Vinegar Hill is a delightful little shop that stocks an eclectic mix of homeware, stationary,…read morejewellery & childrens ware. The store is tastefully decorated & beautifully presented, but the interior is rather rigid & doesn't encourage browsing; a lot of the displays are very intricately put together & I don't always feel comfortable disturbing them. It's certainly not a store that I feel happy taking my young daughter into for fear of certain damage & doom, which is a shame as they do stock some delightful children's products mixing smaller, unusual ranges with popular brand names. The homewares & stationary are always well stocked & presumably carefully chosen, the majority are simple yet tasteful items, & are ideal for casual gifts. Also worth a mention are the pleasing selection gift wraps & cards, these are always different & vastly better than those on the highstreet stores & noramlly very reasonably priced. Generally, a nice store, just needs to relax a little!

I went to The Bed Warehouse in Perry Barr to find i could choose from over 2000 frames, mattresses, headboards and so on. This place was perfect if you're in the market for anything bed related. Graham Hollier is the boss, he started the warehouse over twenty years ago and tells me He's still the first in, in the morning and the last to leave the showroom at night. It's a family run business and the team make sure you leave the store absolutely satisfied. Silentnight, Myer's, Sleepeeze Sealy are among other top brands at reasonable prices with free delivery. I had a super king-sized leather bed with silentnight mattress and it's the best bed in the world, you'll have to take my word for it as my girlfriend reads these reviews!!!

Be prepared though you wouldnt want to have the kids with you as it can get pretty hectic at those times. As a rule on a normal day the store is well stocked and has many of the home essential items at a decent price. The shop is clean and the customer service team are ok although it really does seem to depend on who you have as some can be abit miserable, I did find when asking for an item that they dont exactly go out of their way to help you and tend to give you vague answers and sort of point in the direction you need to be heading for, understandable when the store is busy and they have a queue but not so when its quiet and they just cant be bothered.

An issue at the time of purchase with a faint scuff was quickly sorted via their French Polisher/Restorer/Engineer. A problem with the remote control just last week was handled really well by Owner Roger and Manager Pauline. They made enquiries, contacted me back on a Bank Holiday and offered us a replacement chair (if needed) with a good discount. I would NEVER buy a sofa on-line while there are still shops like this around! Their 1-2-1 advice and back-up is priceless when it's needed. After 8 months the head rest of one had split and the 'leather' had shredded away from it's backing material. The back of the chair was replaced under warranty after a couple of months. However in February this year the same head rest had split again, I wrote to the store, but received no reply. In the meantime similar splits have appeared, on the same chair, where the leather creases, 4 places in all. The only solution is to have the chair recovered, but should I? I will send the store one more letter, recorded this time. After that I will probably dump these chairs and go to a reliable manufacturer.
