The new equipment showroom is small, but packed to the ceiling with all your lawn & garden needs. You'll find a few bigger new machines displayed on the front lawn too. I've stopped in a few times for parts. They always have my item stocked, but expect to pay full retail. Serious money can be saved by shopping parts online. Although, sometime you just can't wait on shipping & have to overpay. The garden center does have some rental equipment available. Propane re-fills are also available.

We ordered quite a few trees from them this year (and even more from another local nursery). We had money down on trees that were due to arrive within 1-2 months from deposit. As it got closer, they did not notify us the date had changed, so by the time we were notified, others go to come and make a pick before us (instead of picking two from about a dozen, we picked from four). In the end we were happy with our purchases, but they could work out some of the logistics and followthrough with regular customers (we sensed the contractors got a little more attention). Also, I will add that years ago we paid for someone from Johnsons to come and give us ideas for our yard. I think we paid about $150 to get the lamest "sketch", but Johnsons was good about refunding the amount as a credit towards future purchases. It just was a bummer that we wasted time waiting for the person to come out and then a month for them to give us a photo of our yard with some pictures of 2 plants awkwardly pasted over it. If the person had take us seriously, they would have gotten way more business from us. Still, we recommend this place for its large inventory and quality of products.

I was frankly a little skeptical about taking my 9-10 year old Craftsman 24" snow blower (that's…read morenever been serviced) to Nelson's after reading all the negative feedback on Yelp, but it wasn't starting up and I had no clue how to fix it. The guy there was nice and helped me get it out of the back of my SUV. When I asked for quote for figuring out why it's not starting up, he said they charge $85/hour and would call me with an estimate once they take a look at it. I dropped it off on Saturday, Mar.14. They called me with a detail quote two business days later on Tuesday, Mar.17. They suggested more efficient and cost effective way of fixing it would be replacing the carb assembly. They also pointed out one of my tires was low which caused the auger scraper to wear unevenly and recommended replacing that as well. Spark plug was original and new one was pretty cheap, so I asked him to replace it, too. By Thursday, Mar.19, they fixed the engine not starting issue with the new card assembly, put in a new spark plug, tire innertube, new auger scraper, flushed the fuel system and put in some non ethanol fuel, which they told me has a 12 month shelf life, so I can keep that in the tank till next season vs regular gas only lasts about 30 - 45 days, so that should always be used up before storing it away after the winter. All that (see the last pic of the invoice for more detail) for $243.08 and some great advice along the way. Hopefully the snow blower will last many more seasons, especially now that I know how to better take care of it. I guess others who left all that negative feedback and low rating had some bad experience, but mine was great and I would certainly recommend giving Nelson Bros a shot! Joe Medinger was informative regarding different brands and models. He put gas and oil in the machine I bought, gave me a brief lesson on how to operate and even loaded it into the bed of my truck. And 30 minutes after walking into Medingers, I was clearing off my driveway. I did not receive any of the poor service the other Yelpers did. In fact, the previous reviews almost kept me away. But I'm a supporter of local businesses. I'm I sure glad I gave them a chance. You should too!

We popped by to inquire about grass-seeding, and their team is very knowledge! We're hoping to improve our lawn by doing some pre-winter work, followed my spring re-seeding. We gathered a few products that should prove to be helpful! We also love to graze through the gift-like items inside, especially around this time of year. They've started putting our unique holiday item and fun ornaments. Plus, there corner selection of gifts for kiddos is always great. Of course we didn't leave empty handed, as my house needed a few mini xmas trees to add to the decor, and we even grabbed a fun little 'reindeer' game we'll definitely play with the family this season. Planning to come back for a wreath in the coming weeks (they have big and beautiful ones). Highly rec supporting this local garden center if you get the chance.

I also made phone calls to follow-up. The manager never got back to me and no one ever called me back. Very disappointing at the time. Also, I have shopped here a lot and purchased multiple things from plants, to plant stands, to gardening tools, etc. I bought a pair of $20 pruning shears for my mom who has arthritic hands and the shears broke on the first use. I went to return them the next day, I didn't have my receipt but they remembered me, and they said I could not return them without the receipt. I was very annoyed.
