These people should be shut down. We paid off all but 72 cents of our mortgage in September of 2020. We tried to pay the balance online but the website wouldn't allow us to pay any amount. They did not do the electronic payment as scheduled either, so we requested a payoff statement in January of 2021. On Cenlar's paperwork and online, it says the payoff is free if mailed and $30.00 if emailed or faxed. We had the statement mailed yet they applied the $30.00 charge to our account for the payoff statement. When we got the statement, it showed a negative balance due to prepaid interest. The payoff with the recording was $120.80. If you subtracted the $30.00 fee they had added it should have been $90.80. Although the payoff showed that it was mailed on the 4th we received it on the last day it was good through and banks were already closed. Also it was incorrect due to the statement prep fee. We waited to receive something in the mail, but did not receive anything until February. We looked online, and from September to January nothing. in January, the credit on the account was gone. Just disappeared, not entry of any kind just gone, non-existent. On this bill late fees were added of $171.79. Really when we had a negative balance due to the prepaid interest credit. We have been calling almost daily and some days three and four times to try and resolve this and fees keep piling up, they promise a supervisor will call back which hasn't happened. I even left a message on the CEO's phone, don't know how I got through, still no call back. No correction of bill. we lost a refinance on our primary home, due to not having this paid off and a 63 day late payment was reported on our credit. Calls and letters threatening foreclosure come every few days. We have been on the phone trying to get this handled no one can help, but we are told we will be called back. No call back has ever been received, but over 12 promises of a call back. Stay away from CENLAR. Don't deal with them. They are dishonest, adding fees, holding tile to homes hostage, erroneously and maliciously damaging peoples credit. They are ripping people off and make it more trouble to deal with them then pay fees. If you have had a similar experience please message me. We need to pursue apny and all legal remedies available to use against them. UPDATE So I get a quick message back asking me to consider changing my review to 3 stars due to 40 minute quick response. Then two hours later get an message saying the woman who responded is with the social media team and can't help, but someone from the resolution team will contact me in 2 to 3 business days. I am not sure why my original review was on the "not included reviews" but my issue which i thought would be resolved has not been. Cenlar is one step up from the worst customer service I have ever encountered, that company was and will always be Comcast! I have a Refi coming up and all that I needed was a copy of my billing statement to send to the bank, well I called twice and sent an email in a three week span to no avail. After waiting a frustrating three weeks hoping i would have the statement in my mailbox I decided to call this AM. Wow even worse customer service from Sierra-7377, if you ever call customer service and get her please hang up and call back praying you get someone else, literally anyone. After not being able to help me the first time I called Sierra connected me to a fax machine, the second call today Sierra answered again she connected to some voicemail where the mailbox was full. The third call one again was Sierra, which again when she could do nothing but give me excuses why she could not help me yet again she connected me to a fax machine. If nothing else I am very persistent and called a fourth time, praying to God she would not answer. My prayers were NOT answered I got another customer service operator named Samantha. Samantha another customer service representative was again no help to me. That one star review above should be a no star review for customer service after six calls and one email. Samantha did NOT get me what I have requested in the timely manner like she promised, and Samantha does NOT deserve a nod!!! So again my issues are NOT resolved after looking everyday for MY BILLING STATEMENT in the mailbox, and as for Samantha she is a down right LIAR!!! Incompetent Company - AVOID!! Zero stars. I refinanced my VA home mortgage with United Wholesale Mortgage, which outsources servicing to Cenlar FSB. That decision has been a nightmare I'm still living nearly 3 months later. From day one, Cenlar (through UWM) claimed my verified bank account was incorrect -- the same account I verified through their own system. After multiple failed attempts and useless customer service calls, they froze my account and demanded certified checks. My bank issued them. They were delivered and confirmed delivery was two weeks ago. Cenlar has still done nothing with them. Every time I call to ask why they haven't been posted, I get some useless answer with absolutely no assistance. I have begged to send wire transfer or any verifiable payment that does not rely on this useless company to take action- they have refused every time. In the meantime, they have assessed over $500 in late fees for a delinquency that is entirely their own creation, and they have now reported my account to the credit bureaus as delinquent, dropping my credit score by more than 100 points-- for payments I have been actively trying to make since day one. Customer service has been completely useless at every level. No one takes ownership, no one escalates, and nothing gets resolved. I have now filed formal complaints with the CFPB, the VA Loan Guaranty Service, and all three credit bureaus, and I have submitted a Qualified Written Request under RESPA. If you are a veteran considering UWM for a VA loan, understand that Cenlar is who will actually be handling your mortgage -- and their track record speaks for itself. read more

