We were told this wasn't a good enough reason to cancel and weren't allowed to, but could reschedule. And as stated, we are in another state and aren't able to reschedule. We were more than accommodating when we had already showed up the day of our scheduled tour, and I feel as if Character Connection Co. was the exact opposite for us and only care about getting their money. They failed to send a final confirmation the Wednesday before the event, and when asked about it, they blamed it on "technical difficulties". Great venue, bad ownership.

My daughter's wedding was held over Thanksgiving weekend which Mya knew the moment my daughter…read moresigned with her in January. And, that's when things started downhill. Mya never wanted to sign a contract, told my daughter that she didn't discuss the plans until 4 months before the date, and barely showed up for their one and only meeting a few weeks before the date. Mya was very accommodating when she offered for us to drop off the items we were going to us, but when we showed up the leftover dirt, drinks, and rubbish from the previous wedding was still hanging out. The reception area was filthy. We had to clean and put away items, even the ice tea container. Mya did not show up to decorate at all after the tables were set up. She showed up at the rehearsal but did not follow the notes she and my daughter agreed upon. The day of the wedding she barely got the flowers my daughter had into the vases on the tables, didn't have paper towels in the bathrooms, didn't have the sweetheart table set up so we had to do that the morning of, hid the bubbles, I had to go ask for the tables to be bussed, the cake to be cut (which she mutilated the bottom layer), and then did not help put things away that was stated in the non signed contract. If you've read this far the positives were: the venue is beautiful, the venue has decorations (although they are dirty and unkept), the courtyard is spectacular, and the cost is hard to beat. If you want Mya to give a cookie cutter wedding I am sure your day will be wonderful, but if you want your day to be yours, be prepared for the bare minimum from Mya.

Rebecca, the owner of LSD, was amazing to work with. She was efficient, prompt, and easy to get ahold of. She provided her services for up to 2 weeks leading up to the wedding. She helped coordinate all of my vendors and created a schedule for our wedding day. If there were any issues that arose from the wedding day, I never heard it because she took care of everything! My husband and I were just told where to be and what to do. We didn't have to worry about any decision making on the day of the wedding and neither did any of our family members. She even helped us set up our 450 jars of apple butter for each guest (we had 450 guests)! She was the best $800 bucks that I could've spent for the wedding day because my husband, my wedding party, my family, and most importantly I were relaxed for our entire wedding day thanks to her and her LSD staff. Highly recommended!

Things went in the wrong direction from there! I went to the office location to book large letters/numbers we needed and paid for everything there. We provided details for date, place, time they were to drop off the letter for an important event. We even paid extra for delivery to insure there were no issues. Because of their availability they requested we open the venue early which the venue kindly accommodated. The event day came and the letters never arrived at the time agreed upon. We could not get ahold of anyone at the office as calls would go straight to voicemail! It was not only a bad look for the event, ourselves, and more importantly this companies image! I understand mistakes happen which was explained occurred here, however, we should not have to wait for a response to texts, calls, emails, social media messages for almost 48 hours after (Monday morning, event was Saturday). It is irritating when items are paid in full and still somehow missed, makes no sense! What am disappointed in the lack of professionalism that was experienced here! I am writing these review to help others reconsider or take better measures in insuring they receive what is paid for! As I read past reviews I noticed this was not the first time this occurs and could potentially happen again to someone else's important event, which I would not hope on anyone! Hopefully the company takes better measures to fix their issues in fulfilling with their promises to customers.
