I am very disappointed, in a tough time for all of us this company continues to take our Money that is not theirs to take. Unethical. I requested for our PMI to be removed, FIRST - there was very little information available as to how to do this, I finally came across an e-mail address and emailed. I got an automated e-mail back saying they would get back to me within 30 days. I waited for those 30 days and still nothing. I sent another e-mail following up, mind you while waiting they are still taking my money for the PMI. I called today because it's been 45 days at this point and no response AT ALL. The person on the phone couldn't tell me anything, and just repeating that the department was backed up. I understand that this happens, so I asked, Can they retroact the removal of the PMI to when I first requested? She said no. So at this point the company continues to TAKE our Money with no end in sight of when that will stop. We have worked really hard to get to a point where we don't need PMI. It's an Automatic withdrawal, and I am 4 months worth of payment deep that this Company continues to TAKE/STEAL from us. Not okay at all! If there was a negative rating I would use it. Cenlar took over my mortgage about 6-7 months ago. Our finances are handled by a 3rd party administrator. When we were notified about the change of mortgage companies I notified the administrator. The administrator sends in additional funds to pay the mortgage off early. I received notice that CENLAR does not accept partial payments. Confused, i contacted the administrator who told me they sent a payment for the principal and included a note to apply that payment to the principal. After receiving the "refund" from CENLAR, the administrator had to make a draw from my account, repay the principal. The CENALR "supervisor" was unfriendly and unwilling to look into this situation. Our insurance was due to renew in May. The insurance sent the bill to CENLAR via the US Post office, still a valid way to conduct business. CENLAR claims they never received the bill and would not pay it. CENLAR advised that they preferred online business and would not look for the "lost" bill. After several calls between CENALR and my insurance, CENALR finally paid the bill July 11. I filed a BBB complaint and someone from the "executive resolution committee" called. i have yet to call them back. If it wouldn't coat about $5000 to refinance my home and move to another company I would have a long time ago. this is a shady company read more

Typical corporate America crap! Almost just "created a new account" as we had not done so before. The latest 1098 is available on-line, according to an email message, and we wanted to access it. Went through the lengthy process: create user name, password (according to lengthy requirements), fill out a bunch of other stuff, select 5 security questions, provide answers, etc., etc. Closed out because there was no way to go forward. Attempted to log back in using correct info. Then got this message: "If this is your first time logging in using our new website, you must first re-register your account." In other words go through the entire process again. Guess what? No effing way! Yup, I realize it took me longer to write this review than follow their stupid process, but at least I have the satisfaction of informing (hopefully) others what a BS institution this is. Called customer service. Again typical corporate crap until I got a real nice and helpful guy who was as incredulous as I was about the process. He'll have the form mailed. Went to Germany on vacation. Cenlar sends an up dated escrow statement, they raise it $28. Ok fine, I had arranged payment before leaving U.S. so the payment was short $28. They rejected payment on the account but held the money. When I got back to U.S. I found notice of late payment. I called and made updated payment but this late payment has been on my credit record over six years now. No amount of reasoning will get them to remove it, they are heartless. Believe all the bad reviews! I contacted and faxed Cenlar as soon as I realized there was an issue with our property tax amount configuration. I got the situation corrected and made sure they had all updated documentation. I kept asking them for updates on how they were going to proceed only to be told they would be in contact. Six months later they decided to triple my house payment. When I would call, their automated greeting would go through a long process to tell me they weren't open, even though this was during operational hours/days. I'm still currently in limbo as now they want additional info from my husband to talk to me all of a sudden, whereas before they were speaking with me no problem. Our payment has never been late, and I've been in regular contact about this manner. And now they are screwing us by taking triple our house payment out of our account. TBD if they'll do anything to rectify or reverse that payment situation. Our interest rate is not variable and property tax adjustments to payments typically go through a process giving people a big heads up to payment change unless they want to pay the lump amount up front. Or at least that had been my experience with the loan companies used for our last house for 5 years. This company did send it on the statement and yes I should've opened that statement. My loan got transferred to Cenlar from Citi in Nov 2018. Since that time, I am having a very tough time with Cenlar. There is an escrow balance on my insurance transferred with the wrong amount. I have been fighting since to correct this issue. I could not get hold of one particular customer service agent till now who can clearly explain why I have to pay the extra balance. I have automated payment sent based on my original mortgage payment and promptly getting returned by mid-month and charge me late fees as well. VERY DIFFICULT to get someone in CENLAR to clarify and clear this issue. Please don't borrow a loan with CENLAR and run away as far as you could. read more