When we aren't on hold for 30, 40, 50 minutes then we are speaking to someone who has no clue what to do. They claimed to open a case to figure out what happened, we received an email saying the case has been closed and when we called to ask what the resolution is they claimed there was no case!!! When their email system "secure network" wasn't working they asked us to FAX documents- fax?! Next, we are promised a call from a supervisor. NEVER HAPPENED. Do not trust this company! Who can save us and help us from this worst experience I have ever had dealing with a mortgage company like CENLAR. How can I even describe my frustrations with this company! CENLAR disabled my online mortgage payment. It only gave me an option to call 800-223-6527. After multiple calls, I could pay my mortgage on Sep 28, 2020 through a phone with a live agent 3 days before its due date on Oct, 1. Got the email confirmation on my payment BUT they have not applied that payment to my mortgage yet after 10 days!! Called them multiple times on different days with no clear explanations. Yesterday, tried it again!! I talked with the first rep, the first thing he said was your mortgage is due!! Then, when I said I paid it on Sep 28, said oh yeah! I see it in the system but we put it on the suspense account!!!! This amount is cleared from my bank on Sep 30, could not get my answer, transferred me to the customer care department. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, another rep said this payment went somewhere else and she could not answer what has happened, put me on hold multiple times, said the supervisor is not available and then, put me on another hold and then, disconnected the call!!! I was on that call for 1 hour, 26 minutes!!! When I login to my account, I still see the past due message for a mortgage I paid ahead of time!!! was released from bk back in May 2019. they've always allowed me to view my schedules and tax info etc through the website. I also go onto the site to determine how much I'll pay towards extra principle. Today = they've determined that I'm not permitted ANY access to my loan as they havn't heard from my (overwhelmed) trustee yet - AFTER 16 MONTHS OF ALLOWING IT - and, now I'm in a yelling match with CSR who have wayyyy to much authority and wayyyy too little knowledge of what they speak. This business is a sham!!!! Stay far far away from LoanAdministration.com or Cenlar.com both same company. Woman was rude to the point of my raising my voice - then she threatens me by saying "I'll simply hang up if you yell at me" I was NOT yelling - I was trying to make a point. Theyve forbidden to me see where my $$ is going, and when my taxes are due!!! My yearly mortgage taxes are due by Jan 1st . Cenlar sent an email they were paying them on Dec15 ...and they still are not paid . Every year cenlar pays them literally last min so not surprised they are late this year . By law they have to pay them since they are escrowed. If the county dosent receive by Jan 14 a late fee is added so then county won't accept original payment unless it's paid in full with late fees . So this then becomes a huge hassle of back and forth bs. I cannot wait for interest rates to drop I will be refinancing. The OCC already sanctioned this company. Someone a (lawyer ) needs to look deep into this company and how they conduct business do your research so much cenlar does that is just not normal . Also they get their social media people to reach out on here to make it look like they resolve things . Then they say message us or we will message you etc..and guess what you still get nowhere . Employees are not trained properly to answer questions and you can't talk to anyone who is a boss. Cenlar you are dealing with peoples homes life and shelter do better and get your business in order . If I could give zero stars, I would. Citi sold my 15 year mortgage to Cenlar in March 2019 when I had one payment left to pay it off. It has been a month of hell between Citi, who says I was $100 short on a Feb payment (I was not) and now Cenlar says I am short $100. Their only solution is that I pay the $100 and "it will work our in the future". You can never speak to the same person twice, everyone tells you something different, you are constantly put on hold and then transferred to the wrong department. After calling today and waiting 15 minutes to speak to someone, the woman answering the phone said "we are only taking messages because we have so many calls and we will call you back." I told her no way and made her try to help me; after 1 hour on the phone, most of the time I was on hold I was transferred to customer service when I was supposed to be transferred to a supervisor. Some people seem to want to help, but after a week of calling I am no further in resolving my problem. They just do not care. How can a company like this be allowed to remain in business? I am now copying the CT State Attorney General's office on all my correspondence with Cenlar and Citi. I urge everyone to do the same with their state AG office. read more

