I like that the folks are so approachable. The building is also pretty neat. By all means go behind it, and see what remains of older buildings. Also the pond is active with frogs and turtles. Walk on the deck and the views are pleasant. Parking sometimes on the weekends can be challenging. As for hiking opportunities, the trails are beginner friendly, and provide a way for city folks to enjoy a different experience.

With lots of open space for parking, I sat in my car and just had my coffee and donut. The view(s) from the parking lot itself was lovely (see 1st pic). The trails, too - although I didn't walk that much - also seemed nice; birds were chirping and the few people were friendly and said hello. Unlike other trails and parks which can be overwhelming in terms of its space and completely deserted at times, this place seemed is planned and paved well; it's doable for non hikers and great for casual walkers. If you are single and or have a dog, a couple, or in a group, this place seems to be for everyone, and it is a great place to come and reflect.

After parking in the lot off Melville Ln, we basically walked through a small forest to get on to the trail at the back of one of the baseball fields. Soon came a creek with stepping stones over it, then the real fun began. Clearly parking is no issue here, and this park has more than one entry point. All in all though, the trails are flat and either paved or easy on the feet, and there's more than one bridge and some benches along the trail. Probably saw a handful other dogs but everyone had their dogs leashed and paths were wide enough to avoid any confrontations. Everyone was very friendly and respectful and the trail was adjacent to a slow flowing creek. It was a very pleasant walk/jog that does go by several suburby neighborhoods but all in all, very enjoyable path.

Trails are unpaved, which I prefer, and while not wheelchair accessible, the slopes are gentle enough for many adults and children to navigate. The creek that ran along most of the trails was enchanting, and the historical structures such as the smokehouse were fascinating to see and read about. I know there are more this park offers that we didn't get to explore this time, so we'd be glad to visit again in the future. The best part is that it is dog friendly. The trails are unpaved, and you go through little bridges and pathways... not much incline making it ideal for dogs and small children. I really enjoyed the lily pond and made sure to snap plently of pictures with my pup. The historical house was also blooming with flowers this time of year-- it was so enchanting and beautiful. This place is such a gem!

The grass field is usually open - no official lines or anything; just an open field where people usually do warm up reps or dogs and their owners running around. The fields are usually open during the mornings and day times - more filled during good weather. They also have trails to walk around and plenty of parking behind the third field in a graveled lot. These fields are also right next to an elementary school. No restrooms or water areas - just open friends. Overall, would recommend 4.5/10 to come have a picnic or bring your dogs to - maybe set up grass volleyball or so but mostly worth for locals who just plan to pop by!
