Starting with preschool, religious school, bar and bat mitzvah training, confirmation, adult education and social experiences, TAS has given us excellent Temple experiences which continue today. The community support within the congregation is always there....in good times and in the difficult times. We welcome Rabbi Becky Hoffman to continue our tradition of inclusive membership.....singles, families, young and older, interfaith families....anyone looking for a quality Jewish experience within a beautiful campus and community.

I discovered a woman with a myriad of enviable attributes, including her passion for Judaism. Rabbi Hoffman knew she would find her life's work in a synagogue as a youngster and honed her skills at religious school Jewish camp and as a Judaic Studies student at UC San Diego. She loves teaching and believes in positive psychology to help children have a good sense of self and has implemented a "gratitude attitude" into curriculums she has created. She is adept at teaching both children and adults, and has served as a teacher at the Melton School of Adult Learning, as well as Jewish day schools. In the first weeks of her tenure at TAS, I have observed her warmth and her eagerness to meet with various temple groups--from past presidents to auxiliaries to the ECEC parents. In the most difficult of times, she has already become a positive force and graces our bema with her intellect, her reflections and a maturity beyond her years. She said, "Our partnership at TAS is to be on this path together. This is not my journey; it is our journey." I invite anyone who is interested in a providing their children with a Jewish education, looking for a Jewish community that cares for its members and a bright, engaging rabbi to call Aaron Solomon, Executive Director at 818-360-2258 for membership information and how to access our online programs and services.

ALSO please note that the 3 one stars pertain to the issues we had with the Early Learning Center which have been well resolved. We have a caring Rabbi, wonderful office staff, great members who volunteer their time and efforts to running a smooth vibrant Temple. We are not a huge temple.. which is what I like. We are a FAMILY!

Due to a very poor staffing choice, the director Katrin facilitated the complete crumbling down of our beautiful community. 2 beloved and dedicated teachers were treated so badly they resigned and 15 families were pushed to the point of having no choice but to leave. The lack of communication and transparency with the parents, the new director having absolutely no vision for the preschool and genuine safety issues such as our children being kept with people they don't know, being lied to on multiple occasions, allergies of a child being completely disregarded... the ELC became a place we had to leave. We tried everything we could to alert the leadership and board to these issues with no avail. Unfortunately for 15 families and two teachers time ran out and we are now grasping to find where to send our children mid year. This community failed us. If Katrin is the director at this school, please evaluate your decision very closely before even touring. Ask the office for the information of past families so we can provide more detail if needed. I wish the temple no harm- this is directly about the ELC. it is my duty to inform other parents of young children of this dangerous individual who dismantled our community.
