All the buildings in this avenue where designed by different art nouveau artists for a 'design competition'... It is really beautiful and special! And far from touristic places , fact which we appreciate very much. At the end of this avenue you have the park of schaerbeek which is also nice for a walk (after the good lunch in Al doppio ;-) owners are super welcoming and taking care. Pizzas are done in a big oven in front of customers and they have big windows to look out the beatiful avenue. We loved al doppio and recommend it to anyone visiting brussels!

The Pizza are not only HUGE, they are really SUPERTASTY. Impossible to eat it all. As to the salads, they are OK. not expensive at all. As to the pasta, I'd say better not. Order a PIZZA and you'll be really served well. And drink San Pelligrino. They make also deliveries. Sometimes I took penne with aubergines every day together with the cheapest salad, SALADE FOLLE. They bring complimentary bread and dips when you are first sat, and the bread is actually excellent. Great texture and flavor. The dips are solid (although still trying to understand the "love of" mayonnaise-based anything here, there, anywhere in the world). Had their version of "white pizza", which was really good. Excellent flavor, and near-perfect texture. The village/peasant style salad was also very good. And, of course, the made-to-order fries were dope. Next time I'm in Brussels, I'll definitely return - and, I'll even see if I can scope out Turkish eateries here in California, to compare and contrast.
