Amazing customer service! When we arrived at the guest services said it would be 30 minutes for a table. It was 32 minutes and the customer service gentleman at the front desk apologize for being two minutes off and gave us a free appetizer. The cheese curds are amazing and melts in your mouth. Very good we will be back! read more

I love the concept and the coming together of popular trends and out of state hit's like Shake Shack and Brew Haus. I was let down not by the food, drinks, or the service but by the choice of raw products. An all Iowa draft beer menu? Blue Bunny Ice cream? If the goal is to use all Iowa products than spell that out but in the vast world of the Midwest and Central time zone there are so many great choices outside the borders of our state that people here crave daily that limiting the menu to what I can buy at the local grocery store makes little sense to me. That said the space is well done and the staff was very helpful. Spread those wings folks. read more

The restaurant decor is cool. Food was just okay. Shake was very frothy, could have been thicker and colder. Fries were okay (kinda small portion for the price). Service was average. read more

Great place. Good beer. Great cheese curds. Love the shake with a sparkler in it. Good service. Good selection of dark stout beers.

Gross! Very basic food and made my wife and I sick. Tried the nachos and they had dried out pulled pork. The large pretzel was dry. The sunrise burger was unappealing and made me sick. Wish it was better. read more

Visited here today for lunch with my wife. We really enjoyed our previous visit and were very disappointed with this one. We ordered the Cajun Onion Rings for the appetizer, expecting some heat and flavor but got neither, just soggy, flavorless onion rings that were mostly undercooked. The Ahi Sandwich was decent, but you could not tase the Tuna...just the cucumber/onion garnish on the sandwich. Not worth it. my side was the cole slaw and it was flavorless diced cabbage. How do you screw up cole slaw?? They found a way. My wife had a very forgettable Cobb salad. The salad looked a lot better than it ate...perhaps someone should tell the cook staff that while presentation matters to some, it's flavor matters far more. I know they get lots of great reviews, and we did enjoy our first trip. But what a buzzkill today. read more

Visiting from LA and we stopped in for a bite. Eat here! Something for everyone. Plenty of TVs for the game, kid friendly, and a hug craft beer selection. Our server Amanda was attentive and great with the kids! The Food... everything is made in house! The burger buns were fresh, home made ranch dressing, milk shakes were creative, fun and delicious. Burgers were cooked perfect. Nachos were topped with fresh pico and between the five of us, they didn't last long. Central Standard was a pleasant surprise during our visit to Iowa. We will be back! If you like great food, this is ur place! read more

Always good food and fast service! Great beer selection! Perfect stop if you're in the mood for burgers and fries!

We have been here twice for burgers. Both times we had the signature standard burger and the mushroom swiss burger. Conclusion....we have had juicier, better burgers. And the price is exorbitant!! It's 2 patties, I assume so it cooks faster, but means that they both can be easily OVERCOOKED. read more

Visiting from California glad we stopped in Waukee location we almost missed it as building doesn't really stand out. Sat at bar it was happy hour which I didn't see on their website (they should advertise it) great drinks and service the bartender Reymi made some recommendations that we really enjoyed he knew his drinks and the menu had the spinach dip and shared some burgers. Fire and smoke burger came with a delicious sauce. Had tater tots n fries all great only Brussels sprouts were tasty but a little salty. But other than that no complaints highly recommend it if we lived here we'd be regulars for sure. read more

Such good food, fun atmosphere, and the waiter was very good. We will definitely be going back. The onion ring and the onion ring sauce are amazing read more

The food here is excellent and it's one of only a few restaurants west of Des Moines that is recommendable! The service is great and they also donate part of their profits to University of Iowa Children's Hospital. Awesome place! Great shakes and burgers. read more

Central Standard - Tacos Near Me - Waukee, Iowa

My husband and I tried Central Standard our last night. The burger was typical, but the bbq Brussel sprouts were awesome. It's very clean (but give it time) and service is good, but the noise level is off the chain, but it seems to be like that in all restaurants lately....unless you're in a 5+ star dining establishment, where everyone's conversations stay at their table. We'll definitely go back. read more

