My father was involved in a business loss and had to file for BK. Our main concern was saving our…read morehome from the debts owed. However, he never clarified to my father that a BK would not save our house. He changed the BK from a ch. 13 to a ch. 7 without explaining why. He didn't advise what the effects of end results would be or nothing. Even more importantly, after the BK was over, HE NEVER TOLD MY FATHER THAT A LIEN WAS STILL ON THE HOME EVEN AFTER THE BK!!!!! This resulted in our loans maturing and resulting in default with a bunch of accumulated debt over several years until today where the creditors are now seeking to foreclose on our home!! Completely shoddy job by the attorney who failed to inform my father about the effects of the Ch. 7 BK. Even more so, my father went to their office last year after we received a suspicious letter from the creditors indicating a default, to which his staff responded that we did not have to worry about it because the BK cured everything. Again, more negligence from his office for failing to review and advise properly! When my father confronted him about what if anything did the Ch. 7 case do, he said "it bought you time" uhhh not really since we had no idea we were on the clock!!!! He did nothing but put us further in a mess. And he still has the audacity to charge us to file a separate Ch 13 BK which he now advises will not save our home but only delay the foreclosure. I would seriously stay away from this office. We will be meeting with a legal malpractice attorney and filing a legal malpractice suit against him.
