Walks up to me in a "confrontational" stance and she says "WHATS YOUR PROBLEM" ! She said all of this in Spanish - I answered her in English - That all i wanted to do is have my drinks and listen to the music. She then asks " Why did you "snap" your fingers at me ? All this was done in a very "aggressive tone and a "mad" look in her eyes she then walks away I immediately called one of the waitresses that was there and they wear jeans and a red top- I was explaining everything to her so that way someone that works there would hear my "testimony" of what had happened. When the "perpetrator" walks back to both of us to hear what I was saying- I immediately asked the waiter girl who is the manager- and she looks at her and says "she is" - which I know is a "lie". As I have been going to that bar a long time and I had never seen her there before. I then said - "I will speak to the owners instead and she was ordered by the "aggressor" - to go and assist someone else. Obviously to not have her hear my "complaint". Yet, I asked the waiter girl to come back so I could finish what I had to say about the "unwarranted aggression". I kid you not, she was ready to get "physical" , I have never experienced anything like that in my life ! Eventually, I left and before I left there are some little forms they hand you when they give you the bill - where you can write a "comment" about the service or in my case a "complaint"- I left one filled out with my contact information - to this day absolutely no one has contacted me in any way shape or form. Don't go there, it's not worth it, and trust me there are plenty of other places to have a drink and hear some music nearby where you won't get attacked! I am convinced that I was "DISCRIMINATED" , because I spoke "English" - she's "Anti - American" - stay away from this "wretched" place -there are many other places you can go instead

If you come on a Sunday, you may be able to catch an informal dance group practicing swing and salsa moves in the median/plaza area on Av. Chapultepec. It's great people watching and the vibes are immaculate.

We had already done some day drinking earlier and were not looking to continue pushing our livers to the limit. I ordered the fried calamari which was, and this no hyperbole, the worst I've ever had. It was like they fried a styrofoam cup. That calamari is the food equivalent of a "fuck you."My boyfriend ordered the philly cheese steak and that was just as poorly cooked. I took one bite and my immediate thought was "UGH WTF." The meat tasted old and flavorless. The bread fell apart. I declined to eat anymore, while my boyfriend went for it. He is still alive as I write this but I fear for him tomorrow morning... The service was awful, the server didn't offer even an apology for the calamari when I told him we didn't like it. They didn't check on us at all. The only pleasant aspect about this spot was the music. They had a legit playlist of indie/alternative jams (Vampire Weekend, the Killers, etc ) Don't know if Bar Rescue has plans to expand to Guadalajara, but if so this place desperately could use Jon Taffer's magic touch. There are six beers to choose from on draft (very reasonably priced) and when it comes to bottled beers, everyone can find their thing. The selection is really great. They also have ciders for those unfortunate among us that do not do well with gluten. They have a nice patio and their waiter Marco was extremely fast, attentive and nice. I certainly got better service here than what I get at majority of places in Mexico. I would definitely like to come back if I ever get a chance, so yes - I would recommend this place.
