I've lived in Sierra Vista, AZ, for 20 years, and have heard nothing but good from those that had dentures, bridges, orthodontists, etc. from this office. When my tooth infected and extraction was necessary, there was no one available on the US side for 30 days. So, I took the plunge.
This office speaks English and Espanol; it has US phone numbers. It is clean, friendly, and very helpful. Please don't be put off if you get someone on the phone that doesn't speak English well - it simply means the English-speaker is engaged with another patient. I used simple terms like extraction, implant, and soon. I called on Monday, and got a Friday appointment. I believed the appointment was just for a consult - it was a cancelled extraction so I won the jackpot! The tooth could be pulled and the implant placed this day.
The dental area is also clean and all the techs friendly. Dr Alvaro Martinez speaks excellent English and I was envious of his ability to swap between the two languages without a hitch. Dr Martinez immediately understood my issue, was appreciative of the history and x-rays I brought, but of course took his own to see. The equipment was modern and immaculate.
Dr Martinez kept me informed every bit of the way. My demon tooth did not give up easily as it came out in seven pieces. (My general dentist suspected a vertical crack.) Unfortunately, Dr Martinez also found a cyst on the sinus - he took a phone picture to show me! The implant could not be put in right away. Darned infection.
I have the misfortune to have teeth that have required just about every dental procedure. I found Dr Martinez and his staff to be experienced, knowledgeable, and professional.
The C.E.R.O. (stands for Centro Especializado en Rehabilitacion Oral) does not accept credit cards nor checks. Please bring cash, either Peso or Dollar.
Also - I saved at least $1K (33%) over the cost estimate of the US oral surgeon estimate.
I understand some people hate the pain of dentistry - I had no more pain than is normal in these situations - I had wisdom teeth removed and this was much more difficult. It is now almost 24 hours later and I have a mild ache I expect gone by tomorrow. read more
