I really dont want to share this secret but as Halloween is almost over I think it's now safe. this…read moreshop is huge and great for costume accessories. The ladies who work here really know their stuff and are fully trained make up specialist, so if its a false nose or false lashes, they will almost always sort you out. What's so great about it is the size, there is room to browse even when you are in there with 30 other Halloween wannabes, and they hold more stoke of white face paint and fake blood than anyone else I know. You can also get bargains here if you ask. When you are at the counter, see what alternatives they have for the products you've chosen and they'll give you cheaper options if available. They also have sales on great branded professional make up. It's like play time for adults in here. So now you know for next year and you'll see me rushing past the other idiots who are desperately looking for fake blood on the 31st October in central London.

I love this theatrical/screen makeup shop in the heart of theatre-land. It's a great place to pick…read moreup makeup and synthetics for costumes. If you need it they may well stock it - fake lashes, fake blood, fake beards, fake ears, fake noses and fake teeth. Excluding the prosphectic body parts, I'm quite sure (but yet to test) that some of the theatrical makeup they stock could double up and be quite wearable day-to-day. I'm very excited to find they stock glittery gold make up - solid gold when applied thick, and shimmery when rubbed in. Will definitely come back to purchase it for a Ziggy Stardust karaoke night (if I ever organise one) and then will wear it as an eye shadow. I particularly like the brushes, and make up brush holders here. They also stock a huge range of makeup from Illamasqua - normal consumer make up with a theatrical flair - I have seen it described as the 'new MAC'.

East End Cosmetics is well worth a look if you want a bit more variety of hair and skin care then…read morewhat you are getting in your local Superdrug. I'm not sure how I discovered this place, but it makes me happy to come here because I get to pick up all my Palmers cocoa butter goodies. The range of Palmers that they have here is more than I have seen in any chemists, and it is also cheaper, by almost a third of the price. There is a full range of beauty care for Asian and Afro skin and hair. What I also like is the slightly cheesy range of hair accessories and jewellery. Have you ever wondered where all the velvet alice bands have gone? Look no further! Still, there are a few so-kitch- its Shoreditch-cool gold earrings and necklaces to be found here, at tiny prices.

I didn't receive the items I ordered…read more Showed as delivered on Royal Mail website. Contacted seller and asked them to contact Royal Mail as they will only deal with seller and not with the intended receiver. Seller stated that Royal Mail claimed that it had been delivered to my house, but I've now spoken to all my housemates and confirmed that they were on placement or working and were not in the house at the supposed time of delivery. The signature that Royal Mail supposedly got from me looks nothing like mine, and I was at Uni at the time of delivery. It could have been a mistake on Royal Mail's part, but there's nothing I can do on my end to rectify that and I resent paying money for items that didn't arrive at my house. If they had pursued a complaint with Royal Mail instead of just accepting what they said I wouldn't be writing this review, but as they didn't I wouldn't recommend dealing with this shop as they won't have your back if there's a delivery issue.

Location: Oxford Street, London, England LAX somehow lost my luggage with all my toiletries and photo op clothes inside! Ugh! Fortunately London is in a First World Country where I can still get my mandatory metrosexual needs. Tbh I never heard about Boots until the English gal at the theatre told me about... Boots is the British version of CVS/Walgreens in America. It's the largest pharmaceutical chain in the UK boosting about 2,500 locations in the UK and elsewhere. Boots dates back to 1849 starting as an herbal medicine shop in Nottingham. The location I visited was located on Oxford Street in Mayfair, London. I walked over... "But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own And in your eyes you're holding mine..." Entering Boots was so familiar. The security up front, cashiers to the side. The pharmacy in the back. I came specifically for - eye contacts solution. Boots had what I needed and more. I was now in search of small scissors that I could transport on a plane. Then I turned and she... "Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight..." The young lady, with shades of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, turned to me and asked if I needed help. I told her what I needed and she walked me over to each spot. Scissors, tweezers, deodorant, toothpaste, juicy apple shampoo, and even shortbread fingers! All the while I'm admiring how gorgeous this Boots gal is. Hmm I wonder was she wearing equestrian boots? Did she ride a horse? Would she go out with me to a romantic picnic on the English country side? Barefoot on the glass. Hmm... "Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets To carry love, to carry children of our own..." In the end, Boots had everything I was looking for, sans the Lysol wipes. I did get a generic version at Tesco. Boots, as far as I know had nothing to do with equestrian boots or the like, instead it's named after the founder with a surname of Boot. I admit my fantasies got the best of me oh my! The English gal, the Pharmacy gal, not the theatre gal, who helped me was certainly gorgeous and Brit proper. I hope one day to have kids with her, maybe? "Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, w/ you between my arms Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song I have faith in what I see... Now I know I have met an angel in person And she looks perfect I don't deserve this You look perfect tonight... You look perfect tonight..." https://youtu.be/eiDiKwbGfIY

This is probably the larger Boots on Oxford Street, it shouldn't be confused however with the…read moresmaller branch inside West One Shopping Centre, which is pretty easy to do considering Boots have so many branches on London's flagship and main shopping street. This store opened in 2005, and is Boots' flagship store, I do like the history of the store they have in a wall with photos of the history of the company, Boots and its' other stores on the street and foundation which is pretty cool, although this is something many flagship stores do it is something I like. The basement level has the food and drinks section, for me, this is a waste and should always be on the first floor. Why? People want a grab and go beverage or lunch without messing around, trying to find an escalator or elevator which I had to do, and with only one lift in the store which was rather slow and making strange noises, it wasn't the most pleasant experiences one would associate with a flagship store. The selection of to go food and beverages were surprisingly poor and overpriced, and lacked to even a smaller Boots store, for a flagship store this is far from what one would expect. The staff seemed a little rude and seemed to get in the way more than they did help and I also didn't like the fact that they were constantly announcing a special promotion at the front of the store every two minutes, it was frankly a tacky and repetitive mess. Store size and selection of some items is good and I do like the history of the Boots brand set out in an interactive, colourful and dynamic way however the selection and location of beverages and snacks, issues with the staff, the store feeling tacky, and the basement perhaps needing some TLC as it didn't feel as modern as the rest of the store, and had awful mobile signal and lifts. 2*
