There is no shade but there are a few things to do while you wait for the electrons to flow. A North Carolina ABC store is close but I'd recommend walking over to Luigi's Pizza, the best New York style in Charlotte. A pho restaurant, McDonald's, froyo, Chick-Fil-A, IHOP, sushi, another pizza place, Publix, Lowe's Home Improvement and a full Walmart Supercenter. This is located just off I-485 not far from where it meets I-77. Convenient location. Two exits to the shopping center, the one to the west exits onto Arrowood and that takes you right to I-485. Now, the bad: pricing is a bit on the high side here. $7 just to plug in (before you even pay for the charge) is a bit insane, and unless you have no other choice, I'd probably avoid them in favor of their main competitor's network (that charges more for the charge itself, but without a hookup fee [overall costing about the same for an 80% charge, but less if you need less]).

Easy since I have a CCS adapter. This station is next to the Discount Tire and there is plenty nearby. Deli and retail and Famous Toastery for a proper sit down meal.
