Dealing with this bank is annoying at best. The banking app doesn't show transaction updates in a…read moretimely fashion, letting a dozen transactions sit in pending for three days before reconciling. On a weekend, I can wait five days before a deposit or purchase moves past pending. Recently, It was a check from someone else using this same bank! Why does it take a five day business week to ensure funds your own bank already has? On a check under $200! The open hours to go inside for customer service are not realistic for those of us who work. And when my debit card was hacked last month, CNB said I had to go inside a branch to order a replacement. Great, except you are only open during the hours I work. So I had no way of accessing my paycheck for two weeks until I used PTO and lost a half day of work in order to access the lobby hours. Couldn't do a regular bank transfer unless I waited multiple days for the transaction. Turns out they also have a limit on Zelle transfers, so I couldn't even send myself money to another account instantly after a few days. I don't own paper checks. I don't pay bills by mail. Yet this was their suggestion? They have my direct deposit every two weeks like clockwork, but won't let me get that money out since my card got hacked. So as a bank overall, CNB is a dumpster fire. This particular branch does have great employees, however. I especially approve of the young man with autism. I always look forward to seeing him and utilizing a business that supports inclusive employment. Yes, he is talkative. But he handle my business very professionally every time. I have seen horrible behavior by other customers toward him and the other employees nearly every visit. None of it as a result of poor customer service. They came in rude and insulting, targeting the man who was different. I hope management remembers that their employees are faced with the bottom of the barrel as far as customer base at this location. They will be unjustly verbally harassed and insulted daily. I support the employees at this location, but not the bank as a whole.

On 11/29/2001 I was tasked with taking a $60.00…read moredepsoit in cash to her bank, BB&T to cover her cars insurance which she relies on for others to drive her to doctors, pharmacy etc. The teller promptley asked if I was on the account, which Im not and refused the deposit since I or her in her absense couldnt prove where the cash came from, could I write her a check for the amount to deposit??? The same bank that reposseced her car when she was hospitalized even though there were more than sufficeint funds in accounts with BB&T both savings and checking, maybe a red flag should have gone up? A concientious employee maybe? It cost her 1800.00 to to recover her car all for sake of a 300.00 past due 2 month payment of 150.00. Bank employees need to be more alert to their customers and held accountable for their actions and inactions. Had I taken 601.00 in cash I could see the (reuctantly) the concern, but 60.00 that may be once in a lifetime to cover car insurance...come on.

They approved me for 18% and $218/Month which is $70/month MORE than I was already paying. The point of a debt consolidation loan is to LOWER my monthly payments. Totally missed the mark on that one. Mobile app is outrageously confusing. And, as a lower class customer, I get 6-9¢ a month interest yield. Again, not impressed. You cant get debits from your savings, so you cant set up a bill to be deducted from your savings. Its MY account, MY money, let me handle my financial strategy. You just hold my money for me. Also, only $20 a month in ATM surcharge rebates and, heres the catcher, there isnt a single ATM within 30 miles of me. If there is, I haven't found it. Howabout I get my surcharge rebates for unlimited times because of unavailability of ATMs?! Only reason I switched was because they were theonly bank that was in Hawaii that was relatively close to home when I retired from the Army. No contest with USAA. I will be going back to USAA. Then, there is the stupid posting of pending deposits. I get a pending deposit showing 3-5 days before it actually posts. And, if it says that it will post on a certain day, you would expect it to be there that morning. NOPE. 12am the NEXT morning. Ie: pending deposit on 27th. Actual time deposit, 12am, or later one the 28th. Why not just say the 28th???! Soon as my stuff is paid off, Ill be going back to USAA. Sionara NFCU!

Winchester Navy Federal (newer location past Walmart) -- long wait, no communication…read more I'm writing this about the second Winchester, Virginia Navy Federal site, the newer one past Walmart. I've been in a couple of times and the staff were helpful. The last visit was different. I waited over 30-45 minutes just to talk about adding a member to my account. Nobody came out to say they were sorry for the delay or that there might be a wait. I finally walked up to the lobby desk and explained the situation. The person there apologized, but when I asked for the manager, I was told she was in a meeting. It sounded like they were short-staffed because people had called in. If they can't staff the branch, they can't support members properly. That's a poor way to treat the people this credit union is supposed to serve -- including America's service members and their families. As an OIF combat veteran, this is disappointing. I may try the Berryville location and see if they have their act together. I also don't understand why Navy Federal -- a credit union built around military pay -- still doesn't have active drive-up lanes with a clerk at the window, the way other banks and credit unions do. Even ordinary banks that don't primarily serve military families have a drive-up teller. Navy Fed should too. Also the Manager after being asked a question regarding my situation with adding a member, she then agrees that I shouldn't have a problem adding my fiancée to the account, then I get to the desk and the new guy fumbles around and kept getting up to get clarity himself from other people and then says I can't get my request fulfilled today haha.......................................................... What a joke
