If I lived here in Finland, this would be my go to spot for a snack. It is very relaxing spot to become energized for the day.

Fazer Cafe, part of a chain of Fazer branded cafes, opened recently (June 2015?) in Tampere. It is…read moreperhaps the most stylish cafe in Tampere with a very stylish modern interior. The huge windows are great for letting the light in. The lamps are just to my liking. The drinking glasses are the ones every trendy restaurant in Scandinavia seems have bought. The counter with all the cakes, pastries etc is beautifully organised. Every detail seems to have been designed and the overall ambience of the place is classy with eye candy for the visitor. I first visited there in June thinking I'd buy a cheap lunch since I came during lunch time. The salad was maybe 11€ and with chicken added around 13€ so I considered it a bit pricey for lunch hour. It did come with bread which was fresh from their own bakery so I did not leave hungry. And the salad was very tasty and if it wasn't for the price I could eat something like that every day. :) I also came here once for coffee with baby strollers and there's plenty of room for that. So even though the coffee is not the cheapest in town, this is a good meeting place even with the "baby baggage". Did I mention the regular coffee has free refills? It does. And you get one Fazer candy with the coffee. I of course picked the Kiss-Kiss candy which is my ultimate childhoold favorite! :) In addition to coffee, salads and pastries, you can buy fresh bread here for taking home. So in addition to being a cafe, it is sort of a Fazer pastry shop ("konditorio") too.

Elegance and deliciousness ... this place has it all!…read more All the baked goods and salads looked so super yummy, I could not resist to get inside, even though I had had breakfast just a few hours ago. I simply had to get an almond pastry and three macarons with passionfruit, cherry and orange flavour and all of them tasted so marvelous. So sad I came across Oma on the day of my departure shortly before heading further north. If I ever make it back to Tampere, I will get my daily dosis of macarons and surely one of their salads ... or rather some dark bread with salmon ... or some other tempting delicacies of this really great café with friendly and attentive staff ... so much to look forward to ;o)!

I only give it 3/5 stars because although their food is good and service fine, I don't enjoy such overcrowded cafes. People come to have business meetings and to do remote work but being so crowded I've witnessed a loud gossip nightmare behind a remote worker so I doubt it's really the place to be productive. They sell their own bread and pastries - good stuff. They also serve lunch every day which includes the dish (soup or salad), bread, water and a cup of coffee or tea. The lunch salad I had was pretty good and I'd go back if my friend wanted to meet there but wouldn't probably go alone.
