law Society of Ontario (Case 2023 ONLSTH 117) regarding professional conduct. I have filed a formal fraud dispute with my bank and am in the process of a Law Society complaint. If you are looking for a lawyer who follows program rules and provides transparent billing, look elsewhere.

They immediately put me in touch with Dr. Josh Brandis, part of the Toronto Accident Rehab group, who visited my home for a month and a half to help me heal . Michelle Kudlats was in charge of my case and she did an amazing job helping me through all the blazing hoops. It was by no means an easy case because the driver did not have a license or insurance (and then he disappeared!) But Michelle kept fighting and she and Dr. Brandis made sure I did not pay a penny for ANY of my health expenses. When the settlement finally came through I was thoroughly shocked about the amount of money I received. I can tell you it was about 5x what I was expecting to get. I think many lawyers get you in and out of their system as fast as they can, committed to getting you a settlement, but not willing to put in a lot of extra effort. Michelle did this for me and I am very grateful!
