Found this place through Yelp and someone else's review…read more I must agree with there review in full but give them 5 stars. The staff running it were these two thia women who were absolutely lovely. We started with spring rolls and chicken satays, then went on to 10 different mains between 11 of us. The portion sizes were quite large and supper cheap, every dish was about $12. The food was amazing and it all came out really quick. Would absolutly come back here and recommend it to others.

Their portions sizes are generous, food tasted fresh with no overly oily aftertaste, the staff were very friendly, service was great, wait times were about 10-15 minutes from the time we ordered to being on our plates. Dishes start from $10.00 and for what we got this is good value for money. We went on a Wednesday night after 7.30pm and the place was quite - however I doubt there won't be many quite nights at this place after people get a taste of what is on offer. $45 fed a family of three but in saying that our eyes were bigger than what we actually ended up eating so yes we were able to take our left overs away. Also the place is clean and so are the toilets - always a bonus in my eyes. So go on head onto Chok Chai Thai - your taste buds will love you for it.

I think I tried nearly everything on the menu and was never disappointed or left hungry. The mixed entrée is a must, so too the Tom Yum soup. They do all the classics well; Pad Thai, Chicken Cashew stir fry and Massamun curry were our usual go tos. We only ate-in once, but they have a nice Thai themed seating area, with lots of Thai customers (always a good sign). You can also hire private rooms for banquets, which would nice for a low key birthday.

When you're in a group full of vegetarians, going to a place like The Thai Archer means having a delicious shared meal made up of lots of different mains. The vegetarian menu is extensive and varied and being able to sample lots of different things was awesome! Those meat-eaters have it great sometimes. Lunchtimes are cheap at The Thai Archer - we got four vege mains for $15 each and appreciated the generous portions of rice that came witht hem. The Panang Pak (red curry) was creamy and delicious, the Pra Ram Long Song (peanut satay veges) was rich and tasty, and the sweet and sour Pad Priew Warn Puk had just the right amount of saucy goodness. Loved this place!

So one rainy night we entered the establishment located on a small strip of stores, with a barbershop and a Chinese restaurant on adjoining sides. The restaurant is longer than it is wide, the lighting and ambiance was just right to draw you in. We were promptly seated by women wearing Chut Thai. We started with the curry puff, golden squid, money bags (thoong thong) and Tom Kha (coconut soup). All very excellent and tasty. The Tom Kha was some of the best I've had. For the main course we had no.40 grilled beef hot plate, no.47 whole snapper in tamarind sauce(they honored our request to put the sauce on the side) and no.55 Drunken noodles. All flavored well and tasty especially the snapper. For desert we had the fried banana and the snow ball (fried ice cream). Both well executed with the banana being ripe and sweet. We parked on the street just outside but they have a private parking lot which we didn't see initially located down a narrow alleyway next to the restaurant. They also kept the restroom very clean. The waitresses were very attentive and the owner/manager was very personable. We split our time between Atlanta and Auckland and I've had my share of Thai food and this restaurant impressed me so much it is now on my rotation list.

The customer service is the best I've experienced in Auckland, and the restaurant is just the cutest little place. I used to live in Thailand so I consider myself a connoisseur of Thai food. I ordered a yellow curry and my bf got the pad Thai (he is on a mission to find the best pad Thai). This was definitely one of the best curries I've ever had. Super authentic! And the presentation is so good. My partners pad Thai even came with a little carrot flower - how cute is that!! We were having such a good time that I didn't want to leave, so we ordered dessert. They have mango sticky rice!! They serve it with dairy ice cream (not necessary for this vegan, but my partner ate it just fine) which was so good!! We also had two chang beers & some veggie spring rolls to start - so good!! This place makes me want to go back to Thailand yesterday! If you're in the area & you're a fan of Thai, definitely check this place out!!

It's a cute place with really sweet staff. I got a green curry made vegan and my boyfriend got a pad Thai with tofu. The green curry was seriously legit. I got a jasmine rice with it. The bf loved his pad Thai and downed it in less than 5 mins, even though the portion was pretty good sized. It looked beautiful but tbh we were too hungry for photos. I ate half my green curry and asked for the rest to go. The server brought it back packed in a cute lil container in a bag and he told me that he packed me some rice to go with it. That seriously blew my mind, I've never had a server do that before. Like I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite Thai restaurant. We ended up spending like an hour and a half at this restaurant because it was so cute and cozy and intimate. We had some good talks and drank some wine and overall it was just fab. Our bill was only like $46, which is apparently cheap for Auckland. I was impressed and I would totally recommend this place! I will definitely be back

The staff here are really friendly and they know how look after their customers well. The food is so good with decent portions too; especially the lunchtime special which is only $13.50 for a meal of your choice. And there are plenty to choose from. The only shit thing about this place is that their hours are quite limited, especially during lunch. You gotta get in quick before they close. Other than that though I'd go here every day for lunch if I was around the area, and had the cash.