Unfortunately our mortgage was sold to Cenlar a little over 2 months ago. They did not pay our property taxes in assuming our mortgage. When my husband called them they said it was the other mortgage company's fault even those the money was sitting there in escrow when they bought our mortgage. They said they would take care of it and when we called back a couple weeks later a rep said it was not in process and they needed documentation. Why didnt the first rep say that? So now we've called July 15th and then emailed them the delinquent notices on July 20th asking for them to pay. We now have received a FINAL notice from our tax office saying we are delinquent. We have 800+ credit scores, we do not mess around with paying bill late. This is absolutely absurd. So I called today 7/28/21 and spoke with Johnathan (refused to give his last name but says his employee ID number is TCF, not sure if that is real or not). I explained the situation and my level of frustration to which he said there was already a ticket open to pay the taxes and they hoped to do so by August 10th. He said it could be before or could be after August 10th? I beg your pardon...later?! He said that's just "their process". I then said could he call the department that issues the payment so they can escalate my case and pay our delinquent taxes sooner and he said no that they dont have personal contact information of people in that department and that they only work via email. I asked if I could speak to a manager in that department and he said that department doesnt have a manager. So, you mean to tell me an entire department that is responsible for paying taxes, has no manager?! I find that that incredibly hard to believe. I then said I'd like to speak to a manager from his department and HE REFUSED! I asked why and he said that their managers rarely talk to customers except for extreme circumstances. I said company neglect to pay property taxes on the final notice is not extreme? He said no because they have a ticket in to pay it so there's nothing else they can do. He then said "you dont get to speak to a manager just because you're upset." This is the most unprofessional response I've ever heard. I asked if he was the only one to make an assessment on whether I could speak to a manager and he said yes. So basically he dug his heels in. He had a total late of empathy, urgency, and his responses, tone and delivery were down right disrespectful. I wish I had some power to have stopped the sale of our mortgage to this company and found a different one. I cannot believe the level of customer service, but in looking at the yelp reviews, the consumer affairs reviews and BBB I see why. THey arent even a BBB accredited business. There are nearly 1,000 complaints there. It should be illegal to sell mortgages to companies that simply dont care about customer service because this level of complaints surely indicates that. I see that business service reps have responded to Yelp reviews so i would welcome a real human being to contact me and expedite my issue. Dont just say you'll look into it, but take action and then also review your customer service training. Be warned! This company handles the Prime Lending mortgages. Five days until taxes are due and the website is down! Anyway, the website is a joke - a high school student could build a better site. it's difficult to navigate and information is not easy to find. Called the company and the system hung up on me twice. The customer service rep couldn't answer my questions without asking someone else and put me on hold three times. I have received emails saying a particular doc is being mailed out and then they don't mail it. Other emails say that docs will be available and when i go to the website there's no doc. Many times emails have broken links. I sometimes get duplicate paper bills and other months I don't get a bill at all. Tax docs were never sent. Prime Lending needs a different company to handle it's payments. read more

Only been with them a short time and this is the 2nd time they've applied a "Principal Only" payment as a general payment (clearly whoever is processing the checks is blind or illiterate). My loan was transferred to them for the last 8 months of my loan and it was not a pleasant experience. From the very beginning, I got different answers service representatives every time I called. After making payments for 29 years with no late fees or missed payments, I had to deal with this company for the last 9 months of the loan - was this punishment for making regular payments lol? I was told by one person that I could just pay this loan until it had a zero balance which was not even correct - I was later instructed to get a payoff statement and even after that I got new information up until I actually made the payment. There are a couple of reps that were really helpful, but I had to call numerous times to get a knowledgeable rep or even supervisor. The worst possible customer service! Cenlar is supposed to service loans (mortgages) for banks, but in the last four years that I have had the misfortune of working with them they have managed to twice mess up my account so bad that I had to file suit. The first major debacle was in 2013. I had an escrow with them and they grossly overpaid my insurance invoice (by 200%). Nobody at Cenlar could ever actually do anything though everybody could immediately see the problem I spoke to about a dozen people and each time was like the first time. Each time I had to send all the documentation that had already been sent. Worse yet, they each promised to solve the problem but nothing ever happened. The only way I got the problem solved was to threaten to sue the bank that hired them to service the mortgage. The second major debacle was in 2016. They asked for proof of insurance which I sent FOUR times. Nevertheless they kept demanding proof and then bought homeowners insurance for the stunning outrageous price of about $15,000/year. I talked to four people over six months and every time I had to send the same documents that I already sent them before. Each time each person apologized for the problem and promised to fix it. Of course, nothing ever got done. Lawsuit two is now underway. It sure is a shame that the only way to get anything done is to have to file suit against the company. The customer service representatives are nice people and I assume they try to be helpful, but Cenlar is so poorly run company that nobody can do anything despite the best of intentions. The company is incompetent, moronic, inept - they take customer service to new lows. As if we, the customers, don't have enough problems, Cenlar thinks it acceptable for us to hassle for months over issues that should be resolved in minutes. read more

