Don't take anything expensive that you really care about here. Took in a leather purse with black scuffs. They tried to rub the scuffs out, then rushed and started applying dye without asking. I had to roll with it at that point because the dye was applied, but I should've told them to wipe it off. It wasn't a perfect match, but it would have been okay except the application was very sloppy. Dye on the zipper and seams, bleeding into other areas. It's also uneven with bubbles. I wish I would have just lived with the scuffs or took it somewhere else. They rushed too much instead of taking their time, also they did not consult with me before they started testing the dye or ask if that's what I wanted. I've taken a couple of pairs of shoes here before and they did small fixes, but I won't come here again. Very disappointed because Chambers used to be known for quality work. They don't seem to care anymore and it's disrespectful to customers to do such sloppy work on their belongings.
By means of an update Chambers never responded! I reached out to my bank and shared the story... my bank reached out to Chambers' bank and started a claim. Chambers lost the claim case and I was fully refunded. Stay away unless you want the hassle.
Nope. I feel ripped off. I've had our shoes there for months b/c they have the worst operating hours and we have jobs, so we can't go in the middle of the day to pick up our shoes. The operating hours on their website are WRONG. They're only open from 10 am to 2 pm, Tuesdays through Saturdays. How do we know this, because we tried to pick up our shoes before today but they were closed despite the hours they listed on their website. And then when my husband did leave work in the middle of the day to pick up my shoes, they weren't even done. He had to wait 15 minutes in the store while they actually cleaned the shoes, so we got them back wet. They're now on my patio, drying. You'll see from the photo that they look brown. They're supposed to be a light tan color. As for a $19 shoe repair on another pair, they fixed just the rubber tip of the heel but didn't fill in the nicks nor clean the shoes. You can still see the impressions of my toes inside the shoe and the dirt scuffs on the side. I'm no dope. I've taken my shoes to repair at places around the country so I know what repaired shoes are supposed to look like. They don't even call you to tell you that your shoes are done. In this case, the shoes were at their place for 5 weeks and not a call. Clearly they hadn't done the work anyways. So don't go anywhere where you have to pre-pay for work. Then you're stuck because they already have your money so whatever crappy job they do is the one you have to accept. Oh, and try calling them. Just try--especially during their business hours. No one picks up and there's no voicemail. This was the first time we used this shop and not knowing the lack of quality in their work, my husband brought them another 2 pairs of my shoes--one of them being my wedding shoes--and I can't even call them to tell them to STOP the work b/c I don't trust them. Frankly, I can't help thinking this is actually a money laundering business.
My purse was with them for almost a month and a half to apply a new shoulder strap which to this day has not been done. The first 3 weeks, when I returned to pick up the purse, they could not find my it. Once found, nothing had been done. In being understanding, I said no problem and agreed to come back to pick my purse up in 2 weeks (online reflected great reviews about their business and I wanted to give them another chance - things happen). After 2 more weeks, I went back to pick it up. The purse had been washed and conditioned (not at my request) but nothing else had been done. My request was for a new shoulder strap, not a cleaned purse. I paid in full and was not reimbursed - I guess I have a clean purse and should be grateful?!? I so want to support this business but cannot. The young man assisting me was apologetic both times. And I still paid for a service that I have yet to receive.
This shoe repair shop is the best in LA!! They fixed the sole of my black louboutin's pumps and reconditioned my black Prada boots and Prada purse. The owner, Stephen addressed my concerns and Kamal showed excellent customer service. See pictures attached.

I left a $20.00 deposit and when they were ready I had to pay the remaining balance of $29.00 it's came to a total of $45.00 , I thought that's was extremely too much for what's I needed done but agreed anyway . I went to this shoe repair shop because it's was in my neighborhood and on the suggestion from my sister . I was totally disappointed in the quality of the work , each sandals had a white piece of elastic piece to each sandal , not much elastic was added . The sandals looked awful , I was so disappointed, they could have spray painted the elastic silver to match the rest of the sandals . I AM A VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER ! I will not be coming back and will not recommend this shoe repair shop.

Chambers on Slauson continues to be my go to spot for shoes. Bert is always ready for me and really does an excellent job every time. He is very personable, always friendly, and clearly takes pride in his work. On this visit I dropped off five pairs of shoes to get done. I know when I leave them with him that they will come back looking sharp and ready to go. Reliable, skilled, and easy to work with. Chambers on Slauson gets 5 stars from me. read more

I found this place because I was in need of shoe repair. It reminds me of a fun time in the neighborhood with my people. Where do I start, Chambers has been shining and repairing my family's shoes since the 70's, I purchased a home nearby in 92 and personally became a regular. First replacing heels, rubber taps, shines, suade shoes and boots, then ugg boots came and need to be thrown away I thought ...wrong, Chambers made them look new again. But the most AMAZING thing was when I took my coach duffel purse purchased in 1990(color black) to Chambers a couple of weeks ago well by 2014 the black purse now greyish brown has been revived my purse looks like new again!!!! Always professional and honest... not one complaint thus far... it is a male dominated atmosphere but the men behind the counter as well as the patrons are very courteous and respectful Now for a consignment/thrift store junky I'd never by the shoes... because I never had a place to get small things fixed or touched up like I did my clothes. Thanks to Chambers those days are over Im so happy to have found this gem. read more

I was really happy to be able to leave a five star review for Chambers one stop shoe and boot repair it was a pleasant experience patronizing their business. They did an amazing job on repairing two handbags that I needed fixed they were professional and did the work in a short amount of time like within two days!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to having to come back as shoes weren't ready. However.......Chambers is an institution, as well as community and cultural icon!! It is not just a shoe repair shop. Created from the pride of the original Chambers on Central Avenue, the Slauson location is staffed with artisan's. In other words, it's one thing to get a sole or a heel or a shine, but it's another to have staff who take pride and demonstrate craftsmanship in taking care of your shoes or other leather goods. Even though I had to make an extra trip and that nuance might turn off some customers, I wanted to give the benefit of doubt and wait for the final product. No harm, no foul. read more

Can you resole Blake stitched loafers?
In most cases we can. We are not a manufacturer so we can not duplicate it exactly. If you'd like you can email some pictures to chambersshoes@sbcglobal.net so I can give you a better determination of what we can do.
Do you repair scuff marks on faux leather?
We do fix that. We cant make it go away completely but we can make it look better.
Do you stretch shoes?
Yes we do. 10.00 per pair. The results vary from shoe to shoe.
Do you guys refluff & clean uggs? The inside of a few pair have lost the fluff & need outside cleaning / stain removal. Is that possible?
We do clean them. Refluff is something I'm not sure about and would have to see. Results are based on how dirty they are to begin with.

I could answer your question better with a picture. It does sound like there may not be many remedies for it though
Their not new uggs, so any stretch would do. Do you also clean them?
We charge $10 for stretching. Ugg do not stretch a lot though.