Due to the numerous issues, we refinanced to another lender/servicer. We are now waiting on our escrow refund, and have been told various things about when we will receive our refund. The two stars is simply due to the Yelp responsiveness and Sharon at Cenlar, who initially worked with us after Cenlar messed up our PMI, then there was lack of clarity about our insurance renewal which Sharon helped with again. Stacy, Eric, and Danielle have been fantastic at responding. Too bad the rest of the responses when you call are not the same. Otherwise, our lack of service, the way we were treated, the lack of care, and the fact that every rep tells you something different, and you can't speak to an actual supervisor is beyond maddening when it comes to your mortgage. Our mortgage and tax statements disappear constantly from the website and app. You feel victimized, and held hostage, all the while not getting help or waiting ages on hold to be promised something that never happens. We look forward to getting our escrow refund and being done with this unfortunate saga. My advice to anyone with Cenlar is to refinance and send notices of errors when things happen. read more

I really hate that CitiMortgage sold me out to this Company very unprofessional and sneaky!!! I filed to get my roof done because of damage from a storm I had to be monitored because of the so called size of the money involved which wasn't a lot but I sent the check to CenLar to sign until my inspection was completed and this was on Dec 3,2020 they kept my check in Escrow account a whole month before sending it saying that Corporate had to release it because I was in bankruptcy and I'm behind on my mortgage and I'm like that's against the law to use my bankruptcy against me and plus I really believe they gained monetary interest on it 2!!! If I could rate this company zero stars, I would. Why you ask? Well let me tell you... 1.) I have spent at LEAST 15-20 hours on hold/listening to their automated messaging, left more voicemails than I can count, and I have still YET to speak with an actual person. 2.) They have been pocketing our HOA fee, so now we have to pay the HOA fee they have NOT been paying, as well as the late fee that goes along with it. 3.) They did not send us our 1098 form, have still yet to do so, and we are STILL having trouble doing our taxes as a result. 4.) NOBODY FROM CENLAR CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! I have left so many emails and voicemails, all I want is to talk to an actual person... but for some reason that has yet to happen... after 5 months we have still not been able to contact a single representative. I made a significant principal curtailment payment to my mortgage on 12/1, and according to Cenlar I was supposed to receive a recast modification agreement in 7-10 days. It is now 12/21 and I have not received the modification agreement. I sent an email on 12/14 for an update, and the response simply told me it would be 7-10 days. I have attempted to contact Cenlar's customer service department via phone, but I never got through after waiting on hold. Due to Cenlar's delays and lack of communication I am concerned that the recast modification will get delayed, and I will be forced to pay an additional month with a higher payment amount. This feels like a predatory practice and is particularly disgusting given the pandemic and holiday season. read more

I inherited this house from my mom. After having submitted paperwork to them several times and having had my bank ALSO submit the paperwork saying that I am now the obligor on the loan, they still don't have any of it. They jacked up the mortgage by $1,000 and the rude representative couldn't explain why. Part of the reason was that the assessor hadn't yet worked on the inherited exemption paperwork, yet. Even after the assessor fixed that, they've still been trying to charge me the same amount. It appears that they've gone from hiring no people to answer the phone to hiring absolute clueless numbskulls. So... I'm going to fax the information to them AGAIN. This is still the only way to reach them - they have not returned my messages on their website, nor is there a phone number to call. Original Comments: Cannot find a phone number anywhere on the website. Had to come here to get it, only for the robot to say "we're too busy" and hang up. Property taxes are coming up and my escrow account isn't linked to anything to pay, even though I've been putting money into it. I also prepaid 6 months of escrow when I refinanced, and that isn't in the account. Not sure what's going on, but this seems to be the only way to get someone's attention over there. read more

Cenlar will not work with you and will give you the run around about everything, and even try to take your home away from you without precedence, I am not sure how they are even in business with all the shady things that they do to their customers, I blame Zions Bank for making me do business with Cenlar and transferring my mortgage to them, Zions Bank should be ashamed of themselves. If you want a horrible customer experience and you don't care about throwing money away or stressing every month whether or not you may lose your home, then this is the Company for you, otherwise I would shop elsewhere and put more money in your pocket, and less stress in your life. read more

received a modification after my covid forbearance ran out, began making payments as required by the modification/new payment structure. cenlar rep complete borked the entire thing and now it shows im behind 2 months when I AM NOT. everytime i call they say they are still investigating and the deadling for a supervisor to call be back as passed. this will not only jeopardize my modification, but also my credit!. no email addresses on their website to contact. the repson the phone are nice but can only do so much and are unable to offer any assistance other than telling me that the account is past due and i just have to wait! read more

I've had a very disappointing experience with this company. There seems to be a serious lack of organization and communication. I've been trying to resolve an issue regarding my escrow balance check for over three months, and each time I speak with a representative, I get a different explanation. It's incredibly frustrating and exhausting. While they're quick to follow up with repeated calls if a payment is even slightly delayed, they don't show the same urgency or consistency when it comes to addressing customer concerns.