Nice, clean place. Lots of TVs and friendly staff. Food was very good and a welcome twist on traditional menus items. read more

Great atmosphere with trendy and chic sports bar environment. Reasonably priced, tasteful food. New take on classic favorites. A new favorite. read more

Me and two friends has terrible service, and our shakes were watery. anytime we asked for something it would take forever. my friend also didn't get all of her change back. read more

We were looking for a place for lunch and this hit the spot. Yummy food and perfect set up for social distancing indoors.

As you can see by the reviews much more is made about the décor and the drinks they serve but you can get a drink anywhere and the fact is we have some severe problems with the quality of food locally (This is the reason we have so many places fail). The food is basically about as good as you would get at Red Robbin (I don't suggest eating at the Red Robbin in West Des Moines by the way as it is one of the worst) and about double the cost plain and simple. If you want to go to a place with nice atmosphere and Iowa-size portions (Iowa size means very small) I suggest you try this place out. If you feel the need to help the local economy by blowing money I highly suggest this place but if your hungry and expecting good food eat somewhere else. read more

It's not often that you get a restaurant first and a bar 2nd that knows about food. The wide variety of food was great. I was totally impressed. They have been open a very short time, and even so, the tator tots were wonderful, the tenderloin was good, just not a fan. The spinach artichoke dip was good, strange to have it with vegetables but it worked, although could have used a bit more salt or something to spice it up. The cherry cider from Solon was incredible, and the birthday cake shake was supurb. Also the cheese curds with the chipolte sauce was incredible, as was the brussel sprouts with bacon jam. OMG. Will try other things on the menu, and hope they read this because there is room for improvement. However, definitely a way to start off strong in Waukee. read more

This was my first time visit to Central Standard. We were greeted with a warm welcome and received service right away. The ruby rose drink was delicious. My husband and I love wings and their classic buffalo wings were perfectly cooked. I loved my tenderloin with cheesy tots. The portions were very generous. My husband's french dip burger was incredible. It was a surprising twist on a classic sandwich. I would order both again. I would also like to call out the outstanding service of the staff. They were very kind and attentive. We cannot to go back! read more

They gave us a wait time that was half what we actually waited, which was nice. The appetizers (pretzel and artichoke dip) were really great as well. The burgers (regular cheeseburger/mushroom and Swiss/fire and smoke) were pretty plain and you are not able to choose how you want yours cooked, which I think should definitely be an option for a burger restaurant. The waitress seemed annoyed that my friend wanted to try the beer she couldn't tell him anything about. The specialty drinks weren't anything special for $10 and $11. The prices overall were a little high for the quality we felt we received. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. For a new restaurant that is very busy, their service is amazing. I have been a few times since they opened, and the service and food has been consistently great. The Whiskey Bleu burger is my favorite, and the cheese curds and drink menu are also great. It's not cheap, but I think the food and drinks are adequately priced for their quality. read more

Burgers were palatable but didn't taste as amazing as their descriptions, and were kind of pricey. Fries are meh. Cheese curds and shakes were amazing. If I find myself in the area I may eat here again, but would probably not bother trying another burger. read more

Went there for the first time Saturday night around 5:45. We were told there'd be a 30 minute wait unless we sat at the bar, so we sat at the bar. Apparently they take reservations as I saw at least one table with a reserved sign on it. Menu has great options. I went with the BBQ bacon burger and subbed tater tots for the fries (which is a $1.50 addtl charge) and a cookie dough shake. The food was very good! Burger was juicy and you could tell was hand crafted, with great flavor and the tots were crunchy which is my favorite way to cook tots. My only issue was I asked for ranch to go with the tots and it took a super long time to get. Then once I was done, I had gotten my shake to go and had already paid for the checks and waited about 10+ mins for it. And it was amazing! Hoping to be back! read more