These people serviced our mortgage, and did so just fine until the loan was paid off during refinancing. Even though our loan was paid during the refinancing process, they still withdrew a mortgage payment from our bank account the next month, and then gave us a hard time when we said they needed to give it back ASAP. It took almost 2 weeks to get a substantial sum of money back from them when they had no legal right to take it in the first place. The same type of BS with getting our escrow refund. Their policy is to disperse funds in time for you to have the refund within 30 days of closing (on the refinance). It's been 40 and still no check from them. Get it together. read more

Horrible. More like minus 5 stars. My credit union (the local teacher's credit union) used them so I was stuck for years with these people. Frankly, after a few contacts, I just plain refused to deal with them. I called the credit union directly and just stayed far, far, away from these people. They have horrible customer service, and they don't care about what you think. They are awful. I moved, got a new loan with a different lender, and they sold the loan to these people. I was so disappointed; they are the absolute worst. I am never late with my mortgage and they treat me like dirt. Its just the way they operate -- they can't help themselves. I am posting today because they are charging me a service charge for a "rush fee". For what? I ask for nothing, I just pay my mortgage on time, that's it. If had only known they were going to sell my home loan to these hoodlums and been presented another loan processing option I would have taken it in a heartbeat. There has been an unabashed lack of business integrity and ethics along with a steady stream of dishonesty even with their supervisory level verbal commitments. This behavior only begins to describe this company, its employee's and its officers belief that everyone else is going to be dishonest and try to take advantage of them, so lets treat them as if this is going to happen to us at any moment. It's no wonder they treat you, the customer with such fear and disrespect. Further, please don't show pity for their employees because by their mere continuing to be employed at Cenlar means they have swallowed the big pill of accepting and knowing they have silently but actively endorsed supporting their masters lack of ethical business behavior. Both myself and my bank have contacted Cenlar on multiple occasions to locate and return one "electronic" payment (not a check) which was sent to Cenlar after the loan had already been paid off and escrow funds were still in my account. Supervisor after supervisor in the investigative/expediting unit made promises to return funds after receiving the required confirmation of funds transfer, but they too moved their lips in agreement to get it sent back to me. Their words all turned out to be fabrications as well. They responded they'd have their investigative unit get into the matter and respond in 3 days. This is the same story I heard at least 5 times. Avoid this company. The expression "if their lips are moving, they're lying" fully describes who they are and how they operate their business. So, it's not if they will be dishonest its only a question of when and how they will treat you with disrespect and dishonor. It's clear to me they are loyal to the wrong business principal, remain loyal first and foremost to their highest value proposition, greed and self-serving reward rather than serving the customer. I have never taken a loan in any amount from Cenlar. My Home Equity Line of Credit was transferred from CITIBANK to Cenlar without notification. We did not owe any amount on the Home Equity account when the transfer took place. We had the account at the suggestion of our financial advisor, to cover any emergency situation. We decided to get out of CITIBANK, in part due to this transfer of accounts without notice. Now Cenlar tells us we can't close out the Home Equity account with them without paying a $216.00 "payoff" fee... for an account we had for two months with a company we did not select. This is going to end badly, I think. Customer service, which hides its number and puts you through a full four minutes of nonsense before you have the option of trying to speak to a human, is as cranky as other reviewers have suggested. It is obvious that the company puts them in the position of having nothing helpful to offer Cenlar victims. If your mortgage is sold to these people, refi to a bank that doesn't sell loans. Short story...We had a water loss, insurance paid almost 200K for repairs. Cenlar deposited it and I'm sure is collecting interest on it all while denying me access to that money by continually saying we haven't given them the "right" documentation. After spending maybe 20 hrs total on the phone among many reps what I've since found out is that they actually do have everything they "need", they just refuse to do the 1st grade math so they reach the amount they are holding. They require my insurance to do the math for them. We now have a lien on our house from one contractor and the other contractor threatening to stop repairs because Cenlar refuses to give up the money. How is this legal? Trust me, get out while you can. That little bit in refi fees is nothing compared to the headache they will cause you if you have a loss you have to go thru. read more

