My usual rule of thumb: Avoid Walmart like the plague. In larger towns, there's better choices -…read morethose other choices might be more expensive, but the extra cost gains me better quality of merchandise & less crowds. A price I'm willing to pay. In smaller towns, Walmart is generally the best choice. In Chadron, it is the best choice that we could find. This is one of those "super" WalMart's, so it has groceries, sporting goods, pharmacy - you name it, it's got it. Which was useful, as I forgot the Wedding card, need some pharmacy items, and wanted to stock up on some drinks for our after-wedding trip. And, everyone was actually friendly - not something that I associate with the WalMart's around where I live.

This store has fallen in quality and service in the past 3 years. I went in last week to pick up…read moresome essentials and decided to purchase a new nose stud. I sat at the jewelry counter for 5 minutes while the associate in charge of the jewelry counter talked with another employee. When the other employee left, the jewelry counter associate disappeared!!!! This isn't the first time that their customer service is lacking. Even the customer service associates are rude and act like they don't want to be there. I have been waiting in long lines at the checkout and noticed that none of the customer service desk employees or managers will offer to get on a register and help check out people. And if by some stroke of luck a manager does ask them to help it is always met with an exasperated eye roll. I am tired of this store's lack of basic customer service skills and will no longer be shopping here. There is nothing in this store that another store in town doesn't have. Some may argue that they have the cheapest prices, which may be true, but the quality is extremely lower as well. You get what you pay for.

My husband and I were not expecting to find something so artisanal, we just wanted to get some local honey as a souvenir for our time in Nebraska. We drove into downtown Crawford after seeing a sign on the main road. Gibbons Honey Farms is a very cute shop full of honey, honey beauty products, hand sanitizer, hand made soaps, T-shirts, delicious creme honey, and essential oils. The owner makes all the products with honey from her husband's bee farm. Everything is made in small batches so it ensures that it's great quality, at very reasonable prices. I also really recommend sampling the creme honey! There were a dozen flavors to choose from. We picked peach mango and raspberry. There is also a really friendly pupper named Molly that comes and greets guests. If this was in TX, I'd be frequenting the shop often. I hope the shop gets the admiration they deserve!

The rock shop is directly off the highway and you can't miss it. Outside, there are a few larger pieces lined up outside, including a massive Citrine specimen. You can also fill buckets from a pile of river rock for $40. This is a great value for buckets of amazing rocks. Step forward past the fence and on both sides, there are stands and smaller specimens and bulk buckets of a variety of rocks. There are also bins with bulk rocks that would appeal to more little children. When you walk inside, there is something to appeal to everybody... Amethyst, pyrite, prairie agate, jewelry, books, coins, and more. There are also dreamcatchers and wooden items. Continue walking to the back and there is an entire room, filled with more items sorted by type and a few more items in cases.... continue walking and you'll find the UV/dark room with multiple types of stones that glow under the two types of UV light. I picked up two items which I was excited about. Back to the front, the other thing to mention is the fossil museum. Fossils aren't really my thing but this room was still cool to see. The last thing I wanted to mention was how awesome the owner is. She helped recommend a spot and spent almost an hour with us while we walked around and my son had questions. Her service and love for the hobby is amazing! This is a wonderful rock shop and must stop if you are in the area.

The outside of the shop has numerous containers filled with a variety of rocks..... very big selection! Go inside to see an amazing variety of rocks, jewelry plus a room of fossils too! I called to make sure they received the order since I am out of state and have never ordered from them before. The woman on the phone was so nice and so helpful! I didn't realize blue flowers were in the photo and it was a baby girl, so she arranged accordingly! I have always been disappointed when I place flower order delivery's with major company's due to them not being delivered in time or looking nothing like I had hoped. When the flowers were delivered I received an email!!! It was so refreshing to see. The best part... it included a photo of the arrangement! I was so happy with this company. I wish they had a location near me!