Stopped here on our return to California during a long road trip covering 16 states. Looking for food on google and Central Standard popped up. Walked in with five in our party and seated immediately. Fun environment. Clean area all around. Our server Bailey was kind, informative and so helpful. Great food and drinks. So many choices from local businesses. Jennifer, the manager, checked in on us and filled her in on our trip. Jennifer was also kind and helpful. Thanks for the experience. So happy we stopped there in a whim. If you're in that area I highly recommend the stop. read more

Looked at ratings, saw it was a new restaurant, and decided to try. Disappointed would be good summary word. Didn't live up to overall rating imho. Saw they have a huge selection of drinks so maybe should have just come for happy hour. 5ive Cities Oktoberfest was good but mild flavor. Sweet and Salty Shake with Kahula was not what I expected at all. Should have read description better. It was a bunch of kids' candies/nuts and stuff thrown into a runny shake with way too much whipped cream on top. Hard to eat/drink through a double straw as everything got stuck in it. And not a thick shake to eat with a spoon. Odd. Also got the chicken buffalo tots that were bland, not very spicy. And finally, the spinach dip with veges. HUGE platter that could have served 8! But hardly any spinach in the dip and way too runny for eating with all that was on the platter. Seemed more like a ranch dressing with cheese melted on top. Not sure we will try this restaurant again. Menu options were good, just not a spectacular food. Like I said, maybe I should have read menu options more carefully. read more

Excellent food and service. Great beer menu. Everything was excellent from start to finish. Wife had the chicken bacon grilled cheese and I had the buttermilk fried chicken. Both were amazing. Their fries were crisp and tasty. Will definitely be coming here regularly. read more

Everything was delicious. The salad and buffalo Mac were so tasty! Love the atmosphere!

Great food and atmosphere! You will definitely walk away full! They have bigger portions and a lunch menu. :)

I had the cheese curds, which were good after 2-3, but then we're so so salty. Also got the veggie burger, literally disgusting- tasted like a mushier version of a McDonald's fish filet- if I returned it'd be to try their milkshakes read more

Seems things have slipped at this establishment. Was high on it but recently food especially has been subpar. Had the brisket & onion mac and it was topped with "brisket" that was nearly all fat! I think the waitress knew when she came to clear plates that it was bad, but didn't even ask if the food was good. Moving on. read more

Second visit & just as great as the first time! Great service & food! Delicious burgers & fries. The shakes are amazing.

What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I both rated our meals as excellent (which we don't do often). I had the portobello Swiss burger, my wife had the pulled pork. Fries and sweet potato fries were awesome. The service was friendly and excellent, but we got there before the lunch rush. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

We arrived at 5pm. Attempted to make a reservation for our party of four but were told they didn't take reservations for groups under 7. Got seated at a high top table and things were going ok. Got cheese curds and a pretzel as an app and took our time enjoying drinks before ordering dinner. After eating our mediocre dinner our waitress asked if we were aware that our table needed to be turned over and ideally could we wrap it up in the next 15 minutes. We expressed our displeasure to the manager as we left but other than apologizing she didn't offer to make any amends for the abrupt end to our evening. Needless to say we will find somewhere else to part with our money for an evening out in the future. read more

The whiskey bleu burger is super good! Lots of fun shakes to try and the fries are pretty good too. Not the most amazing burgers in the world, but better than average! read more

Poor service. Waited for about 20 minutes with my wife wondering who was going to notice us, but there were 4 staff talking at the hostess table. They "specialize" in burgers but its nothing you couldn't make at home. Actually I like a burger at home a little better. read more

Quite possibly the best turkey burger I've ever had! Portions of starters are very large so plan on sharing with the entire table! The spinach artichoke dip was great! We don't eat beef but I hear the hamburgers are also really great. read more

We have been impressed with the food. But on the last visit we got some terribly weak mixed drinks. We mentioned something to our server and they more than took the extra step to make sure we were happy. Nice work! read more

Very good American food. The shakes are really unique and very good. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.
