I had a poor experience at Charisma. My root touch-up did not match exactly the rest of my hair. My highlights were cut out after I asked not to touch them, as I couldn't get more partial highlights that day. The stylist took thinning shears and went through my whole short cut, making it really frizzy. (I didn't realize what she was doing at the time.) The profile was really unflattering, and it was much too expensive. I was there three hours, a long time. Just really pay attention and not talk while getting your hair done, and make sure you're getting what you came for. Ask BEFORE your service how much it will cost. I have been coming to Charisma Salon for years. I had been on a long and frustrating journey to stylists and salons all around Erie and could not find somewhere I felt comfortable and consistently received good results, people I clicked with, or stylists that listened to what I wanted. That all changed when a friend recommended Charisma. I've have had many different stylists here over the years and they have all been wonderful. Everyone is very friendly, and most importantly, I always walk out with a cut and style that I love. They honestly make me feel beautiful. If you are frustrated with the service or results you've received, you should check this salon out. The atmosphere is chill, yet professional - they're expanding (to be completed in a few months) and the newly upgraded space looks like it will be beautiful and trendy - a definite asset to the downtown area. do not go to this salon. they doubled the price that they quoted me over the phone, 2 days after i left the salon and put my hair up in a bun i noticed that the toner did not take to any of the hair underneath. when i call them and ask them if they would fix it, they told me i would have to pay again. i've never known a hair salon in my life that would not fix something that they did wrong and make the customer pay again to fix their mistake. read more

I cannot express enough how amazing these girls are! I came in from out of town for a wedding and messaged them on a Thursday asking for 4 hair appointments for Saturday afternoon, not only did they call me back quickly saying they could do it but the girls stayed past closing to help us. At no point did we feel like we were being rushed out or anything despite how late it was! Needless to say our hair looked great, and we even got some great recommendations for food and drinks in the area. I am a huge foodie and who would've thunk my first review on Yelp would be for hair and not food! I got my haircut yesterday by Kerry and I do NOT recommend seeing Kerry for a cut. My "cheekbone" length bangs turned into blunt-above-the-eyebrow bangs that make it look like my 5 year-old nephew had run across my forehead with a pair of scissors.
