On our arrival at Newark airport our driver contacted me on where to meet him. Communication was clear . The driver was polite and the sprinter van was clean. On the way back from our wedding in Asbury Park there was an issue with traffic and there was a delay in our pickup. Again communication was very clear both from the owner to the driver. The driver contacted with the estimated time. When he arrived he efficiently put our luggage into the car we piled in and off we went to check in at curbside. The communication is key for me. First time customer of Central Jersey Transportation. Great car service from EWR to Barnegat Light. Got my quote and made my reservation on their website the day before my arrival. Received email confirmation within 15 minutes, and a reservation reminder 12 hours before pickup. Got a text from my driver, Eric, that morning with crystal clear instructions on how to contact him when I landed. Once I contacted Eric, he was there within 6 minutes to greet me. Eric was very professional, and courteous. The car was a beautifully detailed Toyota Avalon. Eric had the temperature and music just to my liking. I felt very comfortable. I'll admit, I was a little nervous using this company after reading some of their reviews, however, I realized most of the bad experiences the reviewers had were self inflicted. Just returned from a trip to the beach that ended up on a very bad experience with CJT and Shawn Felder. Called them on 6/3 for a pickup on 6/5 to EWR for my son and their two toddlers. We asked for a large vehicle to accommodate two car seats (which we would supply) with one being returned to us as it was not going on the plane. Shawn agreed to these terms. With a pickup scheduled for 9:45, the vehicle arrived at 9:55 as a small sedan. Of course this was not acceptable. We attempted to cancel but were assured the right one would be switched in 20 mins. In fact it took 45. The result was a mad dash up the parkway and subsequent dash to the gate with minutes to spare with two very wet babies needing fresh diapers. Then after at least an hour we called Shawn about the car seat and he said he'd get back to us. After three more calls we'll into the evening he finally hung up on my son who made the arrangement and cursed him. The end result is he has not returned the Graco seat and claims he threw it out at EWR. And then ended with a F... U to me in a text. So we lost the seat and will have to replace it. We are contacting the appropriate authorities to determine next steps AVOID CJT. read more

I used this service and recommended Sean for well over 5 years. The cars have never been perfect, but they were always clean. The most recent ride was horrific. Old piece of junk Toyota that was literally rocking to the point where I was concerned for my safety. After I specifically stated in my reso that I was allergic to synthetic fragrances, this car was doused with so much air freshener that I had trouble breathing. Two rotten banana peels right on the floor of the back seat... and to top it off, the driver needed to stop at a port-a-potty to take an emergency bathroom break. I honestly thought I was being punked. There are many other car services that I'd rather give my money to. When I reached out to let them know, I did not receive a response. Used them in the past and it was a beater of a car but they were on time. Planned to use them for a long trip this winter, paid, and was charged the wrong price. They were unable to credit me the difference due to cash flow issues due to CoVID-19 and spoke to me like I was an idiot, going as far as explaining business principles. I told them I did not need the explanation as I have a corporate finance and managerial accounting background. Now, I had to cancel my trip due to travel restrictions. I emailed them on September 3 and did not hear anything. On September 8, I called and emailed and was told I would receive the refund on my card in 4-7 business days. 9 business days later I called again and the agent said the owner would contact me. I received a text message stating that the refund was coming from out of state because the credit card processor can only process refunds within 90 days of the transaction. I am happy to report that I received my refund today. The attitude is off-putting, but the price is right, and I guess you get what you pay for. However, I do feel sorry for small businesses in the travel and transportation sector that have been decimated by the global pandemic. If they would take me as a customer, I would probably take a chance on them again. read more

