I love this place! The Pack is a cool spot for dogs and dog…read morelovers. The space is used as a doggy day care but you can also bring your dog and hang out. Even if you don't have a dog, you can come to chill with doggos and it's not weird at all. There is a large indoor gated area and an outdoor gated area with some seating. There is also an area where dogs aren't allowed with a bar, food, and a sort of gift shop. To bring your dog here, they must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. You have to pay to bring your dog here and there are punchcards or monthly memberships available. There are staff on duty at all times to help with dog crowd control and keep the chaos to a minimum. I come here a lot and sometimes it's super chill and quiet and other times the dogs are all rowdy and loud. They also do special events like trivia, comedians, and foam parties for the dogs!

The kennel attendant did nothing. I had to keep putting my body between my dog and the other dog to try and deescalate the situation until after a handful of times I decided to leave as my pass money lost is better than a vet bill. I watched several dogs pee on the floor and the attendant didn't pick up most of them. They offered to put another credit on my account but I said don't bother as I live an hour away and I won't be back.

Didn't know this place was even here until someone told me about it the other day. I stopped by…read morewith the pooch last night and was thrilled to know there was a place where my little guy could run and play. Located on the East End of town, the dog park was a little tricky for me to find out how to get to it. Not being from here originally, I'm not quite familiar with everything. I figured it out though by entering the park off Franklin and driving towards the boat ramp. The entrance to the dog park is right next to the boat ramp. Separate areas for small and large dogs, although while I was there, the small dog area (which is also smaller in size) was the only area with dogs in them.. and they were larger dogs. My guy will play with anyone though and he was happy to have someone to play with. Great little free park and I'm sure I'll be back quite often.

However it's also located right next to the sewer treatment plant, so if there's a stiff wind, watch out! The large-dog area is HUGE and has a nice rolling hill for dogs to run over. It doesn't have water stations like other parks in the area, but just outside of the fenced area there is a dog water station. It could use a bench or two for seating, but it's nicely maintained and a spacious spot for dogs to burn through their energy. I would recommend visiting!

So when I stepped…read moreup to the check-in counter at Millennium Park Boat Rentals, the thoughts in my head were: Wow! It only costs $8 per hour to rent a kayak? Sweet! Wow! These people checking me in and telling me safety information are incredibly young! Will they be able to save me and my family if our kayaks flip over and we fall into the lake? Wow! What a beautiful day! But I wonder how often people fall into the lake. I also wonder how deep the lake is. I also wonder if it's possible to be trapped underwater if your kayak flips over. In the end, I decided to kick it on the sandy beach and wave at my family as they happily paddled on the lake. They had a great time kayaking. I had a great time not kayaking. Like Hot Chocolate says: Everyone's a winner, baby. Kayaks are either single-person or double, and we used one of each. There are very few instructions given, which was a little alarming to me. (You mean you just assume we know what we're doing?!) But fortunately, my family knew what they were doing, so they didn't need much instruction to get themselves out on the water. As you paddle around the lake, you pass the Millennium Park beach and splash pad, plus little islands here and there. There is about four miles of shoreline to explore. I was told that the lake was nice and calm, and that it was a pleasant time on the water. We rented kayaks, but Millennium Park Boat Rentals also offers canoes, paddle boats and stand-up paddle boards to rent. Keep in mind that rentals are seasonal -- this place is only open from Memorial Day-ish to Labor Day-ish.
