I had worked on them a little bit myself, but knew I was in over my head. I was also worried about calling in a professional, wary of turning what had been a free find into an incredibly expensive one. Eventually I bit the bullet, and called Artcraft. I worked with Cindy, who is truly wonderful. She was prompt about getting back to me, and gave her own suggestions while being careful to listen to what I was asking for. She clearly understands the sentimental value of the furniture she gets, in addition to its monetary value. I was also initially worried about replacing the damaged casters and caster sleeves of the chair--she did an amazing job! She found period matches for one chair, and completely replaced the wheels of another, which had been modified at some point in its past. She was also very sharp in her assessment of the materials and time period of the pieces, which was especially helpful given these chairs' unknown history. The rates were very reasonable, and the work was completed before the date she gave. She also has a nice collection of antiques, if you're in the market for something. I have attached photos of the chairs, but they do not do the work justice. They're so lovely!

Cindy did a beautiful job fixing them with an eye for detail and cleaned them up, too. The turn around time was quick. When we took them in, the finish on the chairs was worn and scuffed. They look really nice now and we don't have to worry about them collapsing when someone sits on them.

A cherished antique dining room table was damaged in a move from Phoenix to Tucson. I requested…read morebids on Yelp for someone to repair it. I got several messages about the project, but Matt Neel was the only one who followed through on every step of the bid, and he wasn't weird about it. He didn't pressure me to accept the bid before I was ready, like one of the other businesses did. And on top of everything else, the bid he gave me was the most reasonable in terms of price! As far as his work goes, it's excellent! My table looks beautiful. The repairs aren't noticeable at all. He also strengthened the table legs so that they would be less likely to break in the future. I'm so pleased. The one possible caveat I would issue is that working with Matt required a bit of patience. He is busy and takes on new projects as he has time. There was also a health issue that set back the date at which he could return my table. This wasn't a problem for me; I understand that things come up sometimes, and given how reasonable his rates are, it seemed only fair to me to be flexible when he said he needed more time. If you also can be flexible about time, I think Matt is the best guy to hire for your project.

He was easy to work with, completed the project right on schedule, and even provided pick-up and delivery since I live nearby. The entire job cost less than buying a new bed, and the quality far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!

We had two recliners, both Ethan Allen. The first, probably about 20 years old, needed fixed and…read morethe second needed to be reupholstered. The time and effort that Sarah put into this project was inspiring. She was so persistent with manufacturers in pursuit of the mechanics of the reclining mechanism, now out of production. She kept us informed all along the process, and was able to locate one part still in existence. We also had her touch up and fix some of the leather that had been scratched. She brought it back to its lovely brown leather. And it reclines! The second recliner, 50 years old, had been beaten up by age, although it worked well. We thought of repairing the piece as is, but chose to reupholster it entirely, as close to the original color and material. Also, we asked that she touch up the pine arms and wings, and add back the necessary details that had been lost. What a magnificent job Sarah and her team did! The photos don't fully describe the experience of having it back to looking like a new recliner. Worth the relatively modest price, since they don't make recliners like this anymore. Highly recommend these folks, especially Sarah J. Although I don't have "before" photos, both of these are "after" the restoration.

Our oak dining set needed refinishing and repair (wobbly legs) after 41 years. I spoke to Sarah who…read moreexplained the process--it would take 4-8 weeks--the finish needed four weeks to dry completely. Our furniture was picked on February 24 with the team who picked it up telling me that they were behind a couple of weeks. On April 29 I received a call from Marco, the Delivery and Services manager, saying that they had just started work on the furniture, but there was problem with the chairs. In addition Sarah wanted to change the color that she thought would look better. Here I was expecting him to say that they were finished! I said no to the color change, and I expressed my dismay, especially since there were family members expected the next month. I received an email May 14 stating that they were trying to finish the work by the end of the month. Later they delivered a loaner table and chairs to us--at the beginning of June. The delivery team was apologetic and said that Sarah had a baby (during the first 8 weeks), and was now dealing with handling the baby while working. I emailed Sarah and then Marco to find out when we could expect our table and chairs to be completed. I sent another email to Sarah (June 12) asking when our dining set would be completed and to reiterate NO color change (it had come up again). I heard from Marco that they were trying to complete it as quickly as possible with no color change. He would ask Sarah again about estimated time for completion. On July 24 I again emailed Sarah about the furniture after calling the week prior. I reminded her that it had been five months since our furniture had been picked up from our home, and they did not work on it for the first two of those five months. I did not want to take this to the next level. NO RESPONSE! I contacted the Better Business Bureau of Tucson on July 29 to inform them of the problem I was having with Brett Interiors Furniture Doctor. BBB emailed them the next morning. Later that morning I received an email from Marco stating that Sarah had informed him that the table and chairs had passed their final inspection and were ready to be delivered back to us. We received our furniture on August 7, more than five months from when it was picked up. The work was good, but I would not recommend this company to anyone. I could have bought a new dining room set for the amount of money we paid them. And no apology from Sarah--the delivery guys should not be made to apologize for her failure to communicate.

Shawn and Alison Henderson are a fabulous team. The communication was stellar from the initial…read morecontact through the bid process, to the onsite work, and then to the follow-up. We had a list of issues for Shawn to tackle; these varied from drywall repair, painting a red room beige, stucco repair, sealing and regrouting bricks, and replacing weathered wood around outdoor door frames. He was onsite 5-10 minutes early, ready to go. (we had the first appointment and secured his services for a few days) Mr. Henderson was enthusiastic, resourceful, and honest. His assistant Adam was polite, and Alison is the organized power behind the throne. The Henderson's are busy because they are very good, so be willing to start with a deposit and secure a future date. Their work is well worth the wait. We will definitely call them for help again!

Shawn arrived promptly on the day he scheduled, and did a great job on facia replacement someone else told us couldn't be done. He didn't low-ball us, had the materials and tools he needed and took the time to do it right but didn't dawdle around all day, was friendly and smart, was knowledgeable and obviously good at his job, explained what he was doing, was attentive to my questions as well as my husband's, wore a mask, and actually fixed an extra little problem we had. He had long-standing, time tested recommendations for other work we asked about instead of promoting himself for jobs outside his field (you know who I mean, that incompetent plumber you hired in desperation who stands on your carpet in a puddle of gunk while giving you a pitch about installing your windows next week?) Shawn kept the work area pristine with a dropcloth, and cleaned up *perfectly* when he was done, so well our place was cleaner after he left. No tools left behind, no gate left open. 100% completed. I am amazed at this level of service, I couldn't be happier. You get what you pay for, and this was SO worth it!

So, not only with Reyes Cabinets, but I will also be yelping about many of the other companies I have found on YELP. I have interviewed over 10 cabinet companies with no reply, just promises, then I never hear from them. Same with plumbers, drywallers, stucco companies etc. It is just mind boggling and I hear it is an issue here in Tucson. When I reached out to Reyes Cabinets via phone calls and texts then followed up with additional phone calls with no response. I wanted to let others know the lack of their professionalism and say, "Stay Away From Reyes". I have a three-time rule now, you ignore me then I am moving on as it is obvious you do not need business or a job. At least let a potential client know upfront, you are either too busy or not interested then provide excuses and lies you cannot meet up too. When I had my showroom in CA, customer service was performed to all our clients, hence why were slammed due to our response. Never EVER leave a client or potential client hanging. It is rude, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. I told my employees ALWAYS return a call and never lie to the clients. It is harder to remember lies than the truth.
