They were excellent until covid came along. In the process they allowed fear to take over and made an agreement with a large corporation. I didn't see much change until September this year when I needed them again. Now I seriously am thinking of changing if I can find someone else who can do what I need. This new company sold them a package which changed everything for the worse. The service has deteriorated quickly since September. Communication and scheduling has suffered. I was supposed to be having therapy once a week and in November was seen once. I find no fault with the people in the field. They are struggling to do their jobs. The parent company also tried to introduce a vaccine mandate. Even doctors are having difficulty scheduling their patients for therapy. Just a heads up. I hope things will get better but it doesn't look promising.

I recently moved to the area and had not yet established a primary care provider. I had…read moreexperienced extreme dizziness/nausea/cold sweats several times in a one day period of time. I was unable to find a doctor's appointment immediately, so I agreed to see a nurse practitioner. I was not greeted with a hello or a smile from the receptionist. I'm ok with that, not everyone is pleasant. She looked at me without a greeting and said I'm going to need to see ID and your insurance card and tossed the paperwork I needed to complete at me. I asked if she would like to make a copy of my meds because in any other doctor's office I have been in (ever) they appreciate that gesture. I was told that there was a section on the form where I could fill that in. OK, no problem. I'm sitting in the reception room with a few other patients and the receptionist calls out my name and says "I checked your insurance online and it is not active". I was totally confused because I had just spoken to my insurance company the day before and I knew I was insured. I asked if she could possibly call and be sure. She said, "no, that is not my responsibility". I asked if I could perhaps use a telephone to check myself and she looked at me with a sarcastic grin and said no. I was so taken aback at the lack of courtesy and cooperation. I don't want to forget her nasty "I'm going to need $130.00 from you today. I said ok, but you have not been very nice to me. I was admitted and seen by the nurse practitioner who was pleasant enough. I was so upset when the nurse took my blood pressure, it was quite high. I came home and immediately called my insurance. My new insurance card had not arrived at my new home yet, and I had inadvertently handed her my old card. My insurance company provided me with the information I needed to supply the doctor's office with in order for them to resubmit the claim. I called this pleasant receptionist and tried to explain the circumstances nicely to her, but all she had to say was "I've been over this with you already". YOU NEED TO BRING US A HARD COPY OF YOUR INSURANCE. I went all the way back to the doctor's office with my entire health insurance file and my numbers. Again, she said "I told you we need to see your card". When I walked in both receptionists were snickering as if they were enjoying the entire experience. Keep in mind, I thought I had a stroke or minor heart attack and I'm dealing with this. I asked to see the doctor and was told she was in with a patient. I said "I'll wait". Few minutes later, the nurse practitioner I saw came into the waiting room to talk to me. He was nice enough, but he was not going to let me see that doctor. I asked when I could speak to her, and was pretty much brushed off. At that point, I just left. My family history with heart problems puts me in a high risk category. My dad died from a massive stroke at 47. I am 62 with high blood pressure and anxiety. It was not recommended that I make a follow up appointment with the doctor to be sure. I was told it sounds like an inner ear infection. Instead of looking at the big picture and maybe thinking that I might be upset, I was told by the receptionist (who claimed she was the office manager) when I asked to speak to anyone else, that I was horrible. That was in response to me telling her that she treated me terrible and I thought she was horrible. I moved from Minnesota for the laid back, less stress atmosphere, and I met the only person who has mistreated me since I arrived here. I feel very sorry for the older patients who go there and may experience insurance issues or be even remotely confused. I never did see the doctor, so I can't speak to her manner. I would not recommend this place to anyone. No apology, nothing even after I went down there with all my appropriate paperwork. Stay away!

As likable as Dr. Rucker is, and as much as he's helped others, I wound up being started on too…read morehigh a dose of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) which ultimately had the side effects of depression, loss of appetite, inability to sleep, and achy joints and pains. Because of this, I began researching dosing for LDN and learned that a person with my health issues (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis being one) should be started on LDN at no higher than 1.5 mg/day. I was started at 3 mg. Efforts to get me to a dose I feel comfortable with have gone ignored. I've phoned, emailed, and hand-delivered a letter to the office, seeking a way to find a dose that works for me. My efforts to communicate with the office and the doctor have been ignored. I paid $350 for the first appointment with this doctor, with the understanding he'd work with me with the medication he prescribed. That hasn't happened. He seems to be a guy who doesn't want to hear from patients who don't respond well to his prescriptions. It's very upsetting, but he's quite a charming guy so I believed him. There are other doctors in the Sarasota area who also prescribe LDN. I'll be looking to find another provider. p.s. The office staff aren't well-trained either. One put another patient's chart where I could easily have read it. They messed up delivery of my medication, blaming it on the pharmacy when it was the doctor's office who'd set the policies in place, and they got my address wrong. In short, other than the brief meeting I had with Dr. Rucker, the rest of the experience has been disappointing.
