We had great manhattan cocktails to start, the gem salad with blue cheese and thin bacon chips, beef tenderloin and black cod with big pieces of mushroom and wild rice. All filling and nicely prepared, a great meal after a strenuous hike.

When we arrived at the gated Lake Moraine road, we were yelled at by the Parks Canada gate attendant which left us shaken, but Rosie turned our day completely around! We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the lodge. We were also asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked if they were allowing canoeing, and she hooked it up for us right then even though we were the first of the season. Our room was stunning and they left a really nice welcome gift for us, a chocolate bar and two Moraine Lake Lodge water bottles (metal, super nice!). We loved our little fireplace and we could not believe the view from our room. I took a bath and I really liked how they give you a little bath cube from L'Occitane. Their bath products smell great! When I got out of the tub my fiancé came in carrying a bottle of champagne! He said the front desk staff was super nice in helping him set up the surprise. We had a great time sipping champagne and sitting on our porch. For dinner we ate in the dining room, and the service was very slow... I made eye contact with our server a couple of times to signal we were finished but she still took a long time to come to our table. We were there for more than two hours. The food was good though, just be aware that dinner is an occasion. We walked by the lake after dinner and it was great because there was no one there. The next morning, we got up super early but not early enough to avoid the tour buses. I think they come in at 4 a.m. and descend on the rockpile. That's one thing about staying here that's not ideal. You're sharing the lake, the cafe, and the gift shop with lots of tourists throughout the day. We could not even grab anything from the cafe because the line of tourists at 8 a.m. was so long. The complimentary breakfast was my favorite meal here but you do need a reservation. We asked the receptionist if we could get sandwiches to go ordered even though we missed the deadline, but she said no. It was a bummer- so definitely book reservations and ask for sandwiches in advance if you're not going to be there between 12:30-2 p.m. Our breakfast service was much better! They give you a pastry and fruit cups. It was the BEST PASTRY EVER. It was maple and we loved it; the server was kind enough to bring us another helping without us even asking. We both got a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and homestyle fries. Overall, we both had a great time but we definitely enjoyed the privacy of our balcony the most. If we had more days here we would have opted to sign up the guided hikes. There's not many other things to do here besides hike, read and relax with no pool, spa or fitness center but I do think when you consider having access to lake moraine, a complimentary breakfast and canoe ride, the price feels not as bad.

When…read moreI say we I mean my little family composed of me, the spouse, the two boys (one 9 and the other 16) and our two small dogs. The cabin had ample room for all of us with a queen sized bed in the bedroom with delightfully European duvets and comfortabel but firm matress. The boys slept on the fold down futon in the living room. Kitchenette was well stocked with all the amenities except for bar sized fridge was a little disappointing. Bathroom had a shower with hot hot water! And everything was clean and well kept and wonderfully manicured and landscaped. A fairytale camping spot with all the luxuries of a hotel. The huge firepit was a hit with the boys and there was even a barbeque for grilling outside. The dogs were more than thrilled to wander the woods and meadows without a care. Hubert and Sonja the owners were a pleasure and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Our only regret was that we didn't take the oportunity to book a dinner at the main lodge to try the food. Just outside of Golden a five minute drive so access to amenities is easy. We will definitely return here next summer.

Found the housekeeping did well at first sight and closer look at closet window etc it was Bed is medium soft so we didn't mind. And the pillows case had stitched in ( soft hard ) nice touch Though both rooms we felt it was a bit colder, even though we spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to get the furnace to blow warm air. After at least 10 minutes in both rooms we gave up. First night we went into the hot tub and pool area ( hot tub wasn't extremely hot 40 c more like 30, no way to adjust the temperature and the jets were not that powerful). But still nice enough to soak in. The pool was nice though . The breakfast Continental was extreme there was ( pancake, omelette, sausage, potatoes, cold cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, yogurt, juice's coffee teas, cinnamon buns fruit hard boiled cold eggs ) wow !!

Our rooms was nice and clean, we had a great view of the mountains. I loved opening the drapes every morning to get that view. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. We had no issues and the place was completely full. The complimentary breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs, omelettes, turkey sausage patties or pork links, and various fruit. The fruit was always plentiful. They also had cinnamon buns, yogurt, boiled eggs, a pancake machine, oatmeal and the list goes on. The breakfast area although busy was kept clean and stocked. Coffee was always fresh and no line up when I went to get breakfast or coffee. In general this was a clean hotel. The only thing I have a suggestion on, is there's a sign in the room saying if you don't want new towels keep them hung up, if you want them replaced throw them on the floor. Well we always hung ours up and they gave us fresh ones each time. We did discuss it with the front desk to which they only said "ok thanks". That's my only suggestion if I don't want a new towel don't give me one please. I would stay here again. The price was right as well. We paid $800 for the 3 nights.

Our bedding smelled strong of bleach. The beds were a medium soft so fine by us. The room was clean by first sight. Was able to adjust the the thermostats easy to keep it warmer and cooler . Our stay was quiet for the amount of people who was there. I called Pestige Inn to request for a cancellation, and they were not willing to help. My reservation says pay at hotel. Since we never checked in, they still charged my credit card for the one night stay that never happened. We called Expedia for help and this hotel refused to offer a refund. If you're traveling from Banff or Jasper to this hotel on hwy 1, make sure to check road conditions. Apparently, hwy 1 to Golden closes at 10pm every night and they do not warn you up ahead. When you call the hotel, they will not inform you either. It had left a lot of people stranded.
