This company (which merged with AlpyBus / GVA Transfers in fall 2023 to become AlpyTransfers [1]) seems to make a habit of engaging in fraudulent practices. I scheduled and paid in full for a transfer the week before my three-day trip, and the company confirmed the round-trip booking. The first half (from Geneva Airport to my drop-off location) went perfectly. However, two days later I got a call from company telling me they were changing my pick-up location because they "no longer go there in the winter season". They now wanted me to walk 20 minutes in the pouring rain (despite having paid for door-to-door service). When I declined and asked for the return trip to be cancelled and refunded, I was told by the representative that she would cancel the return, but I needed to send an email to request the refund. I did so. A few days later, they refused to issue the refund, because it had been a "last-minute cancellation". A colleague of mine had the exact same experience. I'd advise against using ChamExpress shared transfers, their T&Cs allow them to leave you with a very long wait time and they will NOT refund you anything despite clearly being unable to deliver their service. We had early morning flights into Geneva, we got a text the night before giving us a transfer time of 2.30pm - almost a 4 hour wait at the airport. They clearly couldn't get a shared transfer in the morning and made sure our pick-up time came in just under their 4hour window in their terms and conditions to avoid having to refund us. We ended up hiring a car, so paid their full fare and for alternative transport. I'm glad we did as we then got a day on the slopes that we would have otherwise missed out on, but it was frustrating to pay them for a service they didn't provide. This lot put the "Cham" in Chamexpress!!! They are an absolute joke! They left us waiting at Geveva airport for 2 hours, only to put us on a huge coach which we had to disembark at a service station and load onto separate mini buses. All in all it took 4 hours to get to our hotel for an hour and a half journey. Then coming back, they wanted to collect us 5 hours before our flight! They are a complete joke!! ChamExpress ruined an otherwise delightful daytrip to Chamonix. My three friends and I took the shuttle from Geneva airport to Chamonix without a problem. HOWEVER, we were supposed to be picked up around 6pm that same day to return to Geneva. The shuttle NEVER showed up. We tried calling the number listed on the pamphlet they gave us many, many times with zero success. Even when someone picked up the phone, he said he was only a driver and couldn't do anything about the situation. Around 8:30pm, we ended up going into the nearby hotels and they workers there were kind enough to call us another shuttle. They said that they had heard MANY similarly horrible stories regarding ChamExpress from other tourists and that the hotels in the area never recommended ChamExpress to their guests. We had to pay extra fare to return to Geneva and we tried for four months to get reimbursed for our round trip ChamExpress tickets and the extra return tickets we had to purchase, but ChamExpress never even bothered to respond to our emails or phone calls. It was a very stressful experience to be stranded in the wrong country, especially when you are a group of young women far from home. Chamexpress claims to be "Chamonix's most reliable, low fare transfer service" between Chamonix and Geneva airport. Well, I can state that I had the most unreliable experience of any transport service I have used. First, the driver was over 1 hour late which caused me to miss my flight and spend the night in Geneva. After the cost of booking a new flight to the US as well as the cost of a hotel for the night, there was nothing resembling "low fare" or reliability. When I complained I was told it was my fault since I would have missed my flight anyway. My recommendation would be to steer well clear of Chamexpress - more like a Sham-express. read more

Definitely avoid Chamexpress if you can. We used them recently and they had mistakenly taken incorrect contact details so did not pick us up, but did not bother using one of the alternative methods to contact us and tell us. When I called they arranged another transfer, but when they picked us up, the transfer was delayed by a further 45 minutes because of passengers who were running late and a detour up the mountain. In the end we had to jump out in Chamonix and get a friend to give us a lift so that we wouldn't miss our flight. I have been in touch with them 4-5 times since that trying to get my money back for the transfer we didn't use, and also for the next transfer we had booked that I told them I no longer wanted because I would not travel with them. Unsurprisingly, they were quick to take my money, but after promising they would get back to me numerous times, they still have not got back to me and hold my money for 3 transfers I have not used. Used Chamexpress to go from Avoriaz to Geneva. A helpful driver and very efficient and effective service. Unfortunately, my camera was left on the bus. Chamexpress not only called me to let me know they had it, they also arranged to return it to me and communicated clearly throughout the time. I rode the Cham Express this morning to Geneva Airport from Chamonix Valley. I was a bit nervous since they had a lot of bad reviews. The driver arrived within 5 minutes of the start of possible collection time. He was very nice, spoke perfect English. He swiftly picked up 2 other passengers and we were off. Arrived 30 min early to the airport. I'd be happy to use this service again. read more

I chose this company (among many many others) because the website boasted 'GUARANTEED, SCHEDULED DEPARTURES'. Er.....no. I booked a transfer at 6pm because I needed to make a function in Chamonix at 8pm. I received a message by text less than 24 hours before I was due to travel stating that my departure time had been changed to 1840. Not acceptable. Tried to contact them but was told that it was too late notice to cancel. So, we need to cancel with 7 days notice but they only need a few hours to change things? In the end, we ended up leaving at 1915. Function missed. Returning home, only one departure time available 5 hours before my flight. Sat in Geneva airport for 3.5 hours. Next time I'll just get a private cab which would have been only about 12 euros more per person. read more

