We left because after seven years my middle school daughter was still completely ignored by all attendees. Before that, I read an article about youth group being "too emotional" that concerned me about this church and was told because I read it I had to repent to the ALL male elders (I am female). Understand, I had only shared my concerns with the youth group leader. Next, I knew someone who needed help, and they thought by ignoring her she would go away. I took her to another church so she could get help. Finally, the head of women's ministry -- when we faced a minor struggle concerning volunteers for an outreach -- said we all had to do a year long study reading a leadership book together to address a small problem. She could not solve a minor problem in a two hour meeting. More than half the women at this church have a degree in psychology--but when I asked them individually if they felt they had friends and were cared for at this small church--they said no -- most of them only went because their husbands liked it. Finally, you MUST homeschool or send your kids to a Christian school or you don't matter. The women have lost all sense of hospitality as they only know how to socialize with people in their "Christian bubble."

After falling away from the church for many years - except for the major holidays - a series of life events had me questioning my faith. I explored several area churches from mega to small, in a variety of Christian traditions, and having sporadically attended Princeton Community Church when it was startup in the mid 1990s, I thought I'd give it a fresh look. Senior Pastor Craig Casey leads the way by encouraging you to dig deeper into your faith, challenges you to reach your goals and aim even higher, and to discover your purpose. The Youth Ministry isn't afraid to address the tough issues faced by kids today, and gears the message to the teen audience. The payoff is seeing my children growing into really great people through this additional layer of positive reinforcement. I think this is a great church that seems clear in its purpose and is helping me discover mine. I would recommend it to anyone, no matter what your beliefs.
