With lots of open space for parking, I sat in my car and just had my coffee and donut. The view(s) from the parking lot itself was lovely (see 1st pic). The trails, too - although I didn't walk that much - also seemed nice; birds were chirping and the few people were friendly and said hello. Unlike other trails and parks which can be overwhelming in terms of its space and completely deserted at times, this place seemed is planned and paved well; it's doable for non hikers and great for casual walkers. If you are single and or have a dog, a couple, or in a group, this place seems to be for everyone, and it is a great place to come and reflect.

First off extremely nice county employees. They have some amphibians and reptiles on display. As a…read moresnake guy, they take wonderful care of the animals. Also they have exhibits children will like. Could the county modernize this a bit? Yes please! However the exhibits tell a story, about animal species and nature that's in the area. I like that the folks are so approachable. The building is also pretty neat. By all means go behind it, and see what remains of older buildings. Also the pond is active with frogs and turtles. Walk on the deck and the views are pleasant. Parking sometimes on the weekends can be challenging. As for hiking opportunities, the trails are beginner friendly, and provide a way for city folks to enjoy a different experience.

Clearly I wasn't going to cross someone's backyard to get into the trail so I ended up finding parking across the street (stringfellow rd). The trail entrance is seen from where I parked so I knew I was headed in the right direction. TRAIL: this trail is super relaxing. It follows a nice loud but subtle stream. The trail starts off with soft gravel but eventually becomes more of a "road" and hard gravel trail. Its a straight on trail that has neighboring houses at some edges but still has a lowkey trail vibe. goes on for miles!! Definitely safe to bike in, walk your dog, jog or bring the family. Although I went on a day after it rained so the trail was definitely filled with puddles and mud, it did not strain off the experience (although the puppers did get dirty) One minor thing about the trail is that it doesn't include dog bags/dump stations so make sure you prepare accordingly!

After parking in the lot off Melville Ln, we basically walked through a small forest to get on to the trail at the back of one of the baseball fields. Soon came a creek with stepping stones over it, then the real fun began. Clearly parking is no issue here, and this park has more than one entry point. All in all though, the trails are flat and either paved or easy on the feet, and there's more than one bridge and some benches along the trail. I appreciate this green space being maintained and available to the community.

This is a beautiful, family-friendly park that has a variety of things for enjoyment. Walleye Pond,…read moreright off the parking lot and near the entrance to trails, seemed to be an attraction all on its own, with the lily pads, viewing decks, and paved trails all around it. Trails are unpaved, which I prefer, and while not wheelchair accessible, the slopes are gentle enough for many adults and children to navigate. The creek that ran along most of the trails was enchanting, and the historical structures such as the smokehouse were fascinating to see and read about. I know there are more this park offers that we didn't get to explore this time, so we'd be glad to visit again in the future. I appreciate this green space being maintained and available to the community.
