In response to Chamberlain. When entering the program, I was held to contractual obligations that I fulfilled. By mandating the COVID-19 Vaccination, you are changing the obligations I initially agreed to. I feel this is a breach of the contract I signed. If I had known or had been told that the COVID-19 Vaccination would be required, I would not have signed up for the program. Not only is the contract I signed being changed after what I already agreed to, but you are also requiring students to get an emergency use vaccine; this Vaccine has not been fully FDA approved.
Chamberlain is showing me that they are willing to change contracts regardless of the consequences to students. I cannot risk investing any more time or money into the program. Stated below is the Policy Modification which is a paragraph from Chamberlains COVID-19 policy. As you can see, if they deem the Vaccination a requirement with no restrictions in six months, I would be out tens of thousands of dollars, and that is something I cannot risk.
(Policy Modification
Government and public health guidelines, restrictions and best practices regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines are changing rapidly as new information becomes available and further research is conducted. Adtalem and Chamberlain University reserve the right to modify this policy at any time in their sole discretion to adapt to changing circumstances and safety concerns, consistent with its commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy educational environment.)
I do not agree to this Policy modification. Furthermore, if I were to request a medical or religious exemption, it is still subject to Adtalem determination and approval as outlined in the COVID-19 Policy statement underlined below.
(Determinations
Adtalem and its institutions make determinations about requested accommodations and exemptions on a case-by-case basis considering various factors and based on an individualized assessment in each situation. Adtalem and its institutions strive to make these determinations expeditiously and in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner and will inform you after we make a determination. Access Exemption determinations are final, conclusive, and binding.)
As stated above, I would not have entered the program had I known that Chamberlain would implement a COVID-19 vaccination Policy. After talking with some of Chamberlain's faculty, it seems as though this policy has been a topic of discussion for the board for some time, and I believe new students should have been advised that a COVID-19 policy was going to be put into effect, especially one with such a significant impact. read more
