I'd lived in the area for fifteen years before a friend from New York said I absolutely had to try this roti place she'd read so much about. The decor is plain white and modest, so I hadn't spotted it, but the food turned out to be amazing, and it's one of my favourite places to eat now. The owner makes the roti herself (it's a bit like a tortilla or chapatti, only nicer), and the filling I order most often is a combination of goat, pumpkin and spinach, with a tiny dash of her wonderful homemade scotch bonnet hot sauce (treat with extreme caution!), and a big glass of her spiced sorrel juice. You can get vegetarian fillings, too; lots of combination of various veggie fillings that you can combine with meat or have on their own. The owner's friendly and chatty and I've learned a lot about the area from her. There are two tables with four chairs at each. Don't go too near to closing time or she might have run out of food by then: it's all fresh and made right there. SO good. read more
