I had a bad experience where a BBT bank staff member at this branch was critical, rude with a bad attitude instead of being cooperative with us. She continued to sink her claws into us with critical and negative comments instead of helping us with next steps forward. I left the bank feeling absolutely deflated. Not what you'd expect from simply visiting your bank. I want to work with someone's whose cooperative and moves us in the right direction. read more

I am in the process of moving my account to a different financial institution because BB&T management stopped caring about small depositors. (Not me - I maintained a mid-5-figure balance in my checking account with them.) My son had opened a small account there that was supposedly a "free" checking account. A few months later the bank apparently changed the rules on this account, charging a fee for a balances under $1000. My son hadn't been using the account and didn't notice the fine print in with his statement, and was dismayed to learn that his account was overdrawn - the bank fees had eaten up his initial deposit and now he owed them money. Subsequent discussions with bank employees and the bank manager were of no help - they wouldn't even let him close the account unless he paid their fees. Bottom line, if you are a small depositor, you're probably better off at a credit union or a small local bank that cares about its customers and community more. read more

If you are the type of person that needs some time in your day to stay quiet and meditate or compile a "to do" list in your head, or just think about stuff, this BB&T branch is for you. It is in a fine building and has a beautiful lobby. There are eight or nine teller stations (five up front and three or four in the rear (for drive in customers)) and this is the problem - there are only two tellers on duty most of the time - occasionally there are three. Every time I go in to deposit a check there is a six to ten minute wait. This is where you get to meditate and plan, on line waiting for service, if you aren't fuming because you have other business to attend to elsewhere. Today, after a ten minute wait I deposited my check and walked in to a manager's office and let loose, telling her that I'd be on Social Media tonight warning folks about the lack of service at this bank. The manager followed me into the lobby, pointing to the tellers and commenting on how hard they were working. I responded - loudly and to thumbs up from the other customers - that the problem was obvious - there aren't enough tellers on duty and never are. So, if you need a time and place to kick back and think and do nothing, this bank is for you. read more

Dealing with this bank is annoying at best. The banking app doesn't show transaction updates in a…read moretimely fashion, letting a dozen transactions sit in pending for three days before reconciling. On a weekend, I can wait five days before a deposit or purchase moves past pending. Recently, It was a check from someone else using this same bank! Why does it take a five day business week to ensure funds your own bank already has? On a check under $200! The open hours to go inside for customer service are not realistic for those of us who work. And when my debit card was hacked last month, CNB said I had to go inside a branch to order a replacement. Great, except you are only open during the hours I work. So I had no way of accessing my paycheck for two weeks until I used PTO and lost a half day of work in order to access the lobby hours. Couldn't do a regular bank transfer unless I waited multiple days for the transaction. Turns out they also have a limit on Zelle transfers, so I couldn't even send myself money to another account instantly after a few days. I don't own paper checks. I don't pay bills by mail. Yet this was their suggestion? They have my direct deposit every two weeks like clockwork, but won't let me get that money out since my card got hacked. So as a bank overall, CNB is a dumpster fire. This particular branch does have great employees, however. I especially approve of the young man with autism. I always look forward to seeing him and utilizing a business that supports inclusive employment. Yes, he is talkative. But he handle my business very professionally every time. I have seen horrible behavior by other customers toward him and the other employees nearly every visit. None of it as a result of poor customer service. They came in rude and insulting, targeting the man who was different. I hope management remembers that their employees are faced with the bottom of the barrel as far as customer base at this location. They will be unjustly verbally harassed and insulted daily. I support the employees at this location, but not the bank as a whole.

This was perfect since we came in to get a checking account, and this one is more forgiving towards students.