I had a scheduled ride from Brick to Atlantic City airport for 10:45. I was called by the owner at 10:45 and told there was an error and the driver went to the wrong house. He said he would be to me in 20 minutes. While I waited nervously wondering if I should schedule alternate transportation, the driver did indeed appear in 20 minutes. I also left myself an hour window (just in case)! Other than the car being a bit old, Zach was my driver. He couldn't apologize enough. He was professional and personable. Do not use them when you really need a ride. They canceled on us approximately 36 hours ahead of a planned and confirmed ride that was scheduled over a month in advance. Unreliable, use an Uber or Lyft Reading through some of the earlier reviews, I realize it was a mistake to go with the car service to begin with. Further to the review, the owner of the car service chose to threaten me with litigation for posting a negative review. Although we had no trouble with our ride to PHL, twice there was no car fo us when we returned from our trip. The first time they convinced me it was me who did not call them upon our arrival. Fortunately, there was a driver nearby going in our direction after I called. this last time they forgot to dispatch a car at all. The owner told me to wait and he would find someone to get us home. I called Central Jersey Transportation on November 29th at 8:30AM to make a reservation for Newark airport at 9:00AM on November 30th. I spoke to Shaun and was told he thought he had a driver and instructed me to go to their website and submit a request. I immediately logged in and filled out the request form and submitted it. Not receiving any kind of acknowledgement, I called Shaun back at 8:50AM and was told that requests don't get processed until the afternoon and I would have to wait until then. I explained that I was concerned about not having confirmation because the request was within 24 hours but he assured me I would get confirmation when "he got to it" in the afternoon. Unfortunately, my situation then changed and I had to call back and reschedule transportation. I called Shaun back at 11:07AM to discuss canceling the reservation for now but before I had an opportunity to ask about rescheduling Shaun said "fine, I'll cancel it" and hung up on me. At 11:16AM, I received an email from Shaun stating the cancellation had been processed and I would be charged $35.00 for cancelling. I called Shaun at 11:56AM and stated I was not going to pay a cancellation fee for a reservation that had not ever been scheduled based on the fact that he didn't do scheduling until he "got to it" or that I was not even given an opportunity to reschedule because I was abruptly hung up on. Shaun stated I had agreed to it when I submitted the request on the website, he said "that's why I send people to the website because you have to agree to the cancellation fee" I explained that I did not see that information in the submission form and he vehemently disagreed. At this point Shaun started SCREAMING at me saying he hates people like me because I waste his time with phone calls and then I cancel, he truthfully just kept yelling nasty nonsense about people in general. I ultimately tried to console HIM by explaining my father was in the hospital and my plans had changed and that's why I needed to reschedule. His response was, "I don't care about you or your Father, it's irrelevant." Finally setting me off I cursed at him and hung up. Then I received the following text from him. " Go XXX myself? I hope the nurse put the wrong medicine in your father's iv and he XXX dies BITCH. More importantly, he falsified documentation to support his claims of a cancellation fee. As I'm arguing with him, he sends me a copy of my request form that was supposed to prove that I agreed to a cancelation charge of $35.00. At the top of the document, he sends me it states "I understand that I am booking a reservation not receiving a quote and agree to the terms and conditions." However, the form on his website that I submitted states "I understand that I am booking a reservation not receiving a quote. She was excited but afraid to use her own car to get to the airport because if it breaks down, it will cause much precariousness. She enquired of their services only to be called a 'stupid ass' and told to 'walk to fucking JFK' because she simply asked what the costs would be and upon learning the cost, declined to proceed any further. She was shamed for not "having the fucking money" and she struggled with her mental health for weeks after this because of the way she was repeatedly harassed by text for what should have been transparent. Somehow I missed these reviews when I booked this service for my elderly parents for travel around the holiday. That being said, when I put out a FB request for car services in NJ, they were recommended by more than one of my NJ based friends. My parents didn't report any problems. They had no issue with pick up and arrived to Newark on time. On the return flight they were met at baggage claim, as planned. The driver was a little late to baggage claim but the flight was early and the driver called my Father to alert him. I received email alerts letting me know when the car arrived on location and when they arrived at their destination. My credit card was charged the amount that I was quoted and emailed. Driver was on time, however, he drove very recklessly. Stopped short various times almost hitting the cars in front. Was driving as if he was in a rush, even his phone that he was using for GPS completely fell off the dashboard from slamming on his brakes. He missed a turn and literally drove as if he was the only car on the road over 2 lanes almost causing another accident . The scariest