Chameleon Painters LLC is a business that does interior and exterior painting. George gave me a free in-home estimate of $3,250 for labor plus the cost of paint to paint my living room. The job involved patching several torn pieces of drywall (a mirror used to be glued there), priming and painting wooden wainscoting panels, priming and painting two built-in wooden bookcases, and painting two walls. George and his colleague Andres showed up at my house on time for three days for a total of about 11 hours. They beautifully patched up nearly all of the damaged drywall, although one small corner still looks slightly rough. The wainscoting and bookcases, which used to have a dark and old-looking color, now have a modern-looking white color, and the finish is very smooth and non-sticky. They did not sand the wood but instead used Insl-X Stix primer and Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint. They used an air blower to quickly dry in between coats of paint, and I will wait a few weeks before I put items on the bookcase shelves to allow the paint to fully cure. The walls, which used to have a plain beige color, now have a nice-looking grey color. I noticed a very small amount of white paint on my brick fireplace and on my carpet, but I was able to easily remove the paint. George charged me $150 for the Sherwin-Williams Emerald and Duration paint, for which he had a receipt and which was significantly less expensive than what I would pay the store as a consumer. The price for the labor seems a little high, but nearly all paint companies are charging a lot of money during the pandemic, because many homeowners are willing to spend money to improve their homes. Overall, I felt very happy with the results, and I will probably hire this company to paint other rooms in my house in the future. read more