My mortgage was purchased by them 4 months ago from Citibank. I can no longer phone in a payment with additional to the principal without speaking to a customer service rep and paying additional fees. My check has been lost once costing me $35. for a stop payment. One other check took 3 weeks to process causing me to make repeated calls to check the status. Customer service reps are clearly put out by the calls trying to find the missing payments. A constant rep named MAGGIE seemed to be the most unprofessional of them. WE will be looking for a new mortgage lender since this company to me is very unreliable. Would not recommend them to anyone for this service. Do yourself a favor and RUN! I would not recommend them at all. You can only ever get through to a debt collector and then have to wait to talk to just a customer service rep. Paying off our mortgage should be one of the happiest days of our lives but they intentionally make it more challenging (especially when there's a pandemic going on). We paid $0.01 more than the payoff amount we were quoted and they are saying it's not complete and that we still owe $5. They won't give us a contact number to reach the payoff department and state they cannot even contact them directly. If you miss their call - well then, you are just out of luck until they call you back. I'm so over poor customer service and this company trying to take advantage of good clients (having never missed a payment, despite our business closing down for about 2 months due to covid). They tell u what u want to hear to bring u in and they once u r done with training they changed ur schedule and they micro manage u that u can even go to the rest room. Worst company to work for . They tell u to help the customer and instead the do other. The management that works there don't know there jobs. U ask them question to get help and they cant even do that. Human resource doesn't know what they are doing. U give them question and they cant even help. I used to work at Cenlar in Tempe Az. He would let me set up check over the phone for date that the customer couldn't pay and because i told him that it was against the law. He came up with a different story to get me fired. After multiple calls and emails over a 1 month period, Cenlar has yet to resolve the issue they created. We simply changed bank information for our payment and it's been a nightmare. We paid our November mortgage over the phone with a representative who applied the payment to "other". Because the rep erroneously did not identify the payment towards "principal" and "interest", our account still shows 19 days past due! And cenlar has the money dated 11/12! Each time I talk to collections or a payment rep they state they see the error and "make a note" and it will be changed in 2 days. We are coming up to our December payment and I have zero confidence in Cenlar. Not to mention the fact that they very well could erroneously forward this issue to the credit bureau and I would be wasting more time sending all the documents proving they received payment. No surprise in seeing Cenlars accreditation was revoked! read more

My loan was transferred to Cenlar by Citi Mortgage. First , I mailed them an ACH form with a requested voided check for auto payment, didn't see the info posted on my account for 3 months, called..emailed.., no responses at all . Finally, I signed up the auto payment from their web page but still concerning where did the ACH form go that contained my personal info and a bank voided check. Yes, their web page is too simply to give you details of loan, escrow payments, etc. The most recent frustrated thing was payment for the property tax - here's what I read on my account: Tax $xxxx paid 11/8 ( paid to where ? paid for what ? what year ? ) So emailed them on 11/26/2019, hoping I would get an answer as they claimed they would answer questions within 24-48 hours. They never did. Their call line was always busy , never able to talk to a live person. Since then, I've been tracing my property tax payment history from the Alameda county, as of this afternoon, I still didn't see the 1st installment was paid by Cenlar. In order to avoid 10% penalty and potential lien on my property, I've to pay the property tax by myself and will have to deal with this issue with Cenlar if I'm lucky enough to get in touch with them by any means. Looking at all the bad reviews of Cenlar, does the company know about it, or they don't care about it ? My second mortgage was assumed by Cenlar just as I was refinancing to consolidate the loan. Any interaction with Cenlar comes with a $5 charge. The website loan administration.com is poorly laid out and doesn't address any issues. I tried to use the online form to ask for a payoff amount on April 10th. I just received an answer on May 15th. 35 day turn around on the website contact. So of course I called and they charged me $5 to get a payoff. My troubles with Cenlar date back to May of 2020 when I refinanced my loan with Cenlar. After 5 LONG months, and many emails, follow ups, revised documents, I was able to close. However, now rather than refunding my ESCROW from the previous loan as was written in my closing documents, Cenlar transferred my ESCROW to my NEW loan. Needless to say, their customer service is horrible. After countless hours waiting on hold with numerous representatives, I am still waiting for my refund since November 2020! Now my property taxes haven't been paid and they neglected to pay for my home owners insurance, which is now canceled. With all this documented on their end, they still plan to hit me with an absurd home owners payment to my loan. However, their records show the number of times I have called them, the numerous requests for a refund, and I have yet to speak to a supervisor. This is absurd! I am someone who not only pays their bills but pays ahead of time. Today I got not 1 but 2 bills in the mail saying I had missed a payment and was being charged late fees (on both bills). I can look on my online banking and see that the mortgage bills have been paid and are marked as "paid". In one of the bills it says that my account "may" be turned over to collections. I called to speak with someone to have them explain to me why they say a payment is missing and also to figure out how much they think I owe since the information on the 2 bills don't match or correlate. When I entered my account info- it says my account "has been" turned over to collections...what??? I paid early and have proof of payment and you turned me over to "collections". I waited on hold for almost an hour just to get a message that (they said a phone number) is not available and for me to leave a message. I am beyond frustrated with this company. If Cenlar's customer service managers are looking at this, please contact me. I need to know what is going on with my account.