I have called the driver who advised that his schedule was changed and he could not provide any additional information. I was assured by phone that I would be picked up at 11 am the following day and receive an email confirmation which I never did. The operator said my address was too complicated to get to so I agreed to wait in a nearby hotel. The van showed up at that hotel 45min early tried up call once and as I didn't pick up left without me. They said there was nothing they could do and I had up wait for another Van 2 hours later. This is after numerous phone calls and emails trying up confirm my initial reservation. What ghastly service. And they insist this is MY fault for not having been there on time! Chamexpress: a 'Cham'bolic 'Cham'. I made the mistake of booking with this company for my flight from Geneva last Sunday. I very nearly missed my flight so was slightly luckier than the customer above, and got to the airport 1 hour before my flight took off. My pick up said it was schedules for 1125-1155am. However I was not collected until 1255 following three phonecalls! At each call they told me the driver was 'on his way'. The driver when he appeared simply told me he had been asked to pick me up as an extra, that I was not on his list, and that my driver must have 'forgotten' about me. Despite sending three messages asking for a full explanation of what happened and refund I have heard nothing. Absolutely shocking customer service. I was on the WMT training course last week and have realised that in their precourse trip notes they recommend to use Mountain Dropoffs for transfers. I now see why! read more

I have booked a transfer from the Megeve Gare Routiere to go to the Geneva Airport on February 20 from Chamexpress. I arrived at the meeting point at 13:50 (10 minutes) before the 14:00 meeting time and the driver nexer showed up. After 30 minutes of stress as I was afraid to lose my flight in Geneva , I was obliged to buy a ticket from another company. The Gare Routiere information desk told me that Chamexpress is not authorize to pick up clients from the Gare Routiere parking. After two months of claiming for a reimbursement of my ticket, I received a reply from the Chamexpress Office Manager that my accusation was not true. This company is unprofessional and dishonest. Do not travel with Chamexpress under any circumstances, they should not be legally operating. They did not show up to collect us for the transfer we had book and paid for from La Thuile to Geneva airport. We tried numerous times to contact them through all the numbers provided and they didn't respond so we had to spend 280 euros on a taxi to the airport. They haven't responded to any of my requests for a refund for the non- service and the taxi and don't answer the phone when you call. They are essentially crooks that shouldn't be allowed a licence. read more

I am yet to board the Cham Express shuttle from Geneva airport to Megeve and I am already terribly disappointed by the service of the attendant at the airport. My flight arrived in Geneva airport two hours before my scheduled shuttle departure. After being told there was no earlier shuttle I was told to find a seat and come back to the desk at 2.15pm. I walked back to the desk at 2.14pm only to be told by a very rude lady that I was late and had missed the shuttle. Because I know she felt a little bit guilty (but still petulant), she told me to run with her immediately to see if we could catch the driver. After running with her outside, with a large suitcase, the driver was nowhere to be found. She proceeded to walk back in shouting towards me to follow her so she could "see" what she could do about putting me on the next shuttle. I made my way inside and stood in front of her at the counter. After she said NOTHING to me for 15 mins I told her in a very strict voice that I would appreciate an acknowledgement and an update on the next available shuttle so I could make my own plans accordingly. She told me I was free to take a taxi if I wished but if I would just wait she was waiting to hear from the office. She also tried to tell me she asked me to arrive at the desk 10 minutes earlier - untrue. I have not experienced anything like this in a long time. Her rudeness was unbelievable. I have heard about the Swiss attitude to foreigners but surely in 2016 we cannot possibly still be dealing with this. I am patiently waiting to board this shuttle. Hopefully I am given a reason to update this review....somehow I doubt it. Tempted to spend the 300 euros it will cost to take a taxi but refuse to dent my wallet in anger. If you can find a few people to share a taxi with, would highly recommend. This type of treatment on a holiday is not worth it. read more

Absolutely the worst airport shuttle experience we've ever had, and we are well-seasoned travelers, both in the US and around the world. About two months prior to our pick-up, we made the reservation, printed our confirmation, and even phoned Cham Express the day before our pick-up in Chamonix to confirm. We showed up 20 minutes early at the required pick-up location, and our pick-up time came and went as the clock ticked closer and closer to our flight departure time in Geneva. When we finally got through to the Cham Express emergency phone number, we were screamed at by the unfriendly and unprofessional woman on the line; she insisted that we had failed to be at the pick-up location on time. About 45 minutes after our pick-up time, we finally ordered a taxi and spent $200 euros for a ride to the airport. We have tried and tried to obtain a refund from Cham Express and they have yet to even reply to our request. We'll certainly return to Chamonix, but we'll never use Cham Express again. read more

Do not take Cham express : they are buglers. I have booked a way from Geneva airport to Passy (a stop before Cham) but my flight got delayed, and when I saw that no one was at the bus station I called them : the driver left 5 mn earlier. This was their last run ! And to summaries their explanation, this is my fault because I didn't took enough time from the lending to the departure of the bus...Perfect service, for 5mn, especially for their last run ! And another one : I also booked a way from Chamonix to Geneva airport for my boss,at the same time as mine. After waiting 25mn outside in the cold, he called them : oups ! they forget him ! So he had to take his car, not to miss his flight, and of course didn't used the return, as his car was at the airport ! the result ???? an explanation : " With regards to your other complaint, unfortunately when you made the booking you managed to override the system and put multiple addresses on one pick up which is where the problem arose, multiple pick ups and drop offs do not show up on our systems and should have been made separately and would therefore be impossible for our automated system to decipher. Once again I would like to apologise for the delay in getting back to you and hope that the information I have provided is satisfactory. Do not use! You will be tempted by the low fares, but it is false economy. Pay a bit extra for a reputable company. We were let down with them in December 2015. They picked us up in Courmayer at 6.15am for a 10.50am flight - they had 4 hours to get to Geneva, but still we missed the flight! This was due to driver incompetence (which the driver freely admitted). Since that time, they have been avoiding correspondence with me - all I want is a refund, I'm not even pursuing them for the £500 additional flight costs and hassle they caused.