ride with my children in the car. The next day after settling into our vacation home, I called the company. A man name "Sean" answered. If that's his name. He was extremely defensive and was dismissive of my concerns. He rudely stated he would "check the car footage and speak to his driver", but he was speaking with an attitude. Then says, have a nice day, and hangs up the phone, not allowing me to get another word in. I call back to clarify if I would be assured to get a different driver, and he must have caller ID and answers "ugh, CENTRAL JERSEY TRANSPORT!!!" He knew it was me, confirming that he was bothered by my call. When I called him out on his tone, he proceeded to yell at me. I told him that I was going to post a review and he went ballistic on me!! Screaming at me. " I already told you that I was going to check the footage and talk to my driver, you call me threatening me? What else do you want me to do and I also told you that you would have another driver!!" He did NOT tell me that I would have a different driver, hence why I called him back. That's all I wanted, but he failed to tell me that during the first call. He goes on and on how I'm threatening him. All I said was that I was going to post a review of my experience. Totally valid for me to protect other people's safety! I had to hang up because he wouldn't stop yelling. Mind you I told him "sir I'm disconnecting this call". He didn't hear me because he was screaming at me. He calls me back and I allow my husband to answer. My husband was super calm but this man made it very clear he wanted to know if I hung up on him to fight with me some more. He began to go on and on like a child, not a business owner, how I "threatened him". My husband tried to interrupt him to end the back and forth and this man would not let off. This man told him "F you, F your wife, and your raggedy kids, I don't give a F about you and your family you can walk! I'll F you up, come see me, come see me!" Absolutely awful . I even googled photos of the address and it's a law firm office. This business doesn't even have a real office. Please please please don't believe these positive reviews. Pay the extra money for better and safer service. He cancelled our way home trip, thank God! We booked another service and it was such an amazing experience. Their F rating with the BBB is understandable. The owner is incompetent and crazy. It took 3 emails and 3 phone calls to get him to put the correct time for pick up. When I finally got him on the phone I was told it was in the queue. Our driver was fine, but the car was old and odiferous. When we returned from our trip I phoned to say we were early and where we would be waiting with our luggage. Of course he had the wrong time. I lost my patience and told him his customer service sucked. He went nuts and started screaming. My husband took the phone, but he got worse and ended up canceling our ride. He kept calling to yell and I stopped answering my phone. So he started sending YELLING texts. There were so many lies in the correspondence it became amusing. He claims he refunded my credit card that morning (two months ago), but it never came through. We are out $200. Save time, aggravation and money and book someone else. read more

I just got off the off the phone the "owner" - one star here ONLY, which covers that fact that my mother made it to the airport in one piece. The old town car she was picked up in had visible front end damage. The driver was using an app he downloaded to replace the fact that his speedometer was BROKE (this is illegal, BTW.) Not to mention he was having to constantly look at his phone - coming off the horrible limo crash in update NY I'm paying more attention to these details when booking car services as should everyone. When I called to talk with the owner / manager he was combative, had "no idea" what I was talking about, became aggressive and spoke over me; had no intention to hear me out or rectify the situation. I asked him if has daily / weekly visible contact with his drivers and has eyes on the cars with frequency and his answer was " yes, of course" ( in a condescending voice) - which tells me he does not. I also told him the driver looked disheveled and wasn't wearing anything that identified him as a driver with Central Jersey Transportation - he told me he'd speak to the driver, I told him I actually prefer he'd not confront the driver as he knows where my mother lives, he then proceed to say " well, I mean , my drivers aren't KILLERS" - again condescending voice. Total RIP off! Mistakenly booked to pick up on Thursday when needed on Tuesday. On Tuesday call looking for car they state have for Thursday. I advise them to cancel Thursday and call Uber. Received an email confirming trip is canceled and I respond to that email asking for my refund of 134.00. Dont receive refund so I call and am informed all cancellations must be in writing 2 days before. Advise I responded to an email from them confirming cancelation. They state that it came from a do not respond email. No refund ! All BS they confirmed trip was cancelled with their email 2days before. Not customer friendly! DO NOT USE! read more
