I reached out to Valot General Contractors through a friend of mine about my situation and they worked with me on the materials and how I wanted to get the project done. I'm definitely not the easiest customer to have because I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but they EXCEEDED the expectations!! My original contractor half assed the work so they didn't have an easy job to complete because they also had to fix up the previous mess. They did absolutely amazing and Pedro was always on time. He worked with my busy schedule to make sure we could complete the job correctly. Susie, the project manager always made sure I was up to date on the project and what was needed. I will definitely be reaching out again to have them do other projects for me in the future.

His guys told me that they were being asked to do things they didn't know how to do, and it became evident in their slowness. For instance, the day before he walked, he sent two guys to my job--one a painter and another a helper - to tile the bathroom shower. When I asked why it took them all day to only lay 3 tiles, they told me that it took him 4 hours to measure for the tiles, and the other time to lay them. I spoke to the office to complain, and she defended them. In the end, this contractor took a large commercial job, and his workers told me that he would be fined if he missed a deadline. Despite the fact that he was a month past my deadline, he choose to pull his guys after I'd paid him $26,000 (Full payment). I anticipate that he will respond by saying that he ran into things he did not expect. That is true. He had to remove the sheetrock from about 15 feet and replace it, rewire 5 electrical plugs, and do some extensive plumbing work. We made financial arrangements for the extra work, and I acknowledge that it pushed back the timeline a little. But that does NOT give him an excuse to walk away from a job that he was paid in full for. I DO NOT recommend this contractor--he uses amateurs that cannot get the job done. UPDATE: I am having to redo a lot of the electrical work he did, and the windows he installed are wrong. They open crooked and get stuck.

They came out, did a frank assessment of the roof, and recommended that we do the repairs instead of doing a replacement, as we still had some life left on the roof. I appreciate their honest assessment of the situation, and their straightforward way of submitting an estimate. Once they performed the repairs, we could see where they were, as the rubber was clean, and they wrote the date of the repairs in white marker. The prices were fair, and the service was fast. I'd recommend them for any roofing job!

I appreciated that JJJ answered my call, came to my house to give an estimate, and kept me updated along the way. Once I got the estimate, I was able to get the work started. I will say, I also appreciated that the pricing was reasonable as well. I know lumber has gone up in price and I did account for that, but I wasn't comfortable moving forward with something outside of my price range. The work was done on time and completed quickly! Once they were done, I was sent pictures like I asked! Great workmanship throughout. The good reviews and photos gave me hope that maybe this would be the company to help us out, and now I'm glad I get to share my great experience. Damian responded to my inquiry quickly, came out to inspect the damage and provided an estimate within a few days. He is a great communicator and is very punctual. I never had any problems getting in touch with him. The same can be said for his crew. They were very respectable and their craftsmanship was fantastic. On the second day we tried to get hold of people and everyone was unavailable. We have been told they were going to come back to tarpot that day but they did not. Early this morning we heard from the head contractor who had been out of town. He was very upset about the situation. He said that that was not their policy. That they had a requirement that everything be covered before people went home for the day. As a result of the issue, they are intending to compensate us in some fashion. The biggest thing is that the house is covered now. They have almost completed the roof and said they will be back on Monday. Some rocks showing after minor wear from water runoff. I understand that all concrete cracks, but we already have 10 foot cracks, across two portions of the driveway. At the end of installation, worker sprayed off a portion of the patio step, exposing aggregate beneath. Another worker busted off a three inch chunk off the edge of the newly poured patio. Owner pledged to patch it with matching material. Did not match. Matching issues sent to the email we were using to communicate; no response nor concern shown to stand behind work.
