Lone Star Laundry

Lone Star Laundry

Last time I did my laundry here was about 2 -3 months ago, so perhaps things changed. I hope if…read morethey did it's for the better as I can't see them getting any worse for this place! I gave them one star because they are close to me and I love the location, it's very convient and an excellent spot for a laundry mat. The second star was for the hours I love any place that is 24 hours. Especially for things that are necessities like laundrymats and grocery stores and post mail box places, in my humble opinion they should always be 24/7. For things that aren't necessities I think it's great that they are 24/7 as well, but I think necessities like a place to do laundry, they should all be 24/7 I think. So yeah, so far the location and hours is all this place has got going for it! Which is a shame as I was so excited when I seen it open, especially as it's new you would think that it's a really nice place to go to clean your clothes, but no it's not a nice place at all. The washer machines were average price for the size and it's a bit small of a building with not many washers available. I went at night around 11pm, as some 24/7 laundry mats have late night discounts on their machines after 12 Midnight, but not here unfortunately. So I managed to get enough machines since it was later on in the evening and not very crowded. There was a couple there with me, whom were in the middle of a inflamed debate about whatever I certainly wasn't trying to find out, and to make matters worse, the female member of the duo was giving me a really exaggerated stink eye, like I was the reason for their falling out, it was bizarre and making me feel quite uncomfortable, but I ain't gonna get punked out of a laundromat any day/ night, that's just not happening. So I throw my loads (I always wash/ dry at least about 4 huge duffle bags worth when I decide to take it in to be done.) As far as my drying, for new machines and for the price one would assume they would be using excellent brand new dryers that dry the garments quickly. But here's the next disappointment, they were not cheap machines by any stretch of the imagination but if they worked and they were clean and maintained I think I would have been just fine by paying those prices, but that was not the case. First of all the whole place was filthy, there was trash cans filled to the brim with stinky trash, not just laundry detergent empty containers which are sweet clean smelling no there was like old bar b que party aluminum tins, mixed with old subway sandwich food wrappers muddy clothes that were too dirty to clean half in the container and the rest reaching out of it. It was pretty gross, the floor was equally gross and felt sticky like the floors of movie theaters back in the day. The dryers had lots of dust bunnies floating around in their, so I don't know if they clean the lint traps there or not, but I'm guessing the latter on what I witnessed and smelled on this night. I manage to fight through the stench, and I didn't bother to even fold my laundry cause I wasn't trying to stay in there any longer than I had to as by this time a few groups of unsheltered men came in there with what intention I have no idea, I assume just to get out of the street for a bit, they didn't ask for money or anything which was good since I didn't have any more cash on my person anyway if they did, I had to use the restroom really bad, and at this point my back teeth were floating, so I loaded up my stuff as fast as I could to my car, which was parked directly out front, and as I was doing this a car comes flying into the parking lot doing about 45-55 mph, and tried to do like a fast and furious Miami drift move and comes pretty close to myself and my car, so I leave as there was no restroom available there and if there was I'm sure it wouldn't be a good experience to utilize it. So, due to this place being unsanitary, stinky, overpriced, not well maintained, and slightly dangerous due to the unsavory crowd that tends to gravitate towards this gross establishment I do not think I will be going there in the future to review it again. I think I prefer to wash my clothes in a creek beating them on a rock!

When it is dirty, you just rip up the rug from the pad and wash it. Ours is much too big and heavy for our home washer, so we take it to the laundromat. Now, I haven't used a laundromat very many times in my life. But, we used Google to find one in our area. It seemed that the Kwik Wash on Grissom Road was the closest. It was less than five minutes from the house, so we went. There were only about six or seven people there while we were there. Some of them came and went, but we stayed until the rug was washed and dried. The machines we used were nice modern-looking and industrial strength. There were a few that were out of order on the back wall, but they looked like they were going to be removed and replaced. There were a lot of machines, so finding one to use was not hard. The instructions are clearly displayed on them, which is good for those of us who are one time visitors. It took a lot of quarters, but we came prepared. Besides, they have several change machines, had we needed them. The machines we used were very clean. In fact, although this place shows its age, everything seemed clean and well cared for. There were two gentlemen actually painting the walls while we were there. There are plenty of signs telling you to walk carefully and keep an eye on your things. We were completely finished washing and drying the rug within an hour. When we put it back down at the house, I was very impressed with how clean it was. While going to a laundromat is not something I hope to do on the regular, I wouldn't mind going to this one. Overall, it met my expectations and needs. The other people there all seemed friendly and welcoming.
