Wasn't for us. Which is why you take visits, right!? However, admissions rep who gave the info session was as good or better than others we've seen in the state university system. Note: bookstore inventory for gear is boarderline embarrassing for a D1 school. Clearly want to push you on line. We were not buyers today - in general - but wanted to see. If you're a fan or want gear for your student or athlete - look on line only.

The worst school ever. Parents if you are reading this- I urge you not to let your children go to…read morethis school. 1. The bursars office and administration are some of the rudest people I have ever met in my life (and I work in an ER) if that says anything. They are the least helpful people. All they want is your money and that's it. 2.The teachers are not kind whatsoever. They don't help the students at all. They don't respond to their emails. My math teacher (she was the only russian math teacher there) literally bullied me the entire semester I was there. During finals, in the middle of the class she word for word said out loud "i don't know why you're here when you're going to fail it anyways." to me DURING MY FINAL. 3. When trying to withdrawal from a class, I had to email my professor asking her to sign the form. She responded to my email "Who are you?" when I had already went to about 6-7 of her classes. When I responded, she never responded back to me which resulted in me getting charged for the class. 4. The president of academic affairs literally got arrested for kidnapping and assaulting the students on campus. Look it up. 5. The school in its entirety, is an absolute dump. It's extremely depressing. (Oh and for the students that are reading this that are thinking about coming here, I'm just going to let you know now that there are literally no parties, NB police shuts them down before they even start) 6. I really hate to say this but CCSU has a very bad reputation of sexual assaults occurring on campus. A lot of my friends went here as well and every single one has gotten sexually assaulted here (some even more than once.) The school has done nothing about it. (You can look this up as well) So parents, I would reconsider letting your daughter go here. 7. OH AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST! When you are done attending CCSU, they tell you you need to pay your tuition in 6 months otherwise it goes into collections. I'm sorry, but I did not have $10,000 laying around nor was I going to be able to come up with 10g's in 6 months. (What a Joke) They also did not even try to work with me or help me they gave me that one option and that was it. AND if you don't pay in full, they will not release your transcript to you. (if you were transferring schools/going back to school, etc) All in all, this school is absolutely terrible. I would not go back here or recommend this school to anyone. It's not just me who didn't like it either, everyone Ive talked to hated it and had an awful experience. I basically summed up what had happened to me while i was at CCSU and sent it to the president of the school and all she responded with was "would you like to give me a call" literally that was it (and the email I sent was probably 3 paragraphs long) Terrible staff, terrible campus, terrible FOOD, terrible extra curricular programs. Everything about this school is awful. HOWEVER, I did like my advisor a lot, she was very caring and kind and really tried to help me. Other than that, they should shut this school down with how many complaints and sexual assault cases that occurred here.

The first time I was nearing graduation they found an excuse to deny my financial aid so I became unenrolled. When I became eligible to re-enroll their catalog had changed and there were more courses for me to take. A couple years later I'm graduating, and they tell me I got a "D" in a class I needed a "C" in. After doing everything I possibly could (which was nothing because it's a set-up) to get the grade changed, the provost refused to help me out. I spoke with the president of the school who offered to waive the course fee if I agreed to retake the course. I agreed, but informed him that I needed a break first. I was really exhausted from all they had put me through. Plus I needed some time to focus on my family and get my head right after a few back-to-back tragedies we had experienced. I was feeling like crashing out. Eventually, about 18 months later, I retake the course and pass it, but the catalog had changed-- and once again, I've gotta take a bunch more courses. Only now I'm at 129 college credits (3.0 GPA) and I won't qualify for financial assistance towards this degree, ever again. I have offered professional certificates, real-life work projects, letters from employers and businesses partners, but nothing has been sufficient. I'm a single mother with two daughters, what do these evil people expect me to do now? I don't want their "next catalog year" degree, I want the one I earned and paid for. This is gatekeeping. It's sick to think they get away with this. Reading these reviews is infuriating. I wish I had done my research.

I would have given zero stars if I could've…read more Do not go here. They're almost exclusively accelerated courses, and don't offer much for the full semester. The course load for these is astronomically obscene. Not sure how the professors expect students to work full time while taking these courses and being able to pass. Trying to get a hold of any other department besides the advisor was like pulling teeth. They do not work with students who are trying to get clarification or help in dropping a class. It seems like this institution only cares about their money and not the academic aspect of the student life. Highly disgusted that I wasted money and still can't get any answers in regards to the program(s). Waste of time and money.

The college was located on land they had purchased and later sold to the State of CT in 1845, that property is now called Bushnell Park. The Green is distinct as it has no paths through it; the Elm trees on the green are planted in a "T" for Trinity. When I attempted to access my student account to investigate, the original website was no longer available. The new website claims I do not have an account, preventing me from gathering any evidence to support my case. The Tunxis finance department was unhelpful, stating the matter was already in collections and my only recourse was to file an appeal through the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system. Despite the lack of records from Tunxis - they claim to have downsized their records department and purged student data when Tunxis moved to a new site- and the fact that they could not provide any information about the alleged registration (such as the device's IP address used to register, attendance records), the appeal was decided in favor of the college. This is a clear injustice. It's unacceptable that Tunxis can claim I registered for classes without providing any evidence, especially after eight years have passed. Their negligence in record-keeping and dismissive attitude towards my situation is appalling. I urge anyone considering attending Tunxis Community College to think twice. Their lack of accountability and disregard for student well-being make it a risky choice. Explore other community college options that prioritize transparency and student support.
