The staff was very helpful and efficient with the crazy influx of customers on the day of the eclipse. Surprisingly excellent selection for a community the size of Chadron, but the nearest hardware store elsewhere is 40 miles away. Prices could be lower. read more

Terry, the owner/Mgr will bend over backwards to help you find the tool or supplies you need. I would list the names of the employees, but I really have to say ALL of them are awesome. Additionally, you should check prices before you drive an hour away or mess with online ordering because I have found their prices the same or better than online prices. I bought a sink and blinds yesterday. Both (exact make and model) were LESS than they cost online, even Walmart online was more than Ace. So don't assume this small town hardware store is more. Even if it was a bit, I prefer to support my local stores than support a huge conglomerate like Walmart. Also, their furniture prices are great. Thanks Terry and crew.

After driving for several hours - I really thought I was safe and then it hit me - a steady wall of…read morewater that soaked right through my motorcycle jacket. It had been a waterproof motorcycle jacket but after 2 winters in California, I guess it rinsed out all the waterproofing. My rain overpants were good but my boots - soaked right through to my socks. I guess I was doing pretty well having gotten nearly a week on the road without getting soaked. The rain stopped as I got into the next little town, Gordon NE. I turned right off Hwy 20 onto Main St and found this True Value. Super friendly clerk helped me find some Scotchguard and pointed me in the right direction for a coin-op laundry. Nice little store with loads of goods - the usual thing you would expect to find in this type and size of store with friendly service.
